Not sure how I feel about this place, I came across some chained up elephants in the back of the compound (they said to keep the elephants safe, because they were understaffed )...I hope the elephants here are truly well taken off even with the tourists not present...Let's continue to educate the public NOT to abuse these beautiful majestic creatures. More power to those already doing all they can to help the elephants!

This was an incredible experience. It's well worth the hour ride from Chiang Mai to Ran-Tong Elephant santuary. When else will you have an opportunity to meet, feed and take pictures with such a gentle big animal? The caretakers are extremely nice and patient with the animals as well as visitors. I suggest bringing flip flops and change of underwear, if you intend to participate in the mud bath and river washing.

It was really really fun! Elephants looks like are treated good, our guide Limmy was on point. I have nothing bad to say about this place. We did many activities like take a bath with the elephants, make them eat bananas and sugar cane, teached us how to cut sugar cane, we had a lunch, took alot of pictures... But all of that with Limmy! He's awesome!

Everything went well, and the elephants seemed happy. Just note that they don't have hot water to shower in after playing with the elephants.

To spend time with elephants in Thailand has never been in my bucket list. Simply joined in with the rest of our travel buddies and ended up with an experience of a lifetime! The half-day at Ran-Tong was quality time with these gigantic brothers/sisters...preparing their food/feeding/mud-massage and bath time! I did feel anxious at first but found my ease with them which made me enjoy every moment and even felt emotional with one, Kunrud, as he was so gentle! Well done to all the Mahouts, paid- and volunteer-staff, to the owner, the one who had a vision for this safe place for the elephants! And thank you to the elephants who allowed us in their safe space!

👍 Ideally I planned on just getting some drinks but was convinced to order some food for a free ATV ride around the facility if we ordered at least 1,000 baht but ultimately not doing it. However the atmosphere was super chill. They have a lot of photo sections worthy of any influencer’s Instagram.

👍👍 NOTE: if you want to run around on the inflatables (and zip line, high jump, etc.), make sure you go to the correct entrance!!!! It’s a bit more expensive than the standard “Grand Canyon” experience but well worth it for a day of fun. Huge water cannons keep the toys cool and slick so you don’t burn...

👍👍 Most amazing experience of our trip to Thailand. Definitely worth it if you have time and like animals. We got to hang out with elephants all day and help out and observe with their daily routine. First they eat, then a quick hike to the river, where it's bath time. After lunch, they coat themselve...
