Don't forget to make advance reservations on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays! ! There is a restaurant, but honestly it's not very good. I think it's a good idea to bring a lunch box. There are places where you can eat indoors, and you can also eat outside. The parking lot is large, but it gets crowded around noon, so you might want to go in the morning or after 3pm. There is a souvenir corner. It was small, but it was enough. Very satisfied with the museum. I can stay for one day. it was fun. The children were also happy.

Tickets are available for inside only, outside only, and inside + outside. You can enjoy it just outdoors!

I think it's mainly for cars, but there are 1000 free parking spaces. --- Added June 2023 I visited for the first time in 5 or 6 years, but since it was a reservation system, I hurriedly made a reservation because it was near the museum. (It happened to be empty, but please note that reservations are required!) Also, before I knew it, the ``fossil excavation experience'' at the ``Nature Discovery Workshop'' had ended. The reason is ``fossil depletion,'' and it cannot be performed except during events. So, I think I might not go again because it's less appealing... --- This is a sacred place for ``fossil lovers'' that only those in the know know. The reason is that it is one of the few museums that has a permanent curator who can perform fossil appraisals. *By the way, there is no permanent curator at the National Museum of Nature and Science, so they will ask you to go to Tsukuba. If you only have a ticket for the outdoor facility at the Ibaraki Prefectural Natural Museum (210 yen for adults, 100 yen for high school/university students, 50 yen for elementary/middle school students), you can experience a free shellfish fossil excavation experience. Each person can take home up to five excavated shells. There is a sandbox brought in from geological formations from over 100,000 years ago, and you can excavate various shellfish fossils with a shovel in hand. You can find really round fossils. Furthermore, as for what kind of shellfish they unearthed, there is a specimen, so you can go home feeling refreshed knowing that it is a ``◯◯ shellfish.'' Since there is a lot of sandy ground, it is recommended that your child wear clothes that they don't mind getting dirty, or bring a change of clothes.

Came on a Saturday at 230 and was not too busy. You do need to book in advance and they don't accept you in unless you have a booking. Adults are 750 yen and kids were 150 yen but on the day we came was free for kids. They had a few display which were really cool, dinosaurs and insects were highlights. They have a large outdoor space as well which you can walk or even sit and eat. Parking was large and free.

It's a place that kids love. The dinosaurs in the museum are real. I spent the morning at the museum, and in the afternoon I went outside and had fun. I haven't excavated it yet, so I'll try it next time. This place is spacious and I think you can see different scenery and enjoy it in different seasons. I think adults can also relax in the natural atmosphere.

I went on a Sunday with an advance reservation between 10:30 and 11:00. I showed the reservation homepage on my phone, bought a ticket, and entered without lining up. Preschool children are free. After all, it's a facility that dinosaur lovers can't get enough of because it's so packed with attractions for such a reasonable price. You can enjoy fossils, taxidermy, moving dinosaur models, space, a small aquarium, and more in the large museum. If you bring your own lunch, you can eat it in the air-conditioned seminar space. There is a cafeteria on B1, but there was a long line. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there is a 2 hour limit. The kids were so excited that they immediately fell asleep in the car on the way home. I would like to take him again.

(Translated by Google) I removed the fossils of shellfish. I wanted to get one proper fossil because it's okay to pay. The fossils of the leaves are 3 or more small, so My family of small 1 and small 3 has no choice but to make fossils of shellfish Still, the word of mouth was good, so I expected it. I was disappointed. There is no one around me who makes a noise about getting fossils. I came to the park because I wanted to please my children I'm sad. However, I was able to play in the open space on my way home and go home in good mood. I will come again when my younger child becomes 3rd grade. .. .. 。。

I have an annual pass, but there are special exhibitions there, so I never get tired of going there. It's currently a special exhibition of ``jewels,'' but it's worth seeing.

(Translated by Google) In the Kanto museum, it seems to be quite popular. Elementary school students are delighted to be able to dig out shells, albeit artificial, in the open space for maintenance of nature, abundance of insects, and fossil excavation. The fossils, skeleton samples, and robot dinosaurs have been upgraded throughout the museum. I will never get bored for hours. You can tour and study carefully. You can download a learning worksheet from HP.
