Great local restaurant with very tasty northern food. We tried the fried fish with garlic, which many reviewers recommend, and it was good but I actually enjoyed the other dishes that we ordered even more. Fresh ingredients and distinctive flavors. Staff was helpful and attentive without being overly so. I thought the food and service were both better here than at the riverfront restaurants in town. Large seating area and plenty of parking along the road outside the restaurant.

If you’re here, then you have to order the Pla Tabtim Tod Gratiem (Fried Fish), it’s spammed with tons of fried garlic which is very very delicious. Tried 2 other dishes, Jeen Neung (Beef served with Nam Prik Kha) & Tom Sab Moo (Boiled Pork Soup). Both have very exquisite taste which would carter more towards the local. Personally I like both of these dishes but it may not be for everyone.

A very busy restaurant at dinner time but the service is quick enough. We ordered fried fish with garlic, northern Thai sausage, mango salad and bbq pork. All were great except the fish was a tad dry. Overall, I would recommend dining here.

Maybe we caught them on an off day, food was very very average. Service was poor, asked them to split the order before we sat down and when it came we had to ask them again to split it. Many better options in town with better food and service .

Definitely recommend checking out this place if you happen to be in Chiang Rai. Food was excellent and I especially enjoyed the mango salad. There’s parking right across from the restaurant so it’s convenient too

One of most popular restaurants among locals, quite busy all day long, it’s good idea to arrive early to avoid queue. We tried their recommended dishes, fried fish with garlic was the best, pork dishes were quite good too. Lots of fresh vegetables are given to compliment the meat. All in all, solid place to have a taste of northern style food for a reasonable price.

When most people who eat our locals, then you know you got a gem. The deep fried fish with deep fried garlic is a MUST. Delicious, crunchy goodness. And oh that garlic is just bliss. We also ordered roasted pork which was not bad too. The beef tendon soup was too spicy though for our liking. Service was good. We arrived around 10:30AM so thankfully the restaurant was not yet packed but based on other reviews the place gets packed.

7 May 2022 Here again to experience authentic Thai food...yummy! Review 3 years ago I would gladly give this place a 5 stars for its food. This is a local restaurant and there are lots of local. If the food is not as per the Thai standard. you would not see this crowd. Guess the only foreigners is my family. Do ask for menu in English. Comes with pictures and correct translated English. Go fo the recommended dishes, you would not go wrong. Ordered Thai sausage, fried pork, Pork curry. fried fish with garlic and dish of stirred fried veggie. It is more than enough for 4 pax. Taste is good and very well cooked. Not much of presentation and ambience. What would you expect the decor to be, for fine dinning? Make sure you have insect repellant with you especially in summer. Enjoy!

First time eating this type of food and it was pretty good. We took the advice from other reviews and ordered the Fried Garlic Fish. Didn't realise they deep fry whole garlic. It's actually really good! Under all that garlic is some tasty fish too. They have cut and cooked it in small fillets so easy to eat as well. English menu with popular dishes noted which was also helpful.

I would give this a 6 star if I could. The signature dish of red curry pork soup is to die for. I have eaten here 2-3 times a week since I moved to Chiang Rai. I usually get the Mango Salad as well which is also excellent and I have not felt the need to order anything else - which gets me some questioning looks from the waitress(s).

One of the best local northern food restaurants in Chiang Rai, recommend for spicy beef soup(tom-zap-en-kaew), northern food starter(Hors d'oeuvre muang), Suea rong hai. It will more tasty with beer and friend

Good northern Thai dishes. Roast pork was half meaty and half fat which tasted great. Spicy beef soup was also very good and rich in ingredients. Very popular with locals and tourists alike as people come and go the entire night. Reasonably priced.

Can't get any better than this. A must visit place if you are in Chiang rai. Great place for authentic northern Thai food. Real taste of the local. Service is ok and the price is reasonable.

Yum yum yum. Away from the center of town which is where you find the best local food. The Tom Saep Moo soup, ต้มแซบหมู number 57 on the menu was especially good.

Tried most of the Mark Wiens recommended dishes. I've visited them thrice during my stay and my most favourite is Tom Sab Moo. Wish it was a bit less crowded most of the time. 1 less star because of the excess crowd and the orders get a bit messed up sometimes.
