I have visited River Kwai Village Hotel a few times. The last 3 times I have tried to book down on the river (Raft room), but each time I have been told they had closed them down, also this time when only the new wing was open. However, it turned out to be a half-truth, because there were a few companies who were staying partly in the Raft Room and Pool wing. The new wing (Cliff wing) is beautiful to look at. The room had a large bed for 4 people, I would have preferred two single beds over this. The pool at Cliff wing, like so many other hotel pools, was not one I wanted to use, it stank strongly of chlorine, typically after the water has been destroyed due to other guests who do not wash themselves before a trip into the water, after which large amounts of chlorine must be added. The kitchen leaves a lot to be desired, e.g. could the chef visit Mc. Donald and see what a burger looks like. There was wine to buy, at an insane price for a table wine that wasn't even kept cool. Booking the rooms was something of an ordeal, the hotel has tried to make itself invisible on the web in terms of an email address.

Something to do different. Rooms were clean and friendly staff. Food was decent, but you really have to dictate how you want your mix drinks prepared. Just make sure you have mosquito repellent and inspect your room for mosquitoes.

This hotel is comfortable for large group likes companies's trip cause it has many activities to do spa, adventure, camping something like that. As seen it is pretty old right now. I suggest that if you not interest in onsen and spa ,I don't recommend this hotel. There are another choice better in the same price. And for the reservation is hard to contact them and take a long time until they replied back. The room is good but less facilities. The nearest convenience store locate around 10km from hotel.

This hotel is old and obviously hasn’t been updated since it was built in the 80s. The room smelt of mould, there was no hot water, while the tv and bar fridge are antiques. Food is very average and there isn’t a quite bar in the whole place. The only positive is the view of the river from the balcony. This hotel is tacky, touristic and disappointing.

Quiet getaway. Spacious room (2 queen beds). Hard bed like Thai style which I love. Free snack and soda in the room. Going to Onsen and Spa (15 pools) by boat (2min). Feel like locals. Very convenient!

This is a great place for a family and or group activities. Facilities are updated, surroundings are beautiful and the food was decent. The pool is great! We went with a middle school and all activities were well organized. The resort is remote, so come prepared to stay, relax, have some fun and enjoy yourself.

We overnight at this hotel during our tour. A good hotel with beautiful views from everywhere, interesting furnishings, a spacious green area around the hotel to walk and to relax. A good pool, big enough. A cozy bar to have a drink, but a bit limited choice of drinks - e.g. no any wine and vodka on the menu, although they have few kinds of beer, some whiskey, sweet liqueurs, smoothies, soda. Room was comfortable with great view to the river, with balcony, old TVset, fridge, all toiletries in the bathroom, but no wi-fi in the room and upstairs, I could catch it only downstairs. 1 hour massage session in this hotel was included in our tour package, and I did not like that massage at all, sorry; it looked like - "ok, get your included hour of massage and go away, we do it just because we have to do it" - that was my personal impression of my massage lady, no comfort, no relaxation. But anyway, I recommend this hotel as I liked staying there!

It's quite noisy airconditioning in the River Wing room. This resort is quite private and difficult to go out to the shop or else where if you don't have your own transportation so make sure to bring your swimming suit and your books with you. After paying 50% of room fee as deposit one month earlier i was taken aback when rather than hello youre welcome the resort asked me to pay the remaining cost of three rooms for five nights when upon arrival and checking in so please be aware. No welcome drink just 'Credit card please!' The trees and garden is beautiful and their swimming pools are great though. Honestly it was splendid once upon a time but a bit 'tired and needs updating. Good WiFi if groups out on trips.

This hotel is just a piece of paradise 😍 Very quiet and peaceful fare from noise. Also you can chose to do many activities such as extreme activities or just chilling in hot springs and massage. The staff is is very kind also. Thanks a lot !
