Believe me or not, I studdy in business and had many jobs in marketing. They tell every single locals that ride « took took » (smal thaï cars) to bring them every tourist at their place and to make you book your whole trip. They make you believe that they know everything about thaïland just to rip you off. The guy even told me in words: « We know we rip you off but thats just how it goes ». Two big guys from England that work there. I never did this of my life (writing a comment) but I just couldn’t stand seeing that guy (not even from thaïland I repeat) in front of me using local thaï people to rip off tourist and that guy had litterly no pith for tourist. Please do not listen to them book your things (hostel, hotel, bus ride) on internet it will be must cheaper. Thank you. Just don’t go there, tell the people that ride the « took took » that you guys already went. They will listen to you, just insist a bit don’t be shy, it’s their work, they do it becaue they don’t have any choice but they hate them I can’t guaranty you. I felt scammed as I received an offer over 43.000 baht for a round trip from Chiang mai to Phuket to kho Samui to Bangkok with transportation and accommodation. The hotels and flights I got offered were way more expensive than I found them or similar ones online. The women who served me felt uncomfortable when I took my phone and did some research for better prices. Can't recommend it.

I was taken to the Thai tourist office on Samsen road and stupidly agreed for them to book my transfers and slow boat for me - I now realise that they charged me almost five times the expected price 😭 and they also promised me the private slow boat over to Laos but when it came down to it I had to get on the public boat with tons of other people. Absolutely ripped off and scammed to within an inch of my life! Please don’t be stupid and naive like me.

I paid for a trip to Koh Chang then pick up and bus journey to Cambodian border with Visa pre paid at Bangkok TAT office, pick up didnt turn up made my own way to border no visa waiting had to pay again.
