The most overpriced and ungenerous restaurant ever - they just added all the random dishes from like 5 different countries (Thai, Indian, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese…..) with the worst quality possible. I had a Tom Kha Gai and ordered a large one which is supposed to always be eaten with rice, but we had to add on rice separately. Super dry rice and overly salty soup. Spring rolls are vegetarian but they just added a bunch of noodles into it. Super odd and tasted like nothing. We ordered a Pho bowl and it was probably the only thing okay to eat. And the sakura drink was nothing different of just bare water. Not forget to mention, the staff was so rude. Disappointing!

Good Pan-Asia Food - which would deserves a way better service For a family visit 3 of us decided to follow a local tip to Lily’s in Basel. Its easy to reach via foot, quite central in the pedestrian zone, next to a cinema. Is accessible for wheelchairs which is nice. The restaurant design is quite open with minimalistic wood furniture and large tables and benches. This concept is sometimes interrupted with clear plastic screens based on the pandemic. There is an open kitchen in the corner where you can see the staff preparing the food. When you enter the restaurant, a staff member will check your vaccination reports and IDs and after that will lead you to the assigned space. And there the problem starts - let’s talk about the rude elephant in the room: The working staff member was very annoyed and rude, in his behaviour, manners and way of speaking to guests. As we recognized from the people before us - it was nothing personally. Just overall bad JuJu. So we took it, also as it was clear that we wouldn’t be served by him. Our direct server was quick with us and super friendly. But also, as I assume, quite new, ‘cause some of the workflows took some times or were missed (at least when the food arrives, we would also need cutlery (which I organized then after minutes of waiting on my own ). The whole time while we were at Lily’s the whole server crew was the biggest let down in the restaurant. Other servers were rude in requesting space and way - sorry that a wheelchair doesn’t disappear spontaneously into thin air. They made visibly fun of other guests, one couple was even asked to move from their assigned space to make room for other clients, and were then forgotten and no longer served. The guests next to us were so harshly ignored that at the end 3 different parties tried to get some attention from the staff, and we all didn’t succeed. There were some serious guests vs. staff bonding energies happening. And overall the main entree handler, who was running through the crowd, hissing and frowning like a Slytherin, at all guests and obviously very unhappy about the situation. This service overall made the whole visit cringeworthy - and distracted everyone from the quite good food. From beginning to the end, as we waited over 20 minutes after finishing up, just to be able to pay and leave. And all of that in an not overcrowded venue. The food and drinks are the complete opposite: The very creative menu offers amazing dishes for all different ways of tastes and way of nutrition (meat centered, vegetarian, vegan). From the fresh and self-made ice teas to the curries, dumplings and seasonal dishes - everything we consumed was great. Tasty, good seasoned and better as expected. The cooking crew should really demand the service team to step up their game a lot - then a recommendation could be given. And till then: order for take out and enjoy the good food at a more friendly place.

the taste was adapted to local tastes as like other asian food - salty, minimal spiciness and sour in tom yam soup. portion was huge for a single person.

Nice place with very tasty food that appeals to me. For me, it was reasonably priced food that was really good. Friendly staff and fresh restaurant.

Lilys is one of the favorite Asian Restaurant in Kleinbasel i have been visiting this place more than 10 years now last Friday we were here to have dinner the quality and taste of the food changes through the years as they change Kitchen Staff from time to time very noticeable to me like the Yakisoba, Pad Thai, Curries used to be soo great. We were here recently so i can say that my favorite dishes still taste the same the size of the fish gets smaller every year ( Favorite: Sea Bass, Chiang Mai, Chicken Satay, Chicken and Vegetable Fried Rice) i also like the Beers and Housemase Teas! The staffs are friendly, attentive. Service is fast the ambience is very casual, lighting could be better though. I will go back again to eat my favorites here!

This used to be great place. However I visited today (26th April 2022) and I was shocked by the quality of the food. My colleague ordered Red Thai curry with duck. The dish came with lots of curry but quite less duck meat. Also the duck meat was chewy and not cooked well. She returned the dish. I ordered the Tamil chicken curry. It used to be so delicious and today it was just yuck! So sour! The Mango lassi had canned mango paste thrown in. All in all real bad experience. I won't be going here anymore. The quality of food has just deteriorated significantly. It just doesn't match the price they are still charging.

Second-worst roast duck I ever had. At least it was not the worst. The Lily’s in Zurich is much better, if you want to go to one, go there.

With so many Asian options in town, this is my least favourite one. I don't like to criticise but the food has not much flavour and not authentic at all. Nice location and terrace if it's what you are looking for.

Come here every time I am in Basel, sometimes 3 nights in a row. Food is really good, I always have the same dish because I love it so much. My colleagues have different dishes and they are a hit. Outside seating in summer is a bonus. We usually don't reserve but have always accommodated us even on busy evenings. Service is quick and friendly.

Very nice street style Asian food. Great choice of different dishes, mix of Thai, Vietnamese, Indian. Often with a twist. Large variety of veggie options. Very fast service. Good prices. Recommended dish: samosas

Enjoyed yet another fabulous dinner at Lily’s Basel. We loved the classic starter set ( Satay chicken, crispy shrimp & springrolls😍) . The chicken cashew nut is a regular favourite and never disappoints. The Udon noodles and green thai curry with rice were delicious too. Good value for fresh and yummy food!A special mention : excellent service from Karima & her team. Thank you- we will be back soon👍🏽

Nice place to dine out with friends. The portion is quite much for a person. As an Asian, the food there is not really authentique but it is still tasty.

Nice atmosphere and broad menu. Food was good and prepare with care. Portions could be larger though. After eating, we had the impression that we could start all over again.

I ate here yesterday with my friends. We chose Pad Thai Gai Poulet which tasted ok but not the best. We did also chose 4 different drinks and all 4 of them were really bad. Staffs were friendly :-) My rating: 3/5
