Wat Thang Sai is hilltop pagoda built in 1996 to commemorate the 50th year of King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s reign. The pagoda (Pramahatart Chedi Pakdepragard) is located on a headland (Tong Chai Mountain) about 3km outside the village of Ban Krut. Easily accessible by either motorbike, taxi, bicycle or on foot. There is parking at the top of the hill near the seated Buddha and it’s a short walk to the pagoda. There are some good views to the South but the best views to the North are now sadly obscured by trees. The pagoda is open from 9am although it’s possible to enter the grounds before this time - just enter through the unlocked gate. Try to go early if you want to avoid your groups which arrive by 9am.

A very beautiful temple that is well worth the time and effort to visit. Would be good to allow 2hrs for the visit. The view from the 2nd floor of the temple is outstanding. Information: The amulet in the buddha heart is for offering and not for rent. There is not English signage.

One of the most detailed temples I have been so far. Lovely design, a lot of detailed wall paintings and stained glass and the view from the upper level over the coast is awesome.

Wat Tang Sai, one of the most spectacular temples in Thailand. It has a beautiful golden Buddha statue at the temple on the top of Thongchai mountain, Prachuap Khirikhan, Thailand. A supernatural atmosphere around and it's about four hours from Bangkok.

An incredibly beatiful multi level temple thai symbolizes the levels of Buddhist cosmology. The temple houses some ancient and sacred Buddha relics and is under patronage. Amazing views of the headlands from every level and two large yaks or giants stand guard over the main gate. Highly recommend this temple for a visit.

Interesting place for a quick stop as it’s high up on a hill overlooking the sea and Nan Krut bay and beautiful beach. It’s about a 200 metre walk uphill to the top. Some interesting stained glass windows

One of the best temples to visit in Thailand. Opens at 10.00 though google says 8.30. Beautiful view over the gulf.

The temple is clean, well maintained and in close contact with nature. It is located on the top of a hill and thanks to that, there is a beautiful sight on every corner of the building. There are also a big statue of the sitting Buddha and the two warrior-giants representing the Thai culture to be visited. It's a place worth to be visited!

Beautiful Temple in an outstanding location. Very clean and easy to navigate your way around. Well worth a visit if your looking to break up the relaxing days that Ban Krut guarantees

Beautiful temple with beautiful stained glass windows. The signboard at the entrance says no photos in the pagoda but the Temple guard/guide said we can take photos. Just ask if you are not sure.
