I don't understand how people are posting pictures and reviews this past couple months as if all is as it was. THIS PLACE IS GONE!!! DEAD!!! It was everything the reviews says. But that was before... DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, it does not exist as it was. Let hope it returns soon.

This is a medium size outdoor night market that requires a fair bit of walking to get to from BTS. I will recommend coming here only if you are nearby and this place isn't a place I will come again as I spend about 2 hours here and there are some shops that were not open. The food here is pretty standard.. I believe more shops are required to bring the crowd back in. One thing I feel that could be improved will be more variety of shops here, there isn't anything noticeable for this place to stand out from other markets.

A nice place to hang out. Not a lot of people during my visit. The atmosphere is good and the prices are decent. The only complaint will be using toilet at one specific area, and charged 5 baht, coils needed.

We have been on the night market Thursday before Christmas. Roughly 2/3 of the shops and kitchens were open only and much less visitors. It was a poor appearance of the market even trying to be nicely decorated for Christmas. Spending 40 minutes by taxi from downtown one way makes it not more reasonable to visit.

This place is closed and demolished. Iโ€™m not even sure what people are still reviewing unless itโ€™s the very tony food courts and shopping malls (The Street) that now bristle around this collection of office buildings and busting commuters. Some of the stalls have perhaps been squeezed onto the apron at the Big C next door, but the old night market does not appear to have been relocated anywhere. If it has, someone kindly relocate it on the map!

Sad but true, itโ€™s completely gone as of December 8, 2021. If youโ€™re confused about recent posts showing that itโ€™s open, notice no face masks in those photos. They are old photos! Some tiny good news is that there are two new markets not far. One is Jodd Fairs, about 1 kilometer away and the second is The Street Ratchada, about 500 meters away. Donโ€™t waste your time looking for the old train market.

10 Jun 2023, Saturday, 9.50 pm. It is no longer the same as the night market before the year 2019. Half the stalls are not open on a Saturday night. The other stalls started closing at 11pm. The seafood looked nicer than it tastes, not very fresh. M size was 480 baht, fresh coconut was 60 baht. I had some pancake balls with sweeten ingredients, not very nice as they were cold and too sweet. 7 for 40 baht. The shrimp Pad Thai 79 baht from another stall tasted better. The handmade stall selling hand-made "Ikea" bags is still there. I bought 3 wallets and 2 sling bags. I left after 1 hour. The journey from my hotel took a longer time than my dinner and shopping at this night market. Quite disappointed.

This night market gets a lot of criticism for being for tourists and renovated and lost its charm. But I loved it. I am a tourist though ha ha. It was clean, spacious, and almost all the stalls were full of interesting dinner options. A decent number of bins for rubbish. A number of seating options once you have lots of food. There were definitely a lot of non traditional stalls but that added to the variety. Only issue was hard to change my 1000 baht note, so bring smaller change!

We got there early so it wasn't too crowded. The restaurant touts were a bit pushy and off putting. The woman running the apothecary was rather rude and unfriendly but her floor staff was nice and helpful.

My husband and I looked up night markets to go visit and didn't know what to expect. I believe this was the first one we stopped at when we visited Bangkok. It took awhile to get there from where we were cabbing in, but definitely worth it. There were lots of vintage items in shops along the way and several food vendors outside in which we sampled several different street foods. The was a section of the market that was a little quieter and less crowded at the time of our visit that we got to check out as well. It was beautifully lit and had a very cool and relaxed vibe to it. Would definitely love to come and visit this area again next time we come to Thailand. It felt as if there was always more to see and eat, at every turn.

One of the best night market in the world. And if you know how to see from the top the view is super amazing. But I hate that now many big tourists group from 1 country come here with their guide and make the place super crowded. Good place to eat , shop and chill. Affordable price and exciting experience to see how creative the Thai to serves (unique) food and sell random item.

Went to this market on a Monday night and it was really quiet. For those looking for a less packed market and just want a basic experience, this may be a good alternative to some of the busier markets in Bangkok. However, is mentioned by others this market has many stalls that are not being used, on Monday market I would estimate that there was probably about 40% of the stalls not being used. However, there still is a good selection of seafood, sit down restaurants stalls, selling various juices, a few stalls, selling various grilled meats, as well as various sweets and desserts there is also a section With various stalls selling merchandise, such as clothing if youโ€™re looking for a non-crowded marketplace where itโ€™s easy to walk around, still has people visiting and gives you a market experience then this may be a good option for you for those. Looking for a busier market with lots of stalls and lots of people with many food, options, and shopping options you may want to consider going to another market.

This ainโ€™t โ€œThe Oneโ€ Went on a Monday thinking itโ€™ll be a little less busy. It wasnโ€™t as big or good as some YouTubers or Tik Tokers portrayed it to be. Food was very much catered for tourists, over priced and bang average. Youโ€™re also hounded aggressively by all restaurants host to get you to dine at their place. I saw more people videoing the place than people dining. Not worth the hype. Ratchada The Street was much more better which was literally 2 mins walk away.

Such a bustling place. The prices of the food was cheap but it tasted good. We only had time to visit a few of the stalls but we found such in insane variety of food within those stalls. It was the perfect way to begin the trip the Bangkok. If you want to see the street food of Bangkok, this is a good place to start. It's a two to three minute walk from the mrt station which was awesome.

Not many stalls were opened when we were here. No wonder not many people. Easily accessible from Thailand Cultural Center Subway station, just 3 stops from Asok BTS Station. Came here more than 6 years ago when it was with so much crowded with vibe and people. Tried the fried squid and it was amazing. 100 baht for small portions. They are 3 different portions.

Very worth to visit! Thereโ€™s three part. The first part is all about the food and drink. The second one is for clothing or other souvenirs that you can purchase and you even can bargain with the price! The final part is just for some very common souvenirs such as dry fruit, soap and durian products. The night market starts from 5, but after 6 is better. After 7, there will be a lot of Chinese tourist groups surrounded by the you. So make sure you get there early. The fruit smoothie is very nice, definitely worth every penny. Also you have to try the seafood pancakes, Thai prawns, pork skewers (moo ping) and of course the banana pancakes!

This is one of the best place in Bangkok. I really enjoyed many local foods and the atmosphere. And also I saw the famous illumination from the parking building next to this market. This is so colorful and beautiful. Must be nice!

Our Bangkok tour guide suggested this to us, and the place doesn't disappoint! If you want to experience authentic Bangkok markets, visit this place! It's a wide block of merchants ranging from garments, accessories, street food, exotic food, different kinds of seafood, and other authentic Thai cuisine. Even locals frequent this place for shopping, eating, drinking and hanging out because of the local pubs surrounding the market. The place is very colorful, vibrant and ultimately local. As a tourist, you will definitely enjoy going adventurous eating out in Train Night Market Ratchada. Overall definitely a must-go-to in Bangkok and will recommend to anyone.

This is an ok market. Not sure if it was just the timing we went but it was quite quiet and half the stalls were not trading or closed. It is asthetically pleasing with some good vendors. Nice for pictures but I wouldn't go out of the way to go here. The shopping centre next door had a lot more appealling good.

Not as bustling as other night markets. Half of the night market is closed with no vendors. Those opening mainly sell clothes, hand made goods, socks etc. For food options, got handful of seafood stalls like those in jodd fairs. Totally quiet and no business, which result in the waiter to keep asking u to try their food. The vibe is quite good here, the quality of goods sold here are quite good too, just that if more vendors here and more tourists to support, it will be better. Also!! Must try the roti prata here! Damn good. Thin and crispy, got a variety of different toppings too!

Amazing Thailand. Bangkok has done it again with Train Night Market. Its packed every night and lots of locals and tourists throng this night market. There is so much food to eat that you may spend a few nights here to try it all. Wear loose clothing and comfy shoes or sandals as its outdoors and can be quite stuffy too. Pictures paint a thousand words and I have posted 15 photos from my album ๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿท๐Ÿฅ‚

Ratchada, always a great night out before hitting the bars. We headed up a bit early around 5:30pm so our group got a beer tower and some appetizers. By the time we were done the market was open, we explored the many shops and the ladies got their nails done, for a great price. Later we had sea food and ribs. We spent around 3 1/2 hours there. But you could easily spend the night there. A must see while in Bangkok.

Once a bustling Train Market is now The One Ratchada. Whilst the revamp has given it a more comfortable layout with ample walking space between shops and a nicer environment the crowd wasnโ€™t really there. Choices were very limited. Perhaps the pandemic has changed the landscape of such outing.

A night market with too many stalls. At this market, you can find all sorts of food and drinks from the local Thai food & dessert to seafood. Some of the food and drinks can be overpriced since it is also a tourist place. The market is also a great place to hang out at night with dozens of lively bars which provide live music most nights and the bars also serve cheap beer and finger food.

I love this market. It was nice to see it had reopened after being closed for a stretch. It is much cleaner than it was in 2019 when I was last there. Lots of food variety. Hopefully tourism expands and more shops open. I look forward to returning soon!

Pretty cool night market but not so big as the ancient market. Good restaurants however here. I highly recommend the Indian restaurant near the main entrance, I've eaten one of the best chicken Tikka masala in my life. Worth a visit but there is much better market in BKK

Recommended for tourist. Local will find this place mostly selling tourist products. Half the stalls are selling food and drink with almost all of them selling basically the same things, grilled seafood, bbq spareribs, fresh fruit, smoothie, etc. The price is very reasonable though so I think for tourist it worth a visit and have a dinner here. The place is usually very crowded so not really recommend for family with young kids. There is an A/C shopping mall with lots of restaurants right next to the market in case you're feeling too hot and need a place to cool down.

Food, drinks, service all 10/10. The problem is that the value is not there as this is elevated or often โ€œwesternizedโ€ versions which are charged for accordingly. I think a more traditional market with traditional food and better value is much more fun overall. Also, EXTREMELY crowded. Standing and walking shoulder to shoulder, lots of seating but donโ€™t expect to get a seat. If you enter it with the right expectations I can understand why people like it and the Passion fruit smoothie we had was one of the best things I have ever had.

Great place for food. I am sure it gets busier further on into the year. Less shopping stalls then I expected, however, looks as though it's being extended. Some great bars along the left hand side of the market. Big selection or food and lots of space to sit. Loved it here.

An interesting night market with varieties of food. There are still many stalls that are not in business. How do you get here? Hop onto MRT Thailand Cultural centre station, walk through the Esplanade mall, keep left, and you will see a door, walk towards that direction, you will see the night market.

We came here around sunset time and it was not crowded (ps, we were here during the songkran weekend as well, so that might have affected the stallsโ€™ opening) We were told that not many people know about the night market hence some of the stall owners up and moved. However, snacks and drinks we got here was great! This strawberry ice blend (they call it a smoothie) was awesome!

Love the ambience here, doesnโ€™t feel like Thailand! Thereโ€™s no crowd so ample walking space! Market is divided into 3 sections - bar, food, and shopping! Market closes at 12am, but Iโ€™m not sure if it applies to the bars. Anyway, hope to visit again and hopefully this market survives ๐Ÿฅฒ

28/05/2023 Train Night Market Ratchada closed down ages ago. Now it is better known to be One Ratchada~ It was disappointing. Variety of food and drinks are disappointing. There more nails parlour than the food stalls. There were also alot of empty stalls that are closed or not yet rent out.. I miss the olden days where visitors come to this place to have a night life, have fun and forget about all of their problems in life. Now, it has upgraded to where visitors come to starve, die from boredom and question their existence. They need to do something with the vibe here. However, shoutout to the nail parlour who did my gf and my friends nails! Both of you are awesome and amazing at what you guys do!! kudos!!!! ๐Ÿคฉ

We came on a Monday so itโ€™s quite quiet here. Which is what quite I wanted to chill. Just imagine the music, beer with no people pushing you. Quite windy, 50% of the shops are food. There are some shop retailers that are open to discounts.

We came across this night market while having dinner in the area. It is a quiet and clean place with a shopping and dining area. The prices here are higher than the other markets that you'll find in Bangkok however. But it is one that is definitely less busy. I'm not sure if it's because we came on a weekday, not many stalls were open. The people selling food were fairly aggressive so just watch out as you walk around there. This place is walking distance to the Subway.

Cool vibes all round! Lots of space to walk around and very cool vintage cars, clothes to rifle through. Take your time strolling through the aisles from food to clothes to cool trinkets. There's a lot to see.

  • 5/5 David M. 5 years ago on Google
despite the food section being desperately over crowded, I really enjoyed the market! It had a huge offering of stalls but the permanent stores that border it are really cool and offer, unique and good quality wares. The underground takes you almost directly here and there is plenty to see and eat- do yourself a favour and get some coconut mango ๐Ÿฅญ

Atmosphere is great, you can buy anything here from food clothes to small household items. I even got my nails done here too. Prices are reasonable and generally the same for items so not much competition, though if you ask you might be lucky to get a discount. The bar area was a bit noisy as everyone blaring their own music that you couldn't make out any of the songs. You must try the sticky rice and mango combo... Yum.

Went on a Thursday night. Cleanest night market so far. Wide lanes and a variety of different food choices. On 1 side you get some bars and restaurants and 1 half of the market is food and the other half is clothing, nail salon, souvenirs etc. Prices are already written so no need for a price negotiation. If you're in the neighborhood and you have the time. Sure you can go check it out.

  • 5/5 John G. 1 year ago on Google
Quieter. Easier to walk without knocking into people. Many options for food, clothes, bar, drinks, etc. Good for young and old! I'll be back again, recommend you to reserve 4 hours at least if you love shopping. Girls will love coming here for nails as there are many competitive shops around.

Disappointed as the market was, at best, third capacity. There were a lot of empty stalls. Nothing like the glory days (pre covid)

  • 1/5 Emily W. 4 months ago on Google
I was attracted by the google ratings, safe to say I was beyond disappointed. Very quiet market on a Sunday. Two shop isles were empty. Food was way below average. The worst pineapple fried rice Iโ€™ve had in my life. I was prepared to do some shopping but left empty handed. Honestly do not recommend.

A well lit but unfortunately quite dull and empty nightmarket. Was hoping to find something akin to the old Talad Neon but I suppose this market also had a blow from covid it hasn't recovered from yet. The mall next door was handy for some food and clean toilets. In the end not worth the trip.

  • 3/5 Red B. 6 months ago on Google
Fine, but not the best food market or night market in general. Food and drink options were okay with most of the stalls open. A lot of stalls sold quite same same nick-nacks and small toys/gifts. The seafood was okay but not overly fresh or tasty. I wouldn't rush back or recommend visiting unless you are in the area and have an hour or two to kill.

  • 5/5 John F. 1 year ago on Google

  • 4/5 Kelvin W. 8 months ago on Google
Place less crowded compared to pre COVID time, many empty stalls, however I kind of enjoy the stress-free and relax atmosphere now. Touting vendors are still persistent, but there is a empty place with chairs and tables free from any stalls where I can buy takeaways, sit and eat and watch the day pass by.
