I really enjoyed learning about the Lanna Culture, their beliefs, traditions and way of life. A simple life, but a good life. The site of the museum is dwarfed by an enormous skyscraper behind throwing the old tradition way of living into sharp juxtaposition with modern life. This beautiful wooden house dates back to 1848 and was moved meticulously to the current site from near Chiang Mai in 1963. An information leaflet in English is available. A donation of 100 Bhat is requested, well worth it. Do go visit if you are in the area.

Not worth visiting. The entry is supposedly free, but they explicitly ask for donation. Once you go up, there is a QR code for 3 documents about the "museum". They mention multimedia contents, sounds, videos, etc. None of those to be found. There is nothing that explains what's in the museum. It looks like a bunch of stuff just thrown in there. A complete waste of time. All you can do is taking few pictures.

Another one of Bangkok's hidden gems, I think. It's just up the street from the Sukhumvit MRT station, and the museum provided some interesting insights to Lanna culture. It's 100 Baht to get in, and there's lots of information about early Thai traditions. Descriptions about the artifacts and displays are written in both Thai and English. You can see everything in an hour or two, but I've been back a few times just to enjoy the culture.

Nice traditional houses but seems to be shut for renovation or reorganization. The Siam Society next door has an interesting little book shop and promising lectures scheduled, but otherwise there’s little reason to venture here.

Not much to see. It takes 100 B to see the house and actually there are not many things to see. However, if you love history, this palce has a bit information about typical Thai Village.

Very nice, well maintained, big enough house. Interesting exposition, good descriptions in English, and not crowded. Worth visit if you are into Thai history

A nice peaceful museum right amongst the action of Bangkok. And a good view into the past, definitely worth a visit if in the area

It is a small but nice place to visit if you have a very short time in Bangkok, very convenient to reach too by BTS or MRT Asoke Station. Here you can feel fresh from big tree and plants as it seems you are back to hundred year ago from the original Lanna style of this house. There is no guide but you can read and even watch from vdo in some rooms.

Easy to get to from Asok BTS station , but dissappointed to find all the artifacts had been removed as planned renovation next year. I did not see this information on the official Website and would have gone elsewhere has I have known.

Very small but nice old Thai style building to visit, to understand the classic living way of Siam people. Very hard to keep such a peaceful place in CBD.

Tucked in behind Black Canyon coffee. Cute, historic house and some lovely artifacts and descriptions of Lanna (Chiang Mai and northern, I think) life back in the day. Also did a good job of providing insight to spiritual beliefs and cultural norms for that time. I wanted to like this more, but the displays felt pretty amateur and were kept up like noone still cares there. Shame, because with some updated signage, teak oil and elbow grease, it could be just as alive and inviting as the Nai Lert property.

Nice Museum if you want to learn about the history of Thailand and the King's Family. Guided Tours through the Museum are possible if you like that.

Just up Asok from Terminal 21, if you have a spare half hour go and have a look at this old northern Thai house. It's free although they do ask for a donation.

Interesting place. Would have loved to know more but no signs up to explain things. Great scenery and lovely to visit but could be so much more if they made a bit more effort to educate.

I love anything which comes from Thai past, especially teak wooden houses. It could be improved but funds are missing, so you can give a donation when you visit.

Beautiful to see how the Thai people used to leave and how there houses looked like. Great place to understand part of this great country's history. Very much recommended!

Nice place to know about the culture and history of native Thai's. You need to take ticket of 100 Bhat to see the place. It's not very big place just one house with nicely preserved house hold contents. In one shot you can just cover entire house in 10 minutes. But if like to spend time to know history of the place then it can take a while.
