A great walk today so decided to pop in for a coffee in the Ropery Coffee Shop. Met with a warm welcome by Lisa and served a great coffee. About a dozen others in the shop but a real nice atmosphere and Wendy was happy to spend some of her valuable time telling me about upcoming events that could interest me. Also a great programmes board with a great assortment of events. The centre is a not for profits centre so visit it when you can you will not be disappointed.

I visited here with my father and my partner, while on a trip to Hull. I didn't know what to expect as I'd never heard of it. It has a beautiful craft shop with lots of pieces by local artists. There is also a gallery showing showing lots of beautiful works, and some studio space. The museum is okay, it's more of a corridor with history about the building, different types of rope, and the business, which was pretty interesting. I think it's probably a stretch to call it a museum. The cafe was great, it was busy and the staff were very friendly. They had two vegan options for cake which was nice, and had alternatives to cows milk so we didn't have a problem ordering vegan options. I couldn't see if there were any savoury vegan options but there was a salad bar so I think they could have accommodated us. The cafe was accessible, and looking at the upcoming events, looked like it had a great programme of comedians, bands, and guests on throughout the year. It's a really nice place to spend an hour or so, and it's close to the Humber Bridge, and nice to have a wander along the river and blow away the cobwebs.

We had an enjoyable couple of hours here in spite of a damp & dreary day. The museum is a small part of an interesting redevelopment of the old rope factory. The redevelopment saw the long single story building divided into a series of units with different purposes. There are a lot of artists working from the units with some lovely galleries to peruse as well as a performing space. The top end can be accessed via the Tesco entrance and that's where the cafe is situated. The Rope museum is just between the cafe & galleries. You can also enter from the north end and carparking is free. It was interesting to read about & view exhibits related to the local industry of rope making. Well worth a visit.

We recently watched the Rotary Variety Show here and it was a terrific venue. The staff were amazing.. above and beyond. A great place and definitely worth a daytime visit also.

It used to very long ropes were made, now the public space is a few galleries showing local artists, and a cafe. As well as a few examples of the ropes made there.

Had a plowman lunch which was quite a size. Very nice. The shop is in a old famous rope making building which has been converted to a café and several other business's with a small museum explaining about the rope making. Worth a visit.

I attended The Natural Homecoming exhibition by Colin Blanchard which was not only well-presented and a pleasure to peruse but very educational and informative. Colin was generous with his time to guide anyone interested through the process of screen-printing. Adjoining the Exhibition were the Craft Shop and Restaurant, both of which enhanced the visit. The Ropewalk is definitely a delightful attraction to Barton-on-Humber and is to be recommended.

I had visited the café before just for coffee, which is very nice, and they have a choice of oat or soy milk. People were friendly and it is a lovely place with a range of artworks exhibited inside (paintings, sculptures, ceramic...) Nice to sit outside, it is dog-friendly and people of all ages were enjoying the sun. This time we went for lunch. I picked their dish of the day for £12. It was a Chinese stir-fry which "can be made vegan". When it arrived it was simply shredded vegetables (carrot, cabbage, bean sprouts) bathing in very sweet soy sauce. No cards, no protein of any sort. I was hoping for mushroom, tofu, or noodles...! They did bring a small ramequin of Chinese crackers. I asked for some more and they did bring them promptly. My mum enjoyed her Greek filo pastry dish which was veggie (with cheese and leek) and came with some salad and coleslaw. That cost only £7.50. We were a bit confused about such a difference in price! As I was still hungry we got some cakes. They had two vegan options: lemon or ginger cake. My lemon cake was tasty but pretty dry - I couldn't finish it. My mum enjoyed her coffee cake. I will be back for the art and the coffee but won't have food there, unless they work on their options.

Lovely cafe, shop and art gallery. The Ropewalk is also much more than that. The museum showing how ropes were made which explains the length of the building. You can happily spend a great few hours here.

We ordered Mac n Cheese and a pot of tea. Service and food was excellent. The Mac and cheese was rich and creamy. The accompanying salad was lovely, fresh and vibrantly coloured. Not your average boring side salad. I love that the cafe is not too big and noisy. There is also more seating outside which is very pleasant in the nicer weather.
