I’m torn when giving rating to this hotel. On one hand, this is a beatifully renovated boutique hotel. It is lovely and charming. It has history (as the name suggests, it used to be an old publishing house). The location is good (within walking distance to several attractions). The staff were friendly and helpful. It has met and exceeded all our expectations, except one critical area... It’s hardly their fault, as the hotel is located right next to the main road, but the noise level is too serious to be ignored especially if you’re a light sleeper. This doesn’t help at all that their rooms are all facing the road, however it gets worse if your room is on the lower floor (2nd). I’m not sure if anything can be done on sound proofing on the building to reduce noise level in the rooms (these decisions on building materials should have been made during the renovation), but I would encourage the hotel’s management to consider it. My suggestion to other guests is to make sure your room is on a higher floor (3rd) to minimize noise from the street. In summary, if you don’t mind the noise level and look for a unique hotel with great characters, this is THE ONE.

This extraordinary place is an example of a truly committed team who are devoted to provide the guests with a memorable experience. The aesthetic choices are carefully considered and celebrate the historic past of the building. The sage ghosts of printing past roam these beloved hallways and they watch over guests attuned to their fine sense of taste, the level of service by the staff is unparalleled, even so called 5 star luxury brands cannot compare to the warm genuine, human care practiced here.

Very rude person who opened the door. We came to have a look at the room and the property as we intend to book this place. We saw this rather interesting property online and we thought we’ll have a look since we are already in the area. After being told that they are full, we graciously asked if we can at least just have a quick look at the common spaces just to get a feel of the property. But this guy quickly shut the door while saying “no, no”. If he does not speak English or don’t understand anything, he should at least get someone, rather than just shutting the door like we’re beggars asking for money. We came here to bring in business. We plan to book for 5 rooms. Appalling behaviour. You need to train your staff.

Love the look and feel of this boutique hotel. The perfect place to relax and have some tranquility before rushing back into the bustling city. Highly recommend! Update: it’s been three weeks and I miss their beds so much. Most comfortable bed and linens I’ve ever come across!

Staying at the Bangkok Publishing residence is like steeping into a fabulous novel and becoming one of the fantastic characters in it. The staff are above and beyond, they all feel like old friends who you haven’t seen for a while. There is real care. The building, the foyer, the rooms are all a visual feast. Such an aesthetic comes from a careful eye, it’s personal and unique. Nothing has been overlooked. Walking around the immediate area is a delight, one feels very included into the community. And not to forget that crossing the bridge you’re stepping into Bangkoks old city, which is great to circumnavigate before retiring to your room to feast on all the carefully curated reading material on offer. I can’t recommend experiencing this hotel enough. Kop Kun Kaa 🙏

A great place to stay if one which to explore the old Bangkok.... temples, museums, food , boat ride and etc. BPR itself is a place to explore ... design theme from a Publishing house, lots of private collections, from childhood toys to Honda Monkey Bike, a library, with lots of English language books , unique hallway and stairways, dual shuttle door lift, video arcade machine, pinballs machine..... many more stuffs u don’t get to see much nowadays. The traffic noise pollution can be annoying for some but BPR provides a simple remedy ... Earplugs for light sleeper... basically don’t need after many miles of walking and a comfortable bed. Great job for preserving the Bangkok Printing House especially the old mild steel windows. Ahhh... the motivated and warm hospitality staffs definitely made wife and my stay at BPR another notch up to visit BKK again.

Terrific place to stay in Bangkok. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Rooms are tidy. Although it’s not located in the down town, the ferry station is just around the corner which is quite easy to hop on and get into to the city center. Highly recommended!
