This is probably the largest museum building in Thailand, that houses in fact three museums - petrified wood, prehistoric elephants and dinosaurs, plus a lovely picturesque petrified wood forest with a lake. Everything is just great! Bilingual explanations, wide variety of exhibits, interactive areas, movies. I spent a great time there.

I really wanted to see and experience something with the children other than temples and walking through cities. So I looked around on Google Maps to see what attractions there were for children in the area. Without further ado, we went to this really enchantingly beautiful museum. It's not very big and not comparable with European dinosaur museums - but it doesn't have to be and shouldn't be. The grounds are beautifully designed and very child-friendly. You get a very friendly welcome at reception. What was a we-oh surprise was the question about the vaccination certificates. Of course, European certificates are difficult to understand. But even that was no problem after a short translation. After that, it started right away. In each room there were short explanatory films. About how the earth and dinos were formed, how petrified wood was formed and then also how and why the dinos died out. The films are of course in Thai. It would be nice to have English subtitles for tourists like me. But you can understand most of it that way. After the films, there were different themed rooms - depending on the video theme - where you could look at the exhibits. The children and also we adults had. In any case, it was a really nice stay.

We had planned the whole lunch. But after a little over an hour we were through. Which is unusual for us. Normally we always need a lot more time than the average visitor. In general I can say that the museum was not worth the visit. An interesting pastime for Thais or better for their children. But the children and their parents were still faster than us despite everything! Some of them are very kitschy and mostly fake skeletons of prehistoric animals. There are also a lot of replica dinosaurs in the open area, but a lot of them are in bad shape. Damaged, rotten and dirty, like most of the outside area. Unfortunately I have to say, it's Thai style... Build something first and then let it go to waste or only take care of it poorly. You can really save yourself the time and the entrance fee (like almost everywhere, Farangs pay considerably more: Thais 50 THB - Farangs 110 THB). NOT RECOMMENDABLE

Really good. They manage the knowledge and places very well. A lot of fossil from trees and dinosaurs have been shown in this museum. Recommend to visit.

Surprised at finding such a pre-historic museun in Korat. Informative, well-presented and nice grounds. Many artifcats and displays were well organized. Also had a 5-D video show, could have done without the hanfing Christmas lights though.

It is a good place worth studying, researching, traveling, admiring. It's a pity that few people know about it. I didn't know there was a good place like this. And there should be a guide to give knowledge and promote, which would be great.

A nice Dinosaur museum in the middle of nowhere. Exhibits are a bit mixed and sometimes unrelated but it is obvious that the management and staff really care about the museum. They put a lot of thought and love into the limited space. We absolutely recommend a visit, especially for families with children.

A nice regional family friendly museum. The museum is about 20 minutes outside of Karut and plan on 2-3 hours to see everything. There is a nice display of local fossils with models and animatronics. There are also petrified logs.

A large variety of fossils and petrified tree samples. I was most impressed with the petrified wood and elephant exhibits. My daughter was not a fan of the animatronic dinosaurs, and I didn't care for them myself, but no dinosaur fossil exhibit would be complete without them. The only drawback was signage, which might dissuade a tourist who isn't proficient in Thai. While English signage is present, there is not enough of it, and my own Thai language skills are still below the level required for a full comprehension of the museum.

The "Fossils and Probiscidean" museum. Fascinating place to spend a couple of hours. The sections on elephant ancestors and dinosaurs are first class and will delight adults and children alike

Khorat is one of the richest areas in Thailand for archaeology especially in Petrified wood, fossil dinosaurs and ancient Elephants. Good place for everybody to come. The museum is separated into 3 parts for Petrified wood, fossil dinosaurs and ancient Elephants.

It's not as bad as I expected. The isn't too much foot traffic. Need more English material in the museum for international visitors.

I've given the venue a generous ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - the dinosaur and elephant exhibitions have improved substantially since I last visited a few years ago. Just a few tweaks (better lighting) and an improvement here and there would make this a memorable day out. Nevertheless it is still an excellent venue for folk interested in the ancient World; beautiful fossilised wood (grain and vascular structures still clear), whole ancestral elephant species and an awe-inspiringly huge dinosaur skeleton almost touching the ceiling from head to tail - plus animatronic dinosaurs scary enough to freeze young children, believe me 😄

Goood place to learn.... Have some students from the SUT university to explain everything about the fossils.

Amazing place for the children but also to learn about fossils, petrified wood, Earth formation, dinosaurs, ... Went there a Saturday morning and we were almost alone
