I
did
a
one-off
Western
boxing
lesson
here.
My
trainer
was
clearly
an
excellent
boxer
in
his
own
right,
but
didn't
seem
to
have
much
experience
as
a
trainer.
Or
if
he
did,
it
was
only
with
similarly
young,
professional
athletes
I
guess.
I'm
a
woman
in
my
mid-40s
and
started
boxing
just
over
a
year
and
half
ago,
a
couple
times
a
week.
So
I
have
a
foundation,
but
I
started
rather
late
in
life.
Whenever
I
travel
I
seek
out
gyms
and
try
to
take
lessons
with
different
trainers,
so
I
know
what
is
and
is
not
possible
in
a
one-off
session,
i.e.,
I
have
realistic
expectations.
I
know
the
kid
who
trained
me
had
perfectly
fine
intentions,
but,
especially
for
the
price
I
paid
(not
the
cheapest
gym),
I
would
have
expected
someone
with
more
experience
training,
or
at
least
better
able
to
handle
the
abilities
and
expectations
of
someone
with
my
profile.
He
was
trying
to
get
me
to
do
various
combos
that
were
challenging
for
me,
but
then
he
wouldn't
let
me
repeat
enough
to
actually
get
them,
he'd
just
move
onto
something
else
that
was
again
too
challenging
for
me
to
get
immediately,
then
again
give
up
too
soon
and
move
on
to
the
next
thing.
And
this
went
on
for
most
of
the
hour,
so
that
I
basically
left
feeling
pretty
demoralized.
The
space
is
great,
and
two
friends
who
were
with
me
had
a
Muay
Thai
lesson
that
they
thoroughly
enjoyed,
so
I
tried
to
brush
off
the
negative
aspects
of
the
experience,
but
they've
really
been
gnawing
at
me
more
and
more
ever
since,
so
I
felt
the
need
to
leave
this
review.
From
the
reviews
it
seems
other
people
have
had
wonderful
experiences
here,
so
maybe
it's
just
not
the
place
for
someone
with
my
profile.
But
it
is
the
one
negative
experience
I've
had
training
in
nearly
a
dozen
different
cities
in
the
world
now.
