Sirikorn Fruit and Vegetable Market

Market

👍👍 I found this little place while picking up some fruit in the market. It is a takeaway that serves a tasty dish made up of fried potato mixed with taro and a side of tofu. They add this pad thai like sauce and you can have it as spicy as you like. They have a couple of chairs, speak very good english... People often mention market,

I found this little place while picking up some fruit in the market. It is a takeaway that serves a tasty dish made up of fried potato mixed with taro and a side of tofu. They add this pad thai like sauce and you can have it as spicy as you like. They have a couple of chairs, speak very good english and are incredibly nice. A small dish is 30฿, medium 40฿ and large 50฿. It is walking distance from the night bazaar and the old bus station.

Look for a stall with fried potato with taro and fried tofu. Super tasty and delicious. The best of all is the very friendly couple. Boy and his wife are lovely people with a genuine smile and they run a business as second generation after father of Boy had it for 35 years. You should definitely check this stall when in Chiang Rai. Greetings from Leo (Portuket)

The market is clean and there is a fair amount of fresh food. Prepared food and dry food are reasonable. Various fresh flowers But parking is a little difficult to find.

You can find many Thailand fruits in season. Fruits comes from different parts of Thailand sold here. Prices not so expensive. Also so many types of fresh flowers , you can ask for arrangement like bouquet, wreath , in flower vase or for wedding and graduations. Fish and meats very few as well as vegetables. Local foods also available. Ready made clothes also available.

A typical Thai market, selling food, clothes, and other necessities. It's okay for day to day shopping, but not a tourist attraction, unless you want to observe Thais going about their daily lives. I have not struck anyone running a stall that speaks any English. One big plus are the prices - still a very reasonable place to buy from a big range of seasonal fruit and vegetables. Parking a car is a hassle (of course) and beware motorcycles being ridden through the market.......

Do not buy anything here if you do not speak Thai or you are Caucasian. The stall holders will attempt to sell you fruits at 2-3 times the normal prices.

Market is a row of maybe 10 little stands .Looks mostly for tourists. All wrapped nicely, a little more expensive than regular market. Pleasent and easy to buy.
