I stumbled upon Mahakan Fort's park on my way to other attractions, and it turned out to be a nice pit stop to unwind so I kept coming back. It was pretty empty every time and has good views of the surrounding area. The park is filled with lush greenery, but it can get pretty hot during the day since there's not much shade around. The park is well-maintained and has comfortable benches. You'll also notice a bunch of noisy crows hanging around, but they didn't really bother me.

Such a lovely hidden park with beautiful views across to the Golden Mount. Lovely place to stop for a picnic with street food vendors just by the gates. There are free public toilets and two interpretation panels that explain the history of this part of town. You are also just along the canal.

After the old wooden houses had regrettably been demolished and some big old trees cut down the area became a rather dull public park consisting mainly of a big lawn. Its saving grace are the Mahakan fort, the remains of the old city wall and it's location next to a junction of canals. However, when I passed by end October 2020 I noticed gardeners were busy planting lots of flowering plants, making the park looking more attractive. What's still missing though is something that would make it worthwhile to stay a bit longer. Why not convert the old "Royal waiting room" into a cafe with a terrace in front where one could enjoy a view of the park and another one on the back where one could watch the activities on the canal?

Beautiful park. I sat and enjoyed the gorgeous scenery, well worth a visit if you are in Bangkok to relax and take a bit of time out of a busy hectic city. Wow, I have attached some photos to share the serenity. Blessed.

This cute little park is yet another quiet retreat from bustling Bangkok. This park is a short walk away from Wat Saket, and is a lovely place to walk or sit, enjoy the views, and just soak in nature in the middle of the city.
