I would say 1 star rating still holds significant value Complaint about Security Service and Unprofessional Behavior of Staff On that day, I booked a Grab taxi, and the assigned vehicle was a pickup truck. Unfortunately, as a customer, I had no option to choose the type of vehicle. The driver arrived and dropped me off at a hotel. Subsequently, a staff member approached me with an unfriendly tone, questioning why the Grab cab was there. I politely explained that I was a customer, and the driver confirmed the same. I then inquired if it was possible for Grab to drop customers off at the upper entrance, but the staff member did not respond and walked away, brushing me aside. I decided to investigate further and asked why the driver couldn't drop me off at the desired location. To my dismay, the security staff provided no explanation and instead laughed, saying, "It's just a pickup truck." This behavior is highly disrespectful and reflects a clear class distinction. If this is the policy set by your management, I would like to understand how such low standards are acceptable. Disparaging customers in this manner is both unprofessional and disheartening. I strongly urge you to reevaluate your policies and ensure that your staff treat all customers with the respect they deserve. Moreover, the incident was compounded by the lack of courtesy when another staff member looked down and laughed at my friend who was wearing shorts (Which we both are the customer at your coffee area and bought your stuffs). It is unacceptable for your staff to display such a lack of professionalism and decency. If shorts are not allowed in your premises, kindly display a notice at the hotel entrance instead of humiliating customers. I sincerely hope you take this feedback seriously and work towards improving the overall attitude, management, and service quality within your organization.

We've stayed at the most luxurious places around the world and we're currently here: - Rooms are not soundproof - you can hear everything in the corridors. Not worthy of a luxurious hotel - Took 40 minutes and 2 calls to get water to the room - "No short" rule after 6pm in the lobby. It's 39°C and 90% humidity outside - what a pretentious rule. Dress code in restaurants, bars - fine. But in the lobby of the hotel where you're spending thousands of dollars to reside is a joke. No one informed us of this until I got by 2 staff members with total disrespect. Absolutely unacceptable! - You can hear humming from ventilation engine outside the window - Shower water temperature fluctuates between cold and warm - Far from everything and area around isn't nice - No explanation of the amenities whatsoever when checking in

This hotel in Bangkok is undoubtedly one of my favorites. The rooms blend antique charm with modern amenities, offering a full range of facilities. The view is exceptional, providing a picturesque riverside atmosphere and a stunning night view of Iconsiam. The service is characterized by good hospitality and a service-minded approach. The staff, always polite, efficiently differentiate between hotel guests and restaurant patrons, ensuring a seamless experience. Everything about this hotel is truly delightful.

We visited the hotel for afternoon tea on Boxing Day. It was absolutely fantastic. We then got the free boat across to the shopping centre. A couple of hours later, we returned to the hotel and had some fab cocktails at the outside bar. The hotel is spectacular and the staff are polite and efficient

Just a beautiful and luxurious hotel in Bangkok. My understanding is that this hotel is a combination of the Mandarin Hotel and the Oriental in Hotel, and it truly lives up to its reputation as a five or six star hotel. The interior lobby is grand and beautiful. The decorations are very well thought out, and there are many staff members all around the hotel to assist with all your needs. The outside patio, and pool area are closed due to this pandemic and restrictions, but very serene and beautiful to walk around. I’ve visited a friend of mine who is staying at one of their suites, and the rooms are just fabulous. Spacious, beautiful interior, gorgeous floors, and all the amenities that you will need for your stay there.

If I could give them 6 stars, I would. Service is top notch, I couldn’t have asked for more. Professional, efficient, friendly and always going above and beyond. Our room had the most amazing view, like living inside a postcard. All the details in the room were well thought out. I highly recommend Mandarin oriental Bangkok to anyone who goes to Bangkok. This hotel is not just accommodations but truly an experience. The next time I return to Bangkok, I will be sure to return. I am truly an MO fan!!!

We came for new year's eve, the best party and the band was amazing! The hotel itself is maintained beautifully and the staff are nice. I want to say a special thanks to Kongkeat for his service and kindness. You should get the "Mandarin room" category if you can. It's very comfortable and good in size.

Remember to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. This website will compare thousands of booking websites and normally will have rates a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later! This hotel is one of the most well known in the area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you definitely won't be disappointed. A bit outdated but still one of the best hotels in Bangkok. The service and the rooms are first class. The food has declined a bit but the famous Bamboo Bar is still worth a visit. If you stay longer you should spend some time in the spa. The location is very good. Great experience.

Totally overrated hotel! This place has seen its best days - the good old days are definitely over! The service quality of the staff was extremely bad. I was shocked by the way a 5-Star hotel with such a reputation treated its guests. The staff was standing in one corner together, chatting to each other and ignoring the guests. We tried to order food and drinks on the terrace, but nobody wanted to take our order. After having eaten, same story again: nobody was clearing our table. Then we wanted to order another glass of wine, which was again a very difficult thing to do. When leaving the terrace restaurant nobody said bye bye and no one helped us with the baby stroller. All in all, one of the worst experiences I have ever had - we all felt like we are in a in a bed and breakfast place :-(

We really enjoyed our stay at MO Bangkok. We had a King Balcony room with a view of the river. Room was spacious with a nice sitting area. Bed was very comfortable. Service was excellent. Definitely a 5 Star resort. We would definitely stay here again. Many high quality restaurants to choose from and the morning breakfast buffet is not to be missed.

The rooms are well decorated with modern Thai style. All the material in the room are top quality and well maintained. The services provided was excellent as expected from any Mandarin Oriental hotel. I would definitely be coming back for more visits.

Suites and facilities are amazing. The unfortunate travel bans make for some really sweet long term deals here at the moment. Highly recommended this place for a staycation!

We stayed at MO 4 nights. Mandarin Oriental is offering exceptional facilities, hotel is beautiful and service impeccable. Very convenient location and easily accessible taxis are monitored by MO and working on taximeters ! We loved our Thai contemporary room overlooking both the river and the swimming pool . The breakfast buffet caters for everyone and the veranda along the river is relaxing. We also had couple enjoyable dinners there. We will be back soon!

Not sure about the rooms since I did not stay there but the hotel is great. I will definitely visit again. The restaurants are right by the river and super cozy. Its best to go there during sunset or late in the evening. I liked it! They have a great looking Jazz bar, looks like fun.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. This stay was also a birthday celebration for my wife. Even though I only stated it in my reservation e-mail, the staffs congratulated my wife on her birthday upon our arrival, afternoon tea, and at the spa. The hospitality was excellent and made our stay wonderful. I'd like to appreciate all the staff for the hospitality. Thanks for a wonderful experience. This has become one of my favorite hotels.

Back in 2008, my wife and I did not stay in this hotel but we did visit for afternoon tea. It was very nice to relax in such a beautiful lounge. The tea and snacks were very good as was the service. We also enjoyed the classical guitar player which added to the calming atmosphere. Nice to experience in the middle of a fast paced holiday. It seems to be a handbag shop now.

Mixed Feelings regarding M.O Bangkok. Location: Love the location. Will definitely stay at hotel by the river in my next Bangkok visit (Maybe try the new Capella Hotel) Staff: Professional and efficient. But they are cold. Not the usual Thai hospitality. Rooms: We were upgraded from a Deluxe Balcony Room to a Mandarin Room. The room was beautiful but the balcony was facing an abandoned building and a parking lot. Defies the purpose of a balcony. So I did not enjoy it at all. Breakfast: Good. But I had better in Thailand. I was hesitant to try the cold cuts as the buffet was outdoor and with the heat and humidity I did not want to risk getting sick. Hotel facility: There was a Dior event that was happening the same week I stayed. It was as if someone threw up dior logo all over the hotel. The guests and event coordinators of Dior made the hotel facility so crowded and overwhelming. They would block access and hinder the guest moving freely around the hotel. Moreover, the Author Lounge was closed for the event (for a week) and the Afternoon Tea was moved to the dark and gloomy Bamboo Bar (very disappointing) Communication: Before my stay I have communicated with the hotel, but it was never mentioned to me that there was an event going on during our stay and that some parts of the hotel will be closed off. They should have let guest know and make a decision to stay at the hotel or choose another place to stay. Unprofessional from M.O. Spa: Clean and well maintained but unimpressive. The spa management were professional in addressing a concern that I had. In Summary: I don’t deny that it is a beautiful hotel but I think there are better options out there.

My partner had a conference in Bangkok, and I joined him for a working holiday. He surprised me with a reservation at this hotel for my birthday. The hotel's public spaces were undeniably stunning, and we thoroughly enjoyed its rich history and the delicious breakfast. However, our stay was marred by a significant issue with the service. I had intended to get some work done within the hotel's premises. Still, the staff continuously questioned my attire and reservations at different places during the morning and afternoon hours. My choice of dress has never been an issue in any place before. This made it uncomfortable for me to use any of the public areas, ultimately leading me to retreat to our (kitschy maritime) room. When I joined my partner and friends at the Bamboo Bar for some leisure time, I was immediately given a shawl, while my companions faced no such scrutiny. So, surprising your partner with a stay at the Mandarin may not be the best idea. It's a trip that requires careful planning and consideration, especially when it comes to dress code and reservations. This trip really made me aware that certain conventions remain in place for women.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, and I must say, it was a truly amazing experience. The hotel is beautiful and luxurious. The room that I stayed in was gorgeously decorated and had all the amenities I needed to make my stay comfortable. The bed was plush and cozy, and I slept like a baby. The river view from my room was breathtaking, and it just added to the overall experience. The team at the hotel was very professional and hospitable, taking care of all of our needs and ensuring that we had a wonderful stay. It was a celebratory occasion for us, and the housekeeping team left a lovely hand written letter for us. Overall, my stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel was an exceptional experience, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay. It's an ideal place for a special occasion or to pamper yourself with a luxurious experience.

I stayed at MO in Dec 2021. Room is comfort and good decoration. I love hotel's location which can see the river view, chill out in restaurants with good atmosphere and good view. The boat is available, heading to hotel spa and Icon Siam Department Store. Breakfast is excellent. Exceptional service, always beyond expectations. Impressive memory here.

We visited in October 2023 and the new years countdown party of 2024. Located beside of the river. Great customer service and perfect presentation of the interior at the lobby. Once you enter, you can feel the atmosphere of the best of the southeastern mood. Especially, the restaurant where we can eat a breakfast is amazing.

Everything was perfection from the moment I was met by MO the airport transportation service upon arrival. All staff were delightful, welcoming, and helpful. Chauffeurs to/from airport were fantastic. In-room check-in (I arrived late at night) was seamless. Interiors and facilities were stunning and perfectly kept, from the lobby, to the pool, to the room. Concierge was especially helpful, including with my many emails prior to the stay. Daily breakfast at The Verandah was the best hotel breakfast spread I have ever seen. I loved the two tours — Evening for the Senses and Bangkok Multi-Transport — and Malin, the incredibly knowledgeable (and fun!) guide, was superb. I cannot recommend her highly enough! This was my first time in Bangkok, and I cannot wait to return and stay at the MO again.

I’ve been to a good dozen hotels in Bangkok, and I can’t say the Mandarin is up to his price . I went for a slightly upscale room (mandarin at 800 USD the night) with views on the River. Room itself is nice and so is service. But really not worth it’s value, I can probably give you a bunch of 5 star hotels with a much better overall quality and views for a third of this price point .

A place to grab a drink, hotel is beautiful and service is impeccable. If you choose to have lunch out by the water it's gorgeous to watch all of the books go by and you can take the Mandarin boat over to the shangri-la, or the peninsula. She might also want to go at sunset for a cocktail then it's even more beautiful.

Formerly best hotel in world, I spent 4 amazing days in this establishment. Without a doubt, the best hotel I’ve ever been to so far, for quite a reasonable price. What impressed me the most is probably the quality of the service, very discrete and yet, you are always taken care of.

It features elegant and spacious rooms and suites with stunning views of the Chao Phraya River, beautifully landscaped gardens, and a serene atmosphere. Moreover, the hotel’s impeccable service sets it apart from many others. Stayed at the MO from 11~13/12/2022, 2 rooms with 4 adult guests. Overall experience was great. Rooms are very nicely designed in what I would call a modern classical style with excellent fittings like an expensive automatic toilet and great lighting. Service staff were also fine, polite, and attentive. A welcome small cake for a special occasion was a nice touch. River view fine. Higher floor as requested. But I cannot give the hotel 5 stars for the following reasons. 1. As noted by others, the Reservations office were hopeless. They either misunderstood simple English, or just ignored my questions. At check in they ignored my clear request to have 2 King sized beds and not 1 King and 1 Twin. As it happened this didn't matter a great deal and I did not complain about it. By the way, I had a similar problem with Reservations last year, and gave up talking to them and went elsewhere. 2. Temp in room could not be set at more than 25 deg C (as shown on control) even with the ac turned off. Some guests might find that too cold. A room booklet mentioned (I think) that max room temp is 26.5 deg C to protect the furnishings. 3. My 3 Thai guests all said the breakfast Thai food and in-room dining were not so good, and not comparable to other hotels in Thailand we could name. Food on 2nd day was OK. Change of chef? 4. Hot and Cold taps on washbasins and shower in bathroom were not clearly marked. Required experimenting to find out which was which. Attention to detail. 5. Room fridge was too warm, apparently by design. 6. Very expensive for what it is, but great for special occassions 4.4.5/5 stars overall.

I would like to review the food and service in this hotel. The restaurant has a stunning view. The view of this restaurant is a beautiful lake in Bangkok, however, I had a bit disappointed with the reservation woman in this restaurant. We came here for my friend's hens night and we hope that we can sit close to the river. And we request to her if we can sit there, but she was not allowed us to sit there with the reason someone book the table. We showed that 3 tables are empty close to the rivers and I was sure that the tables were available only she doesn't want to give that table to us and I don't know why. Short story, we got a table but not close to rivers. We ordered food and open one bottle of wine. After we opened one bottle wine of the waitress said to us that they have a table now for us close to the river. We felt that the reservation woman was not believed us because we are not foreigners. For us a bit strange feeling. Food in there was great, really recommended to try.

Worth every penny! Stayed in 20+ hotels around the world in the last 3 months and this was easily in the top 3. Rooms were amazing but the service was some of the best I’ve ever seen. It was my partner’s birthdays and the amount of little touches they gave us at breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, spa, etc was unbelievable. Would 100% recommend staying here!

The room was well decorated, service was great. However we found issues about air conditioner during the stay. It turned itself off so often during the day and especially the night. We woke up to find out the room was not on A/C mode while we did nothing. Other than that it was fine.

We stayed here in the MO BKK again for five nights and enjoyed some of the luxury treats of this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️hotel. When you arrive you are immediately diving into a relaxed and calm atmosphere. „The rich are different from the average“ comes every time more true at this place. If you need to wait for your room to be ready you can do so at the Café or at pool side. It’s a quantum leap against other luxury hotels in terms of service and atmosphere in deed and the history of the hotel adds an additional colonial connoisseur flair. There are still spaces reserved for the Royal family in the Author’s Lounge! Highly recommend, the pictures speak for themselves.

We went here for Christmas dinner with friends on Christmas Eve. There was a fantastic buffet with many individual cooking stations set up around the large pool. A really exceptionally large selection of high quality dishes. Plus the great view of the Chao Phraya River. A really very nice experience and inexpensive considering what is on offer.

A perfect place for a quiet afternoon tea. (But on weekend you might want to seek for less crowded area at Gaysorn branch instead) They offer variety of desserts, tea and also quick meal like sandwich. If you like softer scone, you will love theirs. Their seasonal rose jam also really popular.

I only had dinner here at "the verandah" and I absolutely loved it!!!! Wish I could afford the rooms here too. Lobby was classy and stylish, when I left there was even a string quartet entertaining guests. Food was lovely, service excellent, views spectacular. Only improvement suggestion would be to have a vegetarian version of the shrimp crackers. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could, highly recommend!

5.0 If you I could provide more than 5 stars I would. The Grand Dame of Asian hotels continues to go from strength to strength. The remodeled state rooms are beautiful. As is the redone Verandah restaurant for breakfast which is always a joy. For me, the pool is the star, the beautiful green tiles, the free coconut ice cream, cold water and ice tea and I do love a great hotel bar and Bamboo Bar is up there although the jazz singer mailed it in during our stay. Net net, a 💎.

Stayed here about a half month ago the location was meh at best, our room had an amazing view of the side of a building and, when we tried to check in 45 minutes early they told us no and to leave until it was the right time listed on our reservation. Overall experience was mediocre at best. 👎🏿

Having undergone renovations the overall feel and experience is top notch. The Spa is awesome as always. Can't comment on the rooms as I didn't stay there this time.

Best service experienced in any hotel so far! Setup at riverside is stunning and the ferry transport you whenever you like just ideal. Amazing spa, incredible passion and professionality of the staff. Very well modernized even though you feel the history of the place in every corner. Restaurants are world class, rooms have a magnificent style & amazing furniture.

Services and food deserves what used to be No.1 in this region. You can chill and enjoy drinks and food in the restaurant, the Verandah.
