The Transformer add-on was a pathetic display of how far backward Germany is in terms of Digital, AI and information technology in general. Of the 3 robots, 1 was non-functional, one had trouble connecting and one was being revived via a charging cable...the mannequins were crude in their execution - you would find more advanced animatronics in your local shopping mall.

(Translated by Google) The private art museum named after the founder and collector Frieder Burda, opened in 2004, is a jewel of museum architecture. The design by the renowned New York architect Richard Meier blends the white cube, which is broken up by generous glass surfaces, harmoniously into the park landscape of the Lichtentaler Allee and harmoniously relates to the proportions of the adjoining State Art Hall. The excellent lighting concept, which allows daylight to flood the rooms variably, makes the works of art shine. At the same time, the views of the avenue look like landscapes of harmonious beauty. Two generous floors offer plenty of space for large-format modern art, a mezzanine floor creates intimacy for small works. The whole house is transparent, a ramp enables barrier-free access to all floors. In the basement there is another exhibition room, museum shop, cloakrooms, lockers ... The starting point for many exhibitions is often a selection from the extensive collection, supplemented by loans from other museums. Thematic changing exhibitions, also in collaboration with the Kunsthalle, complement the range of exhibitions that have offered many highlights over the 16 years. Highly recommended for friends of classic modernism and current art! An exhibition by the famous French painter Pierre Soulage is currently on show. It is advisable to start on the upper floor in order to understand the development of the artist, starting with the work from 1948. The retrospective shows a rich and representative overview of the work of the "Master of Black". Anyone interested in the development of modern art should definitely see the exhibition. Unfortunately, November 1st was the beginning and at the same time the temporary end of the exhibition, we hope for an end to the shutdown soon!

We paid 11€ each person (we're students) to see only less than 20 artworks for "Transformers"!! Really not worth it. We did the whole exhibition in 15 minutes!

None of the information was in English. No one communicated this beforehand. The museum only shows exhibition, so maybe check beforehand to see if you are interested in the specific artist. For the entry price of 14 euro it was not worth it at all for us. Audio guide costs an additional 5 euro. Nice building tho with good architecture.

This museum is housed in a well designed interesting buiding which calls for interesting exhibits. There, perhaps a matter of taste, it all falls down, the few exhibits (the place is practically empty) are just not interesting at all. We drove 80km to see really nothing at all. The Kunsthalle next door is just as bad or worse. We paid 14Eu each for a let down.

Great place to visit in Baden Baden. This is the second time here and I especially like that the exhibition space is compact and there is no queue at the entrance. On weekends it is always a nice cultural addition to our program.

Mediocre Museum - not a must, not a waste of time My first visit to the Museum Frieder Burda happend quite spontanous and in times of the Corona, so with limited expactations and under the influence of social distancing rules in place. The interesting designed building is an exception of modern architecture within Baden Baden. The current exhibition "The Burda Brothers. A history of collecting" (Die Bilder der Brüder) focuses on the beginning of the art collections of the super-rich kids of the Burda family. The artists are mainly german expressionists. Also the different levels of the museum are colofrul designed. So colors play a big role in the exhibition. Which is fun. But overall the selection of the pictures, the amount of different artworks and the overall size of the exhibition isn't breathtaking. There is no showstopper, no special moment or situation which invites to forget the time. In an short hour you have checked the whole exhibition and start to spend time in the concept store in the basement - which is just a pricey hodgepodge shop. On the Baden-Baden Level the museum is for sure a must. But in comparison to other museums in the region, not an absolute to-do. Also it should be considered that especially the english website version is full of missed translations and bugs which makes it hard to find correct informations.

The museum is immersed in nature and it has been an amazing setting to discover the work of Nicolas Party, which is pretty much rooted in nature. The synergy with his natural landscapes and the contrast with the apocalypse and the decay of things that is a focal point of the artist has been quite magnificent. I did feel that the exhibition is rather small and restricted for the price of the ticket - although admittedly Nicolas Party created a lot of murals specifically for this museum, and I didn’t love the museum shop. I wish there were items on sale that matched the exhibition and the modern spirit of it, there were classic things on sale that you could find in any store out of this museum. I didn’t have coins with me and I couldn’t leave my jacket in the garderobe for 1 euro. I wish in the future this kind of details will be modernized. All in all a pleasant Sunday experience and I would recommend visiting if you have the chance.

What a fabulous little museum. Just beautiful. The staff spoke German, French, and English, and the permanent collection is very impressive to say the least. The standard-bearers of modern art are all there, from Pollack to Warhol, and in a way, it seems as if the Frieder Burda could be the sister museum to the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

Great building with a nice collection ! I heard they have a great international contemporary art collection and was lucky enough to be there when they had a special exhibition on german artists work ! So was happy to know more about locals as i kinda know already some international big names !

Architecturally, this museum is stunning. The coloured walls provide warmth to the interior and complement the art as well. The contemporary art, which comes from a private collection, is overly abundant but has been displayed beautifully. The entry price is a bit steep, but lovers of the collection and of architecture will not find that a burden.

Not a particularly big place, but spacious and had enough interesting work through the four floors or so. Audio guide was fairly cheap, but since a lot of the descriptions were only in German and French it may be necessary to get a good experience for other speakers. An enjoyable 30+ mins or so as a detour in Baden Baden.

(Translated by Google) In the spirit of the founder Frieder Burda, the focus of the museum is still on the presentation of painting and is therefore not only architecturally but also programmatically, an interesting counterpoint to the neighboring State Art Hall. In a time of colorful, moving and moving images, the current exhibition with the painting by Pierre Soulages in its radical restriction to the color black is a real challenge. The large-format, abstract works create distance and meditative calm, but also convey the impression of unobtrusive liveliness with a strictly linear, relief-like structure, supported by light reflections. The development of his art from the calligraphic and abstract-figurative painting of the 50s to the present is shown clearly and comprehensibly. This remarkable exhibition (until February 28, 021) provides insights into the consistent life's work of an artist who at the age of 100 is still working regularly in his studio. Respect and respect! For those interested in painting: be sure to visit after the lockdown! After the lockdown: very interesting exhibition!

(Translated by Google) Modern architecture worth seeing. The interior is flooded with light, everything is white except for the floors and there is always a view of nature from the floors. (Translated by Google) Much too expensive and commercially oriented. You can only get detailed information about the exhibits via audio equipment, and that costs an additional 5 euros.
