We absolutely loved our stay at Jam. Xi, the owner, and her adorable baby Nan made the place feel like home. Xi is there every day and leads all of the walking tours. We especially enjoyed the tour of Wat Arun where we met a saintly meditation master. The rooms were clean and tastefully designed with good air conditioning. We really enjoyed hanging out in the common room and socializing with other guests. This is not a party hostel, but it isn’t difficult to find some friends to enjoy a drink with. They even have a rooftop bar where you can enjoy live music and a cold drink. We were sad to leave!

My stay at Jam Hostel Bangkok was an unforgettable experience, filled with numerous positives and just a few minor downsides. To begin with, the staff was absolutely exceptional. They were not only welcoming and friendly but also incredibly helpful, ensuring that I felt right at home from the moment I arrived. Their warm hospitality and valuable assistance made my stay truly enjoyable. One highlight of my stay was the array of group activities organized by the hostel. These activities were not only a lot of fun but also a fantastic way to connect with fellow travelers. They added a vibrant and social dimension to my time there. The rooms at Jam Hostel were a delightful surprise. I opted for a single room with an attached bathroom, and I was pleased to find it well-equipped and impeccably clean. It provided all the comforts I needed for a relaxing stay. As for the breakfast, the inclusion of a complimentary breakfast was a definite bonus. It made mornings hassle-free and allowed me to start my day on a high note. However, I must mention that the only downside I encountered during my stay was the infrequent room cleaning. Despite indicating my need for cleaning, my room was attended to only once over my five-day stay. While a minor inconvenience, it's worth noting. Additionally, the availability of washing machines on the ground floor, priced at a reasonable 50 baht, was quite convenient. Last but certainly not least, the rooftop restaurant with its breathtaking view provided an ideal setting for enjoying meals and soaking in the scenery. In conclusion, Jam Hostel Bangkok truly deserves its 5-star rating, with the complimentary breakfast being a standout feature. Despite the occasional room cleaning issue, I eagerly anticipate my return for another delightful stay in the future.

I loved staying at Jam so much I extended my stay. My room was a private room which was modern, clean and affordable with air con and en suite but the real showstopper of the hostel in the amazing manager Xi and her gorgeous son Nan. Xi and her team went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, the daily group activities meant I had lots of chances to get to know other travellers which I really enjoyed also. Xi has great recommendations and is always thinking about ways to make the guest experience above and beyond, by the end of my stay I felt I had made a friend not just had exceptional service! The hostel also has some nice garden areas, great wifi, yummy fresh fruits for breakfast and activities such as meditation, opportunities to talk with Buddhist monks, visiting markets and Thai boxing live. It has the perfect balance between being social and a calm oasis amongst a busy city. Thanks for a great stay!

I stayed here for about a week. The staff is super friendly, the free breakfast is a huge plus, and the events the hostel runs are always a blast. Right next door to a party hostel bur quite enough to enjoy yourself.

This is a really nice hostel. The rooms are clean with air con. The staff are very kind and happy to help with anything you're looking for information on and they organise group activities during the day. The location is great, it's a few minutes walk to the main tourist streets in Bangkok and right by the pier so you can easily jump on the bus boats up and down the city. I highly recommend Jam hostel.

Staff was extremely friendly and genuinely wanted to help you. Xi took the time to educate us on many scams and Pim explained many things I was unsure of. Everyday there's a new activity that the staff will take you to, which is unique in the sense that they take you to places that aren't flooded with tourists. It's not a party hostel but has that chill, social atmosphere! Highly recommended.

Great hostel near Khao San Road. Nice and relatively quiet rooms, as well as free breakfast, and a kitchen you can use. Also felt really secure, since you can only enter via key card. Payment by credit card cost an extra 3%. We had a small, nice and clean double room. Only cons for us were the dim lighting in the bathroom and the a/c which needed quite some time to cool down the room. Also it was hard to the a shower without flooding the rest of the bathroom. They also regularly offer various free tours and activities such as a night market tour, and have a rooftop bar. We didn't have time to check those out however. Shout out to the super friendly and lovely young woman at the reception.

The location of this hostel is very good. It is centrally located in the old city. The rooms are smaller in size. The bunks are comfortable and washrooms are clean. Lockers are present in all rooms. The also have paid self laundary service. The breakfast is free. The common area is small but clean.

I stayed here both times I visited Bangkok because it's the perfect place to go to both get to know Thai people and culture, and also meet travelers from all over the world and make friends. I can't wait to go back there!

Xi promised us on email that there will be someone at the reception when we arrive late at night from our flight. We’ve been waiting here for so long and there’s no one answering our calls or even available at this hostel. I’m shocked and very disappointed

Xi is a great hostel manager and curates events for the hostel that are more authentic and local than the typical night market or floating market trips. Stayed in a private room, showers are small but still functional, AC was good, bed is firmer but not a big deal. The smaller lounge area in the lobby/kitchen made for meeting people easier, smaller but by no means in a bad way! Originally booked two nights at Mad Monkey as well but cancelled that as it was right next door and stayed another two nights here.

I cannot speak highly enough of this place, stayed in both a private room for a couple nights and shared dorm for a night. The service is fantastic, the owner Xi, she is extremely kind and friendly and very willing to help. Both rooms were very clean, well equipped with comfortable beds. The rooms are definitely worth the price. The breakfast is also nice with lots of fresh fruit and omelletes. The communal garden is lovely, full of flowers and plants, right on a canal. The place has a chill vibe where you can socialise with other travelers and visit the rooftop bar but can also just completely chill out. It's located within a 10 minute walk of great couple streets full of bars and great places to eat. In 10 weeks, we return to Bangkok for one night before we fly home and we will definitely be staying again for that night.

This hostel is one of the best. The rooms are a bit cramped, but are clean with everything working as it should. On the top floor there is a restaurant /bar but it seems to be separate from the hostel and overpriced. There is another roof terrace outside the main communal area which is much better. The hostel is very chilled and sells both beers and grass, but they are fine with guests bringing beer in from 7-Eleven which is just over the road and cheaper.

I ended up for a week there and it was quite nice. The rooms are a bit small but it works and it is relatively silent in the evening. The hostel offers events throughout the week which are free and fun! You can share taxis to locations which are further away and save a lot of money. The girls who work there as receptionists deserve a lot of praise because they are really cool and I saw them everyday and they were super nice and social :) This is not a party hostel, however, you exit the hostel and walk two meters to get to "Mad Monkey Hostel" and theres always something going on so you can just join in there and have a decent sleep at Jam Hostel

Stayed over New Year's. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and tidy. The beds were cozy and had curtains. The hostel provides free breakfast, you can use the kitchen and store stuff in the fridge. I really enjoyed my stay and felt very welcome during my stay. Can highly recommend them!

I stayed in a women's dormitory room for four. It was good that the locker was big. However, there is a lot of noise when the air conditioner is running. The bed and common space are clean, but there are no curtains on the private bed. I'm going again. Make sure to put curtains on the girls' room!!🙏🙏

If I could leave 100 stars I would! I can’t say enough good things about Jam, the staff, and the people I met while staying here. Great place for solo travelers looking to meet new friends. I did the bike tour and night market which were both great. This is a wonderfully social hostel that attracts a great crowd, and you can use Mad Monkey’s pool next door for free. A/C in the dorms was cold, it was quiet, the beds were comfy and private. I felt safe and so happy here. Conveniently located. I’ll be coming back here for sure! Thank you Xi (manager) and everyone else <3

Very clean, hygienic and close to the city center. I landed in Bangkok at night & had a difficulty in reaching the location. But fortunately, once i was there, it was good. There is a 7/11 nearby to get all your essentials. Secondly, they arrange good sightseeing at a reasonable price. I had a very good experience with jam hostel. Thank you :)

Spacious room, great location and very good service! I really enjoyed my stay in Jam hostel. If you are a solo traveler, this is your place. Super easy to meet people and socialize! If you like to have party then Mad Monkey hostel is just next door! :)

Wonderful place! I had an absolute blast each day that I stayed here. Made so many friends here as a solo traveler, which was really easy as a lot of the guests were super nice and social. Things are super chill here whether you want to go out with others or just kick back and relax. The people running the hostel are very friendly and are always looking into organizing events to bring the guests together. My only regret when coming to Bangkok is not booking a room here sooner as I missed out on some really cool events like the community dinner! I'll definitely come back here when I return to Thailand

100/10. This was my favorite hostel I stayed in in Bangkok. Incredible social without being “too party”. The rooms/bathrooms are clean and comfy. Manager Xi leads amazing tours. The crowd here is really open to socializing and it’s easy to make friends. Plus, the location is close to Khao San without being right on the middle of mayhem. You HAVE to stay here if you are backpacking

We had a private room which was cozy, but functional and with a nice bathroom, AC and a lot of places to put stuff. The breakfast is basic (Cereal, Toast, Jam, Fruits, Coffe & Tea), but it’s free and that’s great. What sets this hostel apart are the free events / tours it organizes (one for everyday). They are a great opportunity to get to know the city but also your fellow travelers and We really appreciate the commitment that goes into organizing these tours. This Hostel in general is a great social hostel where you get to meet people while also being calm and relaxed, which we really appreciated.

V limited activities and reception staff was not very accommodative. They had no idea where the hostel activities were happening, left people who had signed up for them and even refused late checkout by one hour. Beds were clean, but the rooms were quite tiny and almost claustrophobic. Breakfast didn’t have any options for vegans unfortunately and connectivity is at best average given that there is no train station close by and the buses are unpredictable. Overall, very average experience.

The people that work here have amazing hospitality and do everything they can for their guests. I have stayed here twice now. I recently had an issue with my room and they were very accommodating in helping me sort out the situation.

I'm really glad I decided to book this hostel this time around in Bangkok. Awesome location, staff is always accommodating and helpful, and the social atmosphere is unmatched. I met so many great people here, and continued travelling on with a few of them.

Super clean and comfy beds. The staff are delightful. I didn't get a chance to socialise much but there seemed to be a lot of social activities. Would stay again!

Great hostel! There's not a huge amount of space in the rooms but they are very clean and sleek and the beds are comfortable. The staff are all incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and they've got organized activities that are great for meeting new people. Great value for money and perfect location in Bangkok of you want to see the main sights!

  • 5/5 Kristopher B. P. 4 years ago on Google
The staff are adorable. The hostel is really clean. Beds are wide and comfy. The breakfast are really nice even though we sometimes came short on milk. The activities that the hostel organizes are a must. They don’t charge anything for it, we only split the taxi and pay the entry fees if needed. The location of the place is perfect. Look no more, choose this hostel.

First of all, Xi is one of the best hostel managers out there. Hands down. I had one of the best experiences I've ever had through a hostel because of her. If I ever return, I will absolutely stay again just because I now consider Xi my friend! Secondly, my stay at the hostel was very pleasant. The sleeping quarters were quiet, lockers were big, and beds had curtains. The common area had a nice amount of seating and often had a friendly atmosphere. I stayed in a 4-person dorm and loved it. The rooftop bar is kinda high-class but I went up for a drink to watch the sunset one night and it was 100% worth it.
