Not a fan of Balzac, but it’s still interesting and illuminating to know more about him. The collections are well-organised and -displayed. The most polite, gentle and helpful staff I’ve ever met in a museum!

Cool to visit if you are a Balzac fan. If you are not a big Balzac fan, you will likely not appreciate it- especially since it is a long walk from the center of Paris. Small house with 2 floors (6 rooms total) and a garden and a cafe where you can get snacks/coffee/wine. No need to get tickets- the museum is free. I wish more of the content was translated into English.

Unless you’re a huge fan of Balzac idk if you will find this interesting. Overall it’s nice to get acquainted with Balzac and his last years of life. But there aren’t many personal belongings and it’s more of a museum than a house. Either way, it is quite cheap (7 euros) and doesn’t take much time. There is a cafeteria inside so might just go in to chill and have coffee in the garden

Such a beautiful house in a beautiful location. I almost thought I was not in Paris as it was absolutely stunning. The garden and house are authentic and very interesting as it retraces Balzac’s life. As for the spot, it’s int he 16th arrondissent with view on the Eiffel Tower, what an amazing neighbourhood! It’s also not too crowded and no need a ticket reservation.

I was surprised when I was asked to buy an entrance ticket since according to the information I found online the museum was free. However, the visit was a very interesting experience and although small, the house is great for what it is. I'd just like to recommend to the owners to update the pricing information online: 6 euros didn't ruin my experience but I can't speak for everyone else.

There is supposed to be a library attached to this museum that is part of Paris's free public library network. Unfortunately, you need an advance reservation to use it and I'm not sure if there's a time restriction. So they were very nice about it but 1 star for being unusable/inaccessible by public library standrads.

Such a glorious find! An almost hidden garden and café, accessible whether or not you're visiting the museum. On a fine day, you can sit outside in the garden and feel as if you lead a privileged life in one of the best areas of Paris. The coffees are great (and we are talking proper coffee here - none of the Franch restaurant coffee and not American-style; if you regularly seek out "Australian" coffee, you will appreciate this place). The scones with butter and jam are surprisingly good. The service is variable. We had a lovely woman on our first visit and a man who could barely hide his contempt for us the second time. Still, given the location it was water off a duck's back.

I also can't use the library. No one seemed to even know where it was. Likewise, felt the charge to visit was deceptive. As a Musee de Paris, it's permanent collection is supposed to be free. When I visited, I was told only the garden was free. IE, there is no permanent collection?

I truly enjoyed the English-style garden, the cicada song and the peaceful vibe of this place at the heart of the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Just a few minutes walk from the Passy metro station. The little “Rose Bakery” cafe is clean and offers a selection of delicious homemade pastries and salads. Truly a great place to chill on a sunny summer day 🍃

What a magical and relaxing place. Besides the short visit in Balzac's house, having a coffee in the garden is a pleasure. Yes, it will be an expensive coffee, but with free entrance you can consider it to be your entrance fee

The museum offers interesting artworks and even if it's not as grand as other museums, i greatly enjoyed the intimate setting The day i went there, there's an exhibition of Shrive which was very interesting. BTW, entrance is free (when i went there) so yaaay!

We expected a bit more. There are no audio guides and the app os outdated and not to be installed on never versions of Android. The staff is nice, but the House is ready for some improvements.

A great place if you like his works. I’m so excited to see the Grandet sculpture is noted in French and Chinese since Eugiene Grandet is also very famous in China.

Nice tour of Balzac's house (possibility of English audio interpretation via the downloaded app), there is also a cafe in the garden. Visit in autumn: a minimum of people, pleasant sitting in the garden.

I thought it would be boring but it was a pleasant surprise. It’s cozy, full of art, it has a café and it’s just beautiful. Great for those who love Balzac. It’s also free :)

Charming place often forgotten by tourists. The musée is great if you know a bit Balzac. The garden is cool to rest. (And it is free)

Nice garden before the house. Inside it's very quit and pleasant

What a great cafe. When you walk off the street instead of going ahead to the museum you can turn right and down the stairs to the cafe. And what a fantastic find. A quiet green garden with a view if the tower and a quiet oasis away from all the congestion around it. We enjoyed fabulous fresh healthy salads and quiche Lorraine. Don’t order coffee. We did and it was undrinkably awful. But they offer other drinks that cannot be ruined by man. Thoroughly recommend. Have lunch, sit in the garden and gaze at the tower. This is how Paris memories are constructed.

It was a cute museum but almost none of the text and explanations were translated in English. If you dont know french, 7 euros might be too much for this museum.

The locations are wonderful, a beautiful museum where you can see the life of a great writer, and the cafe and the garden are another thing of beauty , the kind, smiling guard makes you want to come back every day

Beautiful place. The underground floor was closed. 6 rooms. 1-2 hours for a full visit

Very rude staff. Online it says is free but when we got there we had to pay €5 euro. They didn't even explain why. After some research I found out that if there's a temporary exhibit you have to pay... Ok... The exhibition honestly was bad.

Stumbled upon this by chance. Totally unexpected. An interesting place to spend an hour (or 2).

for me the best spot for Eiffel tower view! I suggest a croissant on the menu would make this cafe even better place. there were only scones and cakes so I asked the staff for his recommendation, and he offered this carrot cake which was indeed delicious. also liked there iced coffee too!

Wonderful small museum about La Comedie Humaine writer Balzac. Awesome private yard at the heart of Passy.

It's a small house with garden, but beautiful and comfortable. Balzac wrote many novels. We can see the coffee teapot which he used, bust by Rodin and so many statuettes of his imaginary characters. It's free and I recommend to enjoy a tea in the garden with the saved money!

Fantastic hidden place. Love the garden and view on the Eiffel Tower.

I wish there were more English tutorials then the present. Still, it was astonishing to see where a prolific writer lived and worked. It has a nice view of Eiffel Tower and is in a nice neighbourhood. The staff are helpful. Tickets are 8 for adults 6 for students. I hope the museum will show more items in future.
