We checked in late, we got clear instructions from Merge Hostel how to get in and where to go. Friendly staff, and very helpful. The rooms were not very clean, but the beds were spacious. There is two bathroom, men and women. Two toilets and two showers in every bathroom. One of the toilets were broken but it was fixed the next day. The toiletries promised when booking was not available. There were no soap and no toilet paper. It got refilled once the last day. They only cleaned the toilets once so it was pretty dirty and unhygienic. However it was good value for money, there was free Wi-Fi and a free kitchen to use. For a small amount you can even do your laundry at the rooftop. In the night there is a cocktail bar on the rooftop, it was popular and the stairwell used for this was the same as the hostel. But all guests were quiet when walking through and not disturbing anyone sleeping. We were alone in our dorm room almost the whole time, so the hostel wasn’t really crowded and this meant great connection with the hosts.

Comfortable place, cheap and clean. However, it is not suitable for tourists who carry a lot of luggage because the access is only using a ladder not using an elevator

Sometimes the vibe defines the place. Merge got that kind of thing. Its a small 4 tables rooftop bar on the rooftop. Small and slick but didnt find lackings of super vibe. Cocktails are great but not much options for beer though. Great owner and a super talented bartender. Will visit again for sure.

Close to China town, very convenient for street food lovers

Very nice hostel in the heart of china town. I can't agree with the reviews, that the hostel is in a creepy area or difficult to find. Please remember, you are in china town :-) I've got a very comfortable oversize bed in a dorm. Everything was clean, the bathroom as well. The kitchen could be better equipped. But china town offers you everything, so you don't have to cook :-) The terrasse counts a lot of years, that's true.. but it's a terrasse and you are still in China Town 🤷🏼‍♂️😄

Hidden but conveniently located in a lively part of China town.

Hided place in the center of China town. Very clean rooms and bathroom! Colourful place and friendly people. Recommended hostel in Bangkok! Nice rooms for 2 People and more. If you choose a room for 2 People, you got to pass the mixed dorms but that didn't matter for us. Nice kitchen with a super small breakfast. If you book this place, don't forget to look for the rooftopbar! Cool place to play a little game at night! Perfect location! 700 meters from the Chao pray express boat & only 1 street from China Town. The trainstation is also closeby! But enough tuktuks if you don't want to walk. ;)

best hostel in chinatown area

The place is really great and very close to Chinatown but for the google map itself does not show that there are 2 ways coming in here especially from Yaowapanit road if possible I suggest google to fix this for other people so they can come here easier.
