My
main
reason
for
going
on
this
was
to
learn
about
Northern
Thai
cuisine.
I
was
a
little
disappointed
at
the
relatively
lack
of
information
given
on
this
tour
-
ie
what
makes
Thai
cuisine
unique
?
What
are
the
different
spices/
herbs
used
...
but
our
guide
did
not
appear
to
know
much
about
the
food
itself,
he
was
more
of
a
generic
tourist
guide.
But
we
did
eat
alot
hence
the
4
stars.
I
will
describe
what
we
did
and
ate.
We
were
taken
to
2
night
food
markets
in
Chiang
Mai.
We
ate
a
slow
cooked
pork
with
star
anise
and
clove,
sticky
rice,
green
mango
salad,
kao
soi
(
chicken
noodle
curry),
sticky
rice
and
mango,
coconut
and
sweetcorn
mini
potatoes
and
a
few
other
dishes.
So
great
for
the
food
tasting,
but
I
didn't
learn
anything.
That's
OK
if
you
just
want
to
try
the
food
but
are
not
the
interested
in
the
cultural
background
to
dishes
or
how
to
make
things.
