Built in 1871 during the reign of King Rama V, the first and foremost Chinese temple in Bangkok is at the center of important festivals such as Chinese New Year and the annual vegetarian festival in September-October. The temple, whose name means "dragon lotus", contains Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian shrines, representing the diverse religios heritage of Chinatown. To get the place from Ratchawongse Pier walk up Ratchawong Road and turn right to Charoen Krung Road and continue walking about 100 meters.

Incredible Chinese temple - the construction nearby causes visitors to traverse a labyrinth of passageways which seems very appropriate. You can go here if you are not born in a year that is lucky to pray for the bad luck to be brushed away from you. Then you pray & make a wish while burning incense. Firmly plunge your incense into the incense box to lodge your prayer. Beautiful building with some damage from floods.

(Translated by Google) 500BATHS THE ENTRANCE !!!! We are very crazy. That price is a pretty penny. The rest of the places are usually either free or 50B. Not worth it. In addition, there are usually people in the suburbs who, saying that they want to help you, try to sneak in that it is closed and that they better take you with a colleague so that you "take advantage" of the day. TIMO !!!!! (Original) 500BATHS LA ENTRADA!!!! TIMO!!!!!

In the very middle of Chinatown this idyllic temple is more than worth a visit. There are several quiet places where you can have your private moment of meditation. The young monks are very helpful and speak amazingly good English. Every detail inside is extremely beautiful and well preserved, absolutely recommended

If you are going by taxi, you will be alighted from the side entrance. Go through a small alley and walk 30m and you will reach the temple. Very big interior. Those that 犯太岁 will be good to visit here. Go in and take 5 joss stick to pray. Give thanks and wish with your heart, your wishes will be granted. 👍

One of the oldest and most well known Chinese style Buddhist temple in Bangkok. This temple is located in the center of Bangkok Chinatown. It is always busy with Chinese Thai defendant in Thailand and especially busy around luna Chinese New Year. There's not whole lots of parking, so best try to find parking around the street. Inside the temple, they have no lighting incense policy so Inside the temple aren't too smoky like many similar temple.

This is the most popular Chinese Temple situated at the heart of china town in Bangkok. Our family visited this temple every year for making merit and blessing for the good health and prosperous in occasion of the coming New Year. Now the temple is very clean and well maintained. Many of lanterns are decorated for blessing a Happy New Year and Chinese New Year. No more smoke from incense due to the policy of healthy environment. No car parking is available. MRT is the good way for transportation to visit here. Visiting in the afternoon would be better than in the morning because of less crowded.

The pa-thi-nang-chak-kee-ma-ha-pa-sat building was constructed in the reign of king rama the fifth to commemorate the centenary of the Chak-kri dynasty. It was designed in renaisance  style with pure Thai style roof, or the nickname as "The westerner with Thai hat". On the second hall is the central throne hall. Now use as Royal audiance. And on the topfloor, The royal ashes are kept. 📍On 5th May 2019,On this coronation ceremony of king rama the tenth, the king might stand at the bacolny and wave his hand here. We are so exciting. Hit "LIKE" if it useful.😍

This is such a gorgeous Chinese temple in China town. There are hundred of red larterns hanging at the frontispiece which create a magnificent view and indescribable feeling. Seems that they are expanding the temple. Now you need to walk through a long narrow way from the front gate to the main place. And also please bare in mind there are a lot of visitors everyday, especially at New Year.

Amazing Chinese temple. Very crowded during the weekends. Wat Mangkon Kamalawat, previously known as Wat Leng Noei Yi, is the largest and most important Chinese Buddhist temple in Bangkok, Thailand. It hosts celebrations of a number of year-round events, including Chinese New Year, and the annual Chinese vegetarian festival.

Small very interesting Chinese temple. Very busy as Chinese new-year. Lots of people in there to make gifts for the defunds when giving a donation for the temple priest is ringing some bells. They are very friendly and welcome tourists, filming allowed too. Temple is now in work. You need to go in via backdoor. Still very nice.

Visited Wat Mangkon Kamalawat with a friend and it’s a truly beautiful place. The temple offers a serene environment, rich in cultural significance with stunning designs. It’s a peaceful retreat in the midst of the city’s hustle. Plus, it’s free to visit. Highly recommend for anyone seeking tranquility and a touch of cultural beauty.

The courtyard of the temple are under renovation. The have to detour a bit by the nearby soi (the one with 7 - 11). Inside still sacred and beautiful, with AC throughout the indoor areas. Totally recommended. Please dress properly, even the guard not that strict, but to show your good traveler.

The wonderful Chinese temple is a must-visit place in Bangkok. It stands as one of the most famous temples in Thailand. The temple's vibrant red and gold colors create an amazing sight. It was a great idea to visit. We were fortunate that it wasn't crowded on the day we visited. It is definitely a must-see attraction in Bangkok.

Wat Mangonkamlawas or Dragon Temple is the most important Chinese Temple in China Town. Because for half Thai-Chinese always come to pray and do the ceremony here. That's way this temple always crowded, mean there are a lot of shop to sale the staff and also the food. Even in Chinese New Year Eve people like to shopping at here to celebrate at their home.

    The old Chinese temple, where you should not miss, when you visit Bangkok.

Red based Chinese temple in yaowarat. Famous for apotropaism. Many Chinese lanterns are hung down from the ceiling. Buy the set of candles and incense sticks and put it on the designated space. It was not so difficult to see what others were doing. It was interested to see the difference of the face of Buddha statues between Chinese and Thai.

Beautiful temple wi th lots of people coming to pray. The place is under renovation. If u are walking from the mrt, walk on aft the first entrance, there is a second entrance/ le it if u walk along the road. The second entrance / exit will lead u directed to the part of the temple that is in operation. If u go through the first entrance that is nearer to the mrt, u will have to walk on and it is a maze but luckily without options. Just follow and walk through. Great vibes around the temple. Part of the temple that is in operation is still big and beautiful.

This place is quite peaceful. People are polite and stay in line to get to pray. The best spot to check-in is always the corner with red lamps.

Wat Mangkon Kamalawat, or Wat Leng Nei Yi, is a temple affiliated with the Chinese Buddhist sect in Thailand. It is located on Charoen Krung Road, between Soi Charoen Krung 19 and 21, in the Pom Prap Sattru Phai District of Bangkok. The temple is well-known among Thai people of Chinese descent and overseas Chinese. Many people visit the temple to seek blessings and good fortune, especially those born in the Chinese zodiac year associated with the current year.

Like Hooters boasts, Wat Mangkon is delightfully tacky: an explosion of flashing, spinning red lanterns and blinking lights give it a charmingly garish appeal. Definitely worth navigating the complicated footpaths past construction to pay it a visit.

    - Chinese temple, that have been here long time ago (since 1871) - So sacred , and well know for dispel bad luck. - No parking lot available in the temple, need to find private parking lot nearby. - The most convenient transportation via MRT Wat Mangkorn. - Always crowded, if really want to avoid the crowd should visit in early morning. - Some area closed due to under construction. - Free entry. ٩(◕‿◕。)۶ Personal Opinion & Personal Experience ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ
