Well presented Japanese food, delicious sauces and dashi.... decent portion sizes and good drinks. As far as Japanese food in Basel goes, this restaurant knocks it out of the park to the point where homesick big city dwellers quench their thirst for urban food here. It's telling too that it's difficult to get a reservation here, especially at short notice. The interior is also inventive and special. Go and enjoy - it's delicious!

Excellent authentic food, friendly staff and cozy atmosphere! The place was full so make sure you book ahead. We tried sitting in the traditional Japanese section with tatami and it was comfortable for two people as long as you have empty seats next to you. All the dishes were delicious but the Futomaki with vegetables was extraordinary: Very fresh and fulfilling!!! Will definitely visit again!

My partner and I visited Miake Izakaya for the first time. We absolutely loved the AMAZINGLY authentic food, friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. Although everything was 10/10, we would definitely recommend the takoyaki, lightly seared beef and tori nanban. Can’t wait to visit again!

I went here first for lunch, and the bento box on the lunch menu is super tasty. The service was also very fast and efficient. So I returned a few days later and although the food (Katsu Kare) was still very good, the service was a bit chaotic with long waits for drinks etc. I think they were just a bit short-staffed. But I'll definitely be returning for some of the most authentic-tasting Japanese food in Basel.

The food was delicious and curated. Clearly everything freshly prepared. The staff was very friendly and the service great. The restaurant interior design is beautiful. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free friendly.

It was nice experience to go Miake Izakaya. The atmosphere in Miake is awesome, it is very well designed, you feel like you are in Japan. The different food was very delicious. At an Izakaya you always have to take 2 or more dishes. But they have also big dishes, when you can't decide which dishes you want. The small dishes coast between CHF 10 and 20. The big dishes begin with CHF 25. For sure rhey have different sake, i can recommens to try. As a dessert I had a mango mochi, it was so tasty. For this i payed CHF 4. When you want to go there, I recommend to reservate a table. Else it is difficult to come in, because it is booked out most of the time!

Really excellent traditional Japanese restaurant with a great vibe, excellent food and in a lovely setting. Excellent and extremely attentive service from a well oiled team. Eaten here on a few occasions and it really is a special treat. It just can't be faulted.

Menu is relatively small but with various options from appetizers, main dishes & desserts. And a wide selection of drinks, sake, cocktails…

They have some quite authentic Japanese dishes, the best Japanese food I've tried in Switzerland so far. Service was excellent. Maybe it can do a bit more ventilation or AC inside during summer.

We walked in to a fully packed restaurant and had to take away our food instead. Nonetheless, what we ordered tasted great. The Tonkatsu was crispy. I’m not an egg plant eater but I really enjoyed the soy chilli egg plant too.

Had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. Perfect for slow eating, ordering a variety of dishes to share and tasty cocktails. We visited with a vegetarian friend and chose a selection of vegetarian dishes, all of which were fantastic. I didn’t miss the meat but will certainly try it next time!

A very simple lunch menu with 3 dishes to choose from...went there twice within a week and am very pleased with both meals, simple, well cooked and simply delicious. Will surely be back to try the extensive dinner menu. Thank you for the good food and keep up the good work.

As always the food is delicious and the service impeccable. We were lucky enough to eat on the tatami tonight, which is a great experience. If you are looking for a taste of Japanese cooking (not sushis), that is the address in Basel.

Great Japanese Restaurant near Basel SBB We booked for dinner few days ago, nice interiors cozy atmosphere.. Good variety and quality of food — taste authentic and genuine, Gyozas taste incredible as well as desserts Tempura has a very mild taste also their Katsu Kare it was a 4 star for us —braised pork belly is absolutely delicious. They have nice variety of sake, tried the enter sake and it goes well to our food. Staffs are very friendly and attentive— service is good enough though theres some long waits with our orders — still a lovely dinner all in all.. we’ll probably come back again soon!

Too good to be true like being in a beautiful summer dream in Japan. Sauce is super on point!( The tint of vinegar in sauce for gyoza is the absolute highlight) Thank you thank you for taking Ryori this seriously and make such great food for a tired traveller.

The waiter were very friendly, First he offered us a glass af Japanese plum wine. We then place our order,we didn't wait long. The food was tasty, a mater of Fach it was excellent. Nice service, Food was excellent. Good atmosphere. My girlfriend gave six stars. Last but not least the Cheese cake was the high light, so my girlfriend had 2. We are two ladies. We ordered bento boxes for lunch. The set was well combined with side and main dishes. Very tasty! We made the reservation on the website, where one can choose sitting in the traditional Japanese style with tatami or at a normal table.
