This beautiful doorknob can be found in Eisgrube 14. The original is in the Historical Museum and dates from the 18th century. The name “Apfelweibla” goes back to E.T.A. Hoffmann, who lived in Bamberg from 1808 to 1813 and was inspired by the doorknob to create the character of the "Apfelweibe" in his fairy tale "The Golden Pot". Great story and ideal for an authentic souvenir from Bamberg. A mold of the doorknob face can be purchased in the “Haus zur Drum” at Judenstraße 17 for 18 euros.

Fantastic. Seldom seen such a beautiful doorknob. The hardships of the climb are absolutely worth the sight.

This doorknob is famous for Bamberg. There are also cake tins and other replicas of them. You can find the replica on the house, the original of which is probably kept in the museum. A curious piece.

It is what it is. A doorknob on the side of the street. Historically significant.

I read it, I had to go. It was a bit tricky to find because the adjacent church was being renovated and the street was therefore closed. Quite nice to look at.

A doorknob in the ice pit. An alley between the upper parish and St. Stephen's Church. The Apfelweibla looks kind of funny.

Inconspicuous in Eisgrube 14. Close to St. Stephan Church.

My German teacher, Willi, was already raving about it. This is really very interesting, especially if you have read the Golden C0 ck. It's definitely worth the visit to see a doorknob. 10/10 Great shot!

You can experience a lot. On foot with bike. 1 week is sufficient. Seehof Castle is recommended.

Definitely a cute knob with opening times that don't get in the way of a spontaneous visit ;)
