This is a very very good van der Valk hotel. Excellent service, comfortable rooms and the best van der Valk (and I had a few) breakfasts I had, ever. It is situated just near the highway and set up in a very spacious way. It was one of the most appealing looking hotel buildings of the chain I had seen so far. Been there over November and December 2021. Christmas decorations made it look very attractive. One major plus was the fact the building is 'only' 3 stories high, but due to the ground floor sizes, it is quite big. The walking distance to your room could be a bit more of course. But I liked this way of architecture as compared to the taller ones. Wi-Fi was good, Gym/Fitness is spacious, nice view of the inner garden and good quality equipment. The indoor swimming pool also present. Special and very special note for breakfast. It is the most and biggest buffet I have seen so far from them (compared to the seating/hotel size). I won't even go into naming it all, but most positive from my end was the organic and local foods they have. That is really outstanding. Live Cooking and everything there. Very fresh, very good. Again, this is one of my favorites. I always come in late and have to leave early, but every stay was excellent. Will for sure return here, most important is the sleeping quality. Low noise rooms and good beds. Minor remark on the pillows, they are quite 'high' and big, so if you aren't used to that it could result in cramps possibly. But again, all full stars for this place. Well earned

The restaurant at Van der Valk Apeldoorn offers decent food, though it doesn't quite reach exceptional levels. Unfortunately, the service leaves much to be desired with its slow and seemingly disinterested approach. A helpful tip: you can get your own drinks at the lobby, as the service in the restaurant does not notice, saves you a night without drinks like the tables around us.

Perfect stay here, well maintained and great variety of hotel facilities! Super friendly staff and everything is well served, highly recommended! Also with a nice nature area, the plus is the hotel breakfast! Good food and vibes

location was fantastic , next to forest, we had ravioli , it was delucious. This is really a good Van der Valk.

=== restaurant only === For a reason they don't accept reservations for the buffet (or "live cooking"). We tried on a Saturday afternoon and no luck. We went on a Friday afternoon (just before dinner time) and we found a table. We were greeted by the waiter, he asked for our drinks and asked us if we know how the system works (like all you can eat style). It is quite diverse, with salad, soup, fish, warm food, grill (live cooking), dessert, and coffee sections. We were really pleased by the variety of food and were happy that we had food before it was full of people (specially queueing in the live cooking). It is a little more expensive than having a la carte, but worth once in a while.

Beautiful atmospheric setting. Unfortunately, good was just okay and service was a miss (several times we had to flag staff down to order, to remind them that they hadn't delivered something to one person, or toake another request). Frustrating evening.

Good experience overall. Serviceteam is unexperienced but polite. Welness is nice. Food is ok, but stay away from the sauce that goes with the schnitzel! Room was very nice! Had a pleasant stay overall

After 2,5 years from my previous visit, I am happy to see a general renovation, especially in the room. Exactly the same room, but new and fresh! The reception hall is still quite small, it was fully booked,so everything was crowded...the restaurant is very good on the positive side, also the breakfast

The bedroom was super cosy. Near for tourist to do some sightseeing as well

What can I say. Just good value for money as all van der Valk are fameus for. You will not be disappointed.

Reting the restaurant only. The food was great, tasty and fresh. But it took like 10 minutes to get a menu from staff and then we waited more than 20 minutes for a requested check after we were done, never got it, gave up and then just went to pay at the register. Either hire more people or train existing ones better. They were not overworked - just hung out in the corner forgetting about customers.
