It is a beautiful restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is elegant and tasteful, with comfortable seating and plenty of natural light. The owner and staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They even let us kareoke making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The best part of the experience was the food. The menu had a great selection of dishes and everything we tried was fkn delicious. We had a wonderful time dining here and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in a beautiful setting with friendly staff.

Great Food at a very affordable price EDIT: 7 years later the restaurant is in a new location. The steak didn’t seem to be as good as back then. Prices seem much higher, we paid 60 dollar for two people (but did have a bottle of white wine). Sauces which used to be on the table are not there anymore. Service still very good and friendly

Ostrich Steak Fillet Mignon was amazing, almost indistinguishable from a beef steak, if you are new to Ostrich I would recommend trying it. Chicken sizzler was also good, would be 5 star but the toilet are in serious need of modernising/cleaning.

THE BEST STEAK HOUSE IN NEPAL Nice place with best foods available out there. The people were cooperative & one can not simply hold themselves for second visit. If you wanna try out best steaks, go check it out.

If you’ve been eating basic fried rice while trekking, then on return to Kathmandu treat yourself a meal here. This must be one of the nicest restaurants in town. Good steak, pork chops, fresh salad & cold beer. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here.

Was looking around for a good steakhouse after 2 weeks hiking around the Annapurna region and happen to chance upon this steakhouse Decided to try the ostrich New York strip and was pleasantly surprised by the taste. Medium rare was done really well with a touch of charred skin Disappointed that there are no cocktail/mocktail available as the stuff are away on vacation however the waiter was very friendly and accommodating. It was like having a conversation with a long lost friend I will be back!

This is the first time I ever had steak and I was very excited. To my excitement I was fully satisfied. The staff were quite welcoming and the price was pretty reasonable. The order did come late but they has already told us about. The one thing they could work on is the furnitures thet could introduce some more comfortable ones. Overall a satisfactory visit. Will visit again.

We had our last meal in Nepal at this resto and I am so glad that we did. This place was a revelation, off all the places we dined in our 8 days trip, this was hands down the best. The food was on point, perfect balance of spice and seasoning with a huge portion of perfectly cooked meat that was paired with an ample amount of mashed potatoes. This resto probably offers the best value for money among all Nepalese restos. The server was a super cordial guy who did not hesitate to go the extra mile to make us comfortable, he showed us around the place. The place is super cosy with an amazing array of country music playing, a map where travellers mark their country of origin and a photo booth for memory. The server was a fascinating gentleman who kept a smile on even though we were past their closing time. For anyone travelling to Kathmandu and looking for dining option, you must do yourself a favour and stop by, you won't regret and that is a personal guarantee. Will be coming back again and again. The quality of the food is really good. We had grilled pork chop. Grilled chicken and a chicken sizzler. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the pork chop was very tender and seasoned perfectly. The portions sizes are also good compared to their prices Sadly we didn't get the opportunity to try their steak since they were all out of it but will definitely go back.

That was my first time to have ostrich steak in this restaurant , just loved it . Beautiful place for lunch and dinner with family and friends. Very welcoming stuff. Enjoy it

I wouldn’t suggest to go there. Took so long fro them to prepare the food. Also it was not cooked properly. Appetizers was very greasy as a french fries and onion rings. Honestly wouldn’t recommend this place….

To our disappointment, Beef steak wasn’t available owing to the fact that it comes from outside. However, I liked the Ostrich Steak which the restaurant is famous for. ambiance was nice. My daughter also liked the Californian Burger. Will visit again to try other dishes! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ordered ostrich steak, MEDIUM, but it was a disappointing Well-Done. Sauce is just mushroom sauce as base, added pepper for black pepper/added red wine as red wine sauce. Told the staff it was overcooked, he insisted that it is medium. Not worth it at all.

Food's dope, the atmosphere could be a bit better I suppose. The steak was nice, would probably be disowned by my Hindu family if they found out. Still recommend though.

I dont normally leave reviews unless it is really good or really bad. This it problaby the worst restaurant I have been to. I was looking for a good restaurant in the tourist area and found this one. Looked good with 4.5 stars and I didn’t really bother to check the reviews because I was hungry. This was a mistake. It is obvious there is a lot of fake reviews here. If you read the reviews from tourists you will see it is over priced, small portions, bad service and not good quality of the meat etc. I am laughing a little bit because it is just so many bad things at the same place, I was pretty surprised that this actually were up and running. When I arrived I were the only one there. First of all I ordered a Coke Zero. It definitely was normal coke and when I asked to see the bottle they spent a lot of time finding it, still unopened (glass only 250ml max). After that I ordered a triple ostrich tenderloin. Medium rare. I had high expectations. The price was about 2400 without tax. But I were hungry. The food came quite fast which was nice. But it was a very small portion. The triple I bought was about the size as a normal steak (250g). Furthermore the two of the three pieces was rare all the way trough. The last one was cooked good and was tender. When confronted about two of the three pieces being rare all the way trough, they said: “ it is supposed to be like that”. I said “no, I have eaten a lot of steak.” Then they said they would speak with the manager. Returned with a piece of paper with a chart of the degrees of rareness a steak should be. He said 25% of the steak should be rare. When I pointed at my steak and it was completely rare he ignored it. After 15 minutes the manager came and asked if everything was good. I said no the steak is rare, and he didn’t really say much. I knew I would not be leaving this place without paying the 2400. This is the first time I have ever been so disappointed by a restaurant I leave a negative review. Everything went wrong, from the slow service (alone in restaurant and many staff), raw meat to the handling of the manager.

We all ate the Ostrich Steaks. We ordered Medium Rare and Medium, the steaks we're whatever you got (medium and well done). No sense in asking people if the cook doesn't know how to do it. The meat was really tasty, but a bit chewy. The sides we're actually quite good. No atmosphere there, the Third Eye is done a lot better in how it looks like and feels like, it's rather cheap. Would not recommend as a place to go to, nothing compared to western steakhouses.

I don’t know where these good reviews are coming from. Don’t waste your time or money here. The staff are amazing but the food is truly terrible. I managed a few bites of the steak before sending it back as it was so tough and full of gristle. I paid only for the side potatoes & veg. So disappointing.

Food was disappointing and over priced, service was average, atmosphere was fine but bland. What turned me off most is they asked me to fill out a Google review while standing over my shoulder watching me do it. I deleted it right after posting and when I went to the counter to pay they asked why it wasn't showing up and to try again. The rating here is inflated because of them watching people while they review. There are too many other good places to eat in the area. Don't waste your time.

The five star reveiws are probably from a different era. Maybe they couldn't keep their chef or maybe they cheaped out on ingredients but this restaurant is definitey not 5 star worthy. Food: Meager serving for the price. The beef steak was okay but every one should avoid their pork chops. No meat, only fat on the pork. No flavors. Drinks: How difficult is it to make a decent drink? Apparently very difficult. Maybe they can't afford a bartender? Service: Service was okay, food came out fast. Maybe it was because we were the only ones in the restaurant? Verdict: Not worth the $$$ Best to buy meat from Nina's and make some yourself after watching some Youtube tutorials.

We ordered their beef burger and chicken something.the patty in the burger was a little overcooked other than that it was a good burger, but damn the chicken were really fresh and crispy. Definitely recommend their crispy chicken.

Tried the ostrich burger. Average at best. It would’ve been nice if there were some direction signs as the place being on 2nd floor and the buildings there are adjacent. The entrance to the restaurant is actually inside a small hotel. (Maybe it’s part of the hotel, idk but some signs on the street sure would help).

Having dinner at Kathmandu Steak House was a wonderful experience! The ambiance was great and cozy. Extremely friendly staff and most importantly delicious food. Hygienically cooked. It's in central area of Thamel, very convenient, (inside Trekkers Home Hotel). I will definitely come again. Thank you so much!

I had onion rings(a bit under done) and a medium rare New York strip ostrich steak (a but over done) which was fairly good. I sat on the balcony with a view of the street, it was a bit chilly. Service was ok, took awhile to pay. Food was fantastic, but after 8 days on the EBC trek, anything would be great. I might stick with just the steak, was hoping they would have a Yak steak.

Really disappointed with everything. We ordered a cheese popper, ostrich steak and pork chop. Two out of 6 cheese ball were burnt. The side dishes of pork chop were also served burnt and the vegetables were not properly sauted. Ostrich steak was too dry. The potatoes served as a side dish was again burnt. Mashed potato which came as a side dish of pork chop was very grainy and tasteless. We could only eat because we were really hungry.

Came here because of the good reviews but was Hugely disappointed. Ordered the grilled pork chop. Not only was the portion small, but the pork chop was 80 percent fat, 15 percent bone, and 5 percent meat.
