One of the best organized museums I've visited in recent history. Every part of it is informative, provides tons of insight on each particular topic.. There are even interactive screens where you can learn more certain engines, car models, and so on... The staff is also very pleasant and helpful towards the visitors, there is shop and bistro at the extension of the museum. Either way, very well spent time. It's a must-go destination in Munich, especially if you're a huge automobile enthusiast.

The BMW Museum is a place that makes me very excited as a car lover. Here I can see the stories and development processes of many cars, and I can understand the greatness of this company. I am fully looking forward to my trip to Munich. When I came here to watch it, I was really amazed by this place. Here you can see not only the skills of the engineers, but also the contribution and enthusiasm for the entire automobile industry. The moving lines are also well planned here, making it an impeccable museum. It's worth visiting for more than two hours. You can fully appreciate the beauty of BMW. If you have the opportunity, you will definitely visit again to satisfy your love for BMW!

I’m not a big fan of cars, so BMW WELT/world is enough for me. It’s free entry (vs. 10euro for BMW museum). The venue and display was set up in an very aesthetic way brought in a pleasant experience. Also u get brilliant view of the BMW “four engine” & “super bowl” building at 2nd floor exit

The BMW Museum in Munich is a must-visit for car enthusiasts and anyone interested in engineering and design. I visited the museum and was impressed by the vast collection of car models on display. From classic models to the latest releases, the museum has something for everyone. One thing that stood out to me was the knowledgeable staff, who were always available to answer questions and offer insights into the history and technology behind the cars. Their enthusiasm for the subject matter was infectious and added to the overall experience. The building itself is a work of art, with a modern design that blends seamlessly with the surrounding architecture. The museum is well-lit, spacious, and well-organized, making it easy to navigate and appreciate the exhibits. The exhibitions were particularly interesting, providing a glimpse into the evolution of BMW over the years. The displays are interactive and engaging, offering visitors the chance to learn about the technology and innovations that have made BMW a leading car brand. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the BMW Museum in Munich. The collection of cars and exhibits, combined with the modern building design and knowledgeable staff, make for a memorable and enjoyable experience.

A beautiful and awesome museum for car and bike lovers. Each and every exhibit is sure to amaze the viewers. It was surprising to know that some of the vintage cars were road worthy even today. Lockers are available for € 1 rent, but only coins accepted. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. And don't forget to visit the BMW Welt across the road , connected by a walkway.

This place is a must visit pitstop 🚏 on your next trip to Munich! 🇩🇪 The BMW Museum showcases so many cars 🚗 and motorcycles 🏍️ and has the entire history of BMW on display. It's really fun walking 🚶 around and exploring 🔍 the space! I wish I could spend more time here!

If you or if you are not a BMW enthusiasts you will be invited into the world of details, intelligent design, intelligent weight reduction to optimize power weight ratio, extreme talent pool figuring out what modern and classic has in common, just the beauty of a successful company, which started with airplane engines. Fun, educational and a must to explore.

Huge venue. Closeby there is Park and Ride parking where you can park your car for 24 h and pay only 1.5 euro if you also have a public transport ticket. And then walk to the BMW museum and World. The ticket price is around 10 euro. But I don't rate the highest because there is no so much into or history to get known the BMW history in case you don't know it. It is place more for fans, like exhibition of some models and engins. In terms of learning by doing, no possible to sit in the car, or to have any testing machine, anything with interactions. My expectations were very different. And then I figure out that BMW world across the street is absolutely free and they have there much more models , at least, to see. We didn't have a time already to go there. But I recommend to go there straight away, and then to decide if you want to spend time and money for several historical models, with no information on it. Also there was no about the future plans or models.

I'm not a big 'car guy' but the museum and adjacent BMW World were very cool. Great architecture and layout and tons of interesting things to look at. Some of the cars you could get into! A look into the past and a glimpse of the future for automobiles.

Lovely place to see Older models of BMW and some very unique speciments. It has everything you'd imagine: engines, bikes, F1 cars, classic cars, race cars, prototypes. It's a fun and worthwhile adventure for automotive enthusiasts. If like cars and you're in Munich it's a must see thing, it's worth every single penny of 10€ I spent.

A motor mania indeed😍😍. As in the case of car museums, the BMW museum also carefully crafted their timeline till date. They have also had a separate section above the entrance point to showcase how the company believes to operate in the future and the appropriate measures taken so as to achieve it. It is a must for anyone as it basically about the automobile world rather than only about cars.

Amazing place. Fan boy or not this place has great history to show. All the cars at the museum are very unique and are described with great depth of detail which all the history behind the vehicles. If you are in the Munich or are at a close city I recommend visiting. A must see! Loads of gifts shops available at entrance of museum and at the BMW Welt area. Canteen has all sorts of hot and cold food so it won’t be difficult to plan your day here. It has a large car park finding space is not a struggle and it’s not expensive. Bays are large all sorts of vehicles can fit there no problem.

If you think the Welt is impressive, please step into the museum. Immerse yourself into the past and present plus a glimpse of the future! We spent 3.5 hours and that’s not enough! So much to read. So much to learn. Like I said, we now understand our own cars better! Even my sister, who’s a die-hard Mercedes owner, agreed that both the BMW Welt and the museum were awesome. But now, because of this museum, she wants to visit Stuttgart next, to see whether the Mercedes Museum is as impressive as this one!

A must see if you are a BMW fan, or just love cars, motors, technology and history. You will easily spend at least one hour, probably more. The gift shop is not that interesting, but the cafe is good place to have a snack before you head to the next sight.

History, passion, technology and future of mobility in one place. One of the must see museums while visiting Munich. You need at least 2 hours to visit the museum, catching some live tours or explanations from the museum staff. Across the street you can visit for free the BMW showroom showcasing new models, but also having some rare exhibitions sometimes.

Building looks cool from the outside and the museum design and path are really good, some nice voice features I've never seen before. Some of the bike areas empty but all cars and engine(mostly Formula and planes) sections are great(especially the f1 and and the touring racing). Price is reasonable for 1.5h - 2h museum.

The complete history of one of the biggest automobile brands of Germany. It’s a must visit place. You can easily spend 2-3 hours learning about the BMW history and see all the powerful machines there. They are still adding new bikes and cars. Easy to reach the museum. You can buy the tickets online 10€ per person. You can keep your bags in lockers before going on the museum tour.

A Dream Place to visit for the BMW owners and lovers! Not much to say as you have to come and visit this place. Definitely buy tickets online, save your time on waiting at the counter. We bought tickets online, its was a quick entry for us. Dressing storage room is downstairs, I suggest to drop your coats there as its very warm inside. In this fascinating permanent exhibition, all questions about BMW, brand and product history will be answered and the arc from the beginnings to the present to the future will be stretched. Look forward to a unique experience.

This is truly a wow museum with the auto motive industry timeline of BMW from its beginning over a century ago until the present day. There is a huge selection of motorcycles, airplane engines and cars in this museum. If you are an automotive enthusiast then you will definitely love it. You should expect to spend anywhere between 1-2 hours exploring this multistorey museum building with a €10 ticket.

If you're a BMW fan this is truly the place to visit once in your life. the evolution of the BMW motors from planes and motorcycles to sports/race and modern electric cars is truly amazing, well organized. the Staff are friendly. the Tour through the 3 floors of history is awesome where you can see the greatness of this symbol in the Motor world. The entrance is 10 Euros/adult, 7 Euros/kids and there's special offers for families and group of people. It is very recommended to visit and witness the great history of the BAVARIAN MOTOR WERKS.

I'm giving it just 4 stars because I missed a lot of classic cars. It's centered mostly around post-80s cars. Very good examples, but no historical cars. Also, lighting can be a bit tricky as some parts appear to be way to dark to really appreciate the cars. Also, during my visit, they were removing the motorcycles from the wall, maybe they could've waiting until closing hours?

We really enjoyed our visit to the BMW museum. Nice journey through the history of BMW. Huge variety of cars and motorcycles. I was very impressed how they acknowledged their role in treatment of forced labor workers (Nice exhibit on that history as well). We arrived at opening to avoid the large crowds. By the time we were leaving their was a line to enter. Staff very friendly. Nice little cafe and shop on premises as well. Very easy by metro from center of Munich.

Transportation and engineering enthusiasts will absolutely love this museum. It is beautifully and artfully designed and laid out, and while you are amazed at the innovation, the artfulness of what BMW has done and continues to do is amazing! The U and S stop conveniently right at the entrance, very short walk.

a place you must visit if you come to Munich! The ticket price was 9 euros per person (group > 5). The cars displayed are extraordinary. I did not understand why some people could visit the museum with hand luggage (purse/backpack) and others not. There is the option of a guided tour.

Amazing museum to visit. The BMW Welt is connected to the BMW Museum by a pedestrian bridge. The BMW Welt is free to visit , but the BMW museum costs 10 euros. It worth every penny. The museum is dome shaped and the welt is four cylinder building. Many amazing cars and bikes to see. The factory tour was one of my favorites. We got to see how different parts are made.

Loved this place but everything is expensive for all. Can visit once to experience BMW. The museum traces the history of the aircraft engine-turned-car manufacturer, which is very brief, and hence the collection of vintage vehicles is not as striking as, instance, a big old Mercedes Benz. If you can walk for two hours, take the factory tour, which demonstrates the concurrent manufacturing of three models in one production system, from stamping to welding to painting to assembly, albeit you won't be anywhere near where the shiny vehicles roll off the assembly line, ready to be driven away. There is a lot of stair walking, which can be exhausting for some individuals! Inside the factory, photographing is not authorised.

Absolutely magnificent museum. It is carefully curated and all the areas give some sense of the history of BMW, and for fans and just curious people alike, it is thoroughly recommended. We only spent one hour and a half there, because they closed at 18:00. But I feel like it would take maybe 2-3h to see the Museum perfectly, understanding everything so beautifully displayed there.

It's a good museum with everything about BMW but definitely not worth the 10€, and plus that's only for 3 hours. And very few AMAZING supercars, at least less than expected. So sadly, cannot recommend.

BMW hub in Munich. Wow - we were blown away - a dream come true to visit this BMW centre. We were on our way back to Prague from Legoland and decided to stop over here - what a great decision. The showroom is awesome - all the latest models so nicely displayed. We spent so much time on the floor - took some nice pics as well. Nice museum as well to wow BMW fans - taking you back in time to see where the dream began and where BMW is now. BMW is on another level and this BMW hub just puts that in perspective.

Very good museum.. there is old cars and so many information about bmw company.. and interior is very good. Chargable entry around 10 euro but i bought student ticket price 7 euro. Really cool museum and front of this museum there also bmw welt. In that building Rolls roys and mini and bmw new cars. And there also beautiful Olympic park nd big tower looks so good. I spent full one day there really good day.

Wonderful! Great selection of cars, unfortunately, as of today Aug 17, 2021, the Rolls-Royce exposition is closed. I loved that the museum is very organized and easy to walk around in a single direction.

Tbh, I expected more than that. In comparison with MB museum there some points for improvement, but it's not that bad, so it's worth to visit anyway. P.S. for exhibition manager, this is not a good impression to see a completely damaged car on a podium!

FREE ENTRY. Very nice service and the staffs there are super friendly especially those at the entrance, very patient and friendly to the tourists!! Good job! The BMW museum is cool and clean, but too bad some parts were closed due to the pandemic. Free WiFi is available here. Remember to bring along your covid pass or show the digital certificate in the app.

An excellent experience for the ones who truly love to know and learn about the history of bmw and their significant piece of works. Great museum, great exhibition with free audio if you choose to download their app before starting the visit. You just introduce the number which is next to the exponent and the audio starts to describe it. I liked it and it was very interesting. Also there were some interactive exponents. I wished there were more though

As a BMW enthusiast, this was a total must on my trip to Munich. Would totally recommend taking the guided tour as the guide will give you so much information about the vehicles in all the rooms in the museum, and they might even open the bonnet of some vintage cars for you! The guided tour I took was roughly 1 hour long, but you can stay as long as you want after it’s finished, until the time they close. The collection of vehicles in this museum is really astonishing. Many vintage road cars, race cars, bikes and concept vehicles. Don’t miss out on this amazing place if you’re interested in motorsport, car design, engeneering, automotive history, or just cars I general. You won’t regret it at all!

I liked the museum and to get to know more about the history of BMW and their evolution in conceiving cars, motos and airplanes. But honestly, I was expecting a bit more... some more recent cars were not on the exhibiting. Nor at the BMW Welt ( for instance, some of the most recent i models). It is nice to have several permanent and temporary exhibitions, but some, like the one related to the environment, are not so appealing in my opinion. All staff was nice and helpful. It was a pity to see that the mandatory use of the mask was not follow by some visitors and no one from the museum call their attention. Accessibility to the museum is really good, with the subway train a couple of meters away and really nice underground parking (1€ first hour and 2.5€ additional hours).

Great museum, self-paced or guided tour, directly across from BMW Welt (showroom). Recommend visiting both (museum requires tickets) and rounding it out with a nice Cappuccino at the end. Easily accessible by public transportation, highly recommend.

Nov 4th 2021. I was not planning to go to the museum, but the weather was awful and there was still time to go from 3-6pm. Next time I’ll plane better for a guided tour and to have more time. I was with s friend that did not really wanted more than just see the cars and motorcycles. BWM WELT is a must, across the street, plan so that you have time there too ( all bars and restaurants close by 6pm)

I visited here 2019. If you like BMW this should be a stop for you while in Munich. Nothing particularly blew me away but I really like the cars and was nice to see some history of BMW and check out their headquarters. There was a gift shop inside that surprisingly was well price for gift items. If you’re a BMW fan you should stop by, if not you’re not missing too much.

Great for a casual car fan. I was most interested in the WW1/WW2 era vehicles and was surprised to learn that BMW made jet engines! The museum is well organized with an almost linear path leading down to the bottom that includes a display of classic BMW cars and a dedicated exhibit to BMW’s role during the Third Reich.

Even if you’re not a car/motorcycle enthusiast almost anyone can appreciate the BMW museum, it has the wow factor! It felt like the right amount of vehicles to keep your interest and not bore (speaking as a wife of a car lover). The displays were cool and it felt upbeat.

Really interesting place that wasn't as car focused as I thought it might be. It explored the companies history, thier contributions to various formula competitions, dealt with their complex war time contributions and also the future of the company. Its a really great visit and combined with the Olympic Park next door, is definitely worth the visit.

This place is an absolute must for anybody that likes cars. Not only that the museum is full of very rich history of the BMW company but it is also has all of its models restored and I guess that many of them never even hit the road. I strongy recommend to visit this place and see in your own eyes. By the way if I am not mistaken then the three towers of the offices are representing three cylinders of car motor.

  • 5/5 Karne S. 10 months ago on Google
This is a great place to spend 2-3 hours. The museum is very well put together, and the building itself is very interesting. Very cheap for entry, if you finish up earlier than expected, head across the road to the BMW Welt (free entry).

  • 3/5 Nandita V. 10 months ago on Google
An ode to BMW for sure with some really interesting displays. I found BMW Welt (World) across the rod short and interesting and its free entry. We visited on a Sunday afternoon, there wasn't much crowd. Some of the classic old car displays were quite fascinating, the wall of bikes was cool to see. I feel like the arrangement was a bit haphazard, like it was lacking a storyline/timeline.

  • 5/5 Farzan B. 10 months ago on Google
This is place is totally worth a visit especially if you're a motorcycle enthusiast. Tickets fares are really low compared to the amazing stuff you see there. I personally very much enjoyed their collection of old cars.

  • 5/5 Isuru D. 10 months ago on Google
I paid €10 for the general entry ticket and I think it's well worth the money. There are so many things to look at and it is amazing to know the history and transition of BMW company. It took me close to 4 hours to go through the museum because I read most of the information provided. The feedbacks are it would be better to show the English information in dark colour instead of grey. Because it's hard to see when the lights are on top due to shining. The other one is it would be better to have more merchandises such as varieties of BMW shirts, jackets and caps at the shop.

The BMW Museum in Munich showcases the rich history and innovation of the BMW brand. From vintage classics to cutting-edge models, the museum highlights BMW's evolution in design and technology. Interactive exhibits and multimedia presentations offer insights into automotive advancements. With its sleek architecture, the museum is a must-visit for car enthusiasts and those fascinated by BMW's craftsmanship and contributions to the industry.

For sure a must-see if you’re in Munich, irrespective if you are a fan of the brand or not. Beautiful expositions, lots of models of cars and motorcycles to see (pity not to touch or test drive ;)). A place to learn lots of things and experience history and future simultaneously. You can spend 1 hour there, or full day, depending on your personal interests. A tip: bring 1 euro coin with you. No rucksacks, bags (or even bottle of water :/) allowed to be brought in, you need to leave such stuff in a locker - that’s when the coin proves useful :)

  • 5/5 Jerry A. 10 months ago on Google
Nice museum to visit if you like automotive. Displays some of the historic cars, motorcycles, and products of BMW. The museum walks you through the history of BMW and their values. You get to see pieces from history and the modern ones too. Plan to spend 2-3 hours here. No line when we visited in December. Conveniently located by a train stop.

  • 5/5 Gowtham A. 10 months ago on Google
The best place. Don't go alone as I did. Go with someone or a group so that you can click as many pics as you want with your favourite cars or bikes. Even if you are not an ardent car lover or a die hard fan of BMW like me, you will at least spend a minimum of 2 to 3 hours in the museum. Amazing experience and I missed the factory tour. Note that if you wish to go for a factory tour, you need to book at least 6 to 8 weeks in advance. Otherwise you will not be able to go for a factory tour. But the museum and the welt has no such restriction. You can directly walk in and get the ticket for the museum and the welt needs no ticket and it's free.

  • 2/5 David R. 10 months ago on Google
Without doubt the cars on show are immaculate and stunning. But the museum itself seemed to be undergoing a reorganization leaving many areas closed off. There also appeared to be another exhibition on the top floor which needed additional tickets. M1 bistro was poor, with a few sandwiches and a dried bit of pizza.

  • 3/5 Ming 10 months ago on Google
A popular Steel and Glass museum that engages the sight. All bulky bags will need to be put into lockers that costs €1. You will walk up and down ramps, looking at objects on display and reading factual descriptions about the history of BMW, including its activities during WW2. All displays are no touch. There are a few small screen video feeds and several areas to rest and pause. For enthusiast of cars and motorcycles, there are plenty of eye candies to drool over.

The BMW Museum in Munich is an automobile enthusiast's dream come true! As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by a captivating display of BMW's rich history and innovative engineering. The museum's design is modern and stylish, reflecting the brand's commitment to aesthetics and precision. It takes you on an immersive journey through time, showcasing the evolution of BMW vehicles from their earliest models to the cutting-edge cars of today. The exhibits are beautifully curated, offering a perfect blend of vintage classics and futuristic concept cars. I was amazed by the level of detail in each display, and the interactive elements made the experience even more engaging. One of the highlights for me was the opportunity to learn about the engineering process behind BMW vehicles. The insights into the development and manufacturing were fascinating, giving me a deeper appreciation for the brand's commitment to quality and innovation. The staff at the BMW Museum were knowledgeable and passionate, always ready to answer questions and share interesting tidbits about the cars on display. Whether you're a die-hard car enthusiast or simply curious about automotive history, the BMW Museum is a must-visit destination in Munich. It's a captivating experience that showcases the ingenuity and craftsmanship behind one of the world's most iconic automobile brands. I left the museum feeling inspired and with a newfound admiration for BMW's legacy of excellence. 🚗🏁🏛️

We did the holy trinity of German car museums this week; Porsche, Mercedes and BMW, so it's nice to compare all 3. All 3 as polished and slick as their cars. No complaints from car fans or non car fans. The history and development of all 3 brands are well explained and illustrated with beautiful cars. Plenty for 2 teenage car lovers to enthuse about. At BMW, there are fewer interactive displays than Mercedes, but more technical and engineering stuff on show. Combined with all the katest models in BMW Welt and the stunning architecture, the ticket price is well worth the visit.

I'm absolutely amazed by the quantity of rare, historical, sport cars and motorbikes. The place itself is an architecture masterpiece. It's one of those places you must visit before you die, if you're a car enthusiast. There are many side paths that leads you to a specific rooms for example: every bmw series 3 car, the M room, design room. You can even find Elvis's car ;) Beautiful place

A good display of the history, present, and future of BMW, though the future is better presented in BMW world next door. The cafe there was nice, and the cars and motorcycles were beautiful. I would have liked to be able to touch more and the fact that there was no real AC hurt the experience.

It was well worth a visit, even if you're not a car fan. A route map or numbering system through the museum might prove helpful, to ensure you don't miss anything - even if this was digitally via your mobile phone (the only reason I deducted a star). The museum staff couldn't have been more helpful in choosing the best value ticket for our visit. My daughter particularly enjoyed seeing Elvis' BMW Roadster restored, and singing along to 'Return to Sender' at the mic stand! It was well sign posted from the inner ring road, which was a bonus as a UK driver.

Every enthusiasts dream place but as much as it was interesting and had some good cars/bikes it sort of lacked my expectations. I wanted more, more M cars, Alpinas, maybe even a car to sit in but it's all a bit bland considering. I did learn a few things and would recommend but don't go in expecting a 10 star wow factor

Lovely museum, especially if you are passionate about cars in general and BMW in particular. ❤️🚘 I consider the tickets be a bit pricier 💸 than expected for 1-1.5 hour exposition, but even though, this visit worth it. I would say that this place lands on the second place of auto exhibitions just between Nr.1 Mercedes-Benz and Nr.3 Porsche museums in Stuttgart.

  • 4/5 Naeem A. 6 months ago on Google
Nice! But not that much as the Purchase Museum. It's funny to catch a typing mistake from German to English, not in letters, no, no, it's just in numbers, ladies and gentlemen! See the first picture and let me know what you think about it. But and to be fair, the only reason I am not awarding a full 5-star rating is because some visitors might feel that the entrance fees are slightly high. However, the wealth of knowledge, stunning displays, and the overall immersive experience make it worth every penny. In conclusion, the BMW Museum in München is a captivating journey through the brand's legacy and a must-visit for any car enthusiast. From the impeccably curated exhibits to the opportunity to witness the production process, this museum offers a unique and fascinating insight into BMW's world. It deserves a well-deserved 4-star rating and is definitely worth a visit for anyone with an appreciation for automotive excellence.

Visited November 2023 and enjoyed a lot. The architecture of the building itself is fantastic. If you’re a BMW fan it’s a must visit. In comparison to the Porsche/Mercedes museum in Stuttgart it is smaller and with fewer cars to see (way more motorbikes though, especially the special exhibition) but enjoyable nonetheless. It took me around 1h30 mins to enjoy the whole museum.

This is a very well designed museum of the history of BMW. The interiors and architecture is mind blowing. You will enjoy it thoroughly even if you are not a car enthusiast. It is a pitty it is only BMW.

  • 5/5 Farihal N. 5 months ago on Google
The museum has an entry ticket of 10€ without guide, 20€ with a guide. The BMW world area has no entry fee, you can sit in some of the cars, on some of the bikes on display. In the museum you are not allowed to touch any cars, bikes, or engine parts. This place is worth visiting. The history of BMW is displayed beautifully. It takes about 4-5 hours to see all the levels in both the areas. The two buildings are set apart but connected with a bridge. You can also cross the road and reach one build from another. I started with the BMW world building then visited the museum. The museum is vast. Don't miss the airplane engines on display.

  • 5/5 Joe A. 5 months ago on Google
You get to know the history of BMW, explore cars, motorbikes, engines and other car internals. Museum is big, there is a cafeteria/bistro in the entrance. Great experience. Entrance is 10 EUR, better to buy tickets online so that you have a fast track entrance. You can also scan the QR code there and quickly buy tickets online on the spot.

  • 3/5 Tetiana V. 5 months ago on Google
We expected more from the museum itself, where new cars and motorcycles are top notch, museums don’t provide headphones, the history and eras are completely incomprehensible, you need to take a guided tour, there at certain times. The site for purchasing online tickets does not work, the site is bad. There's a line outside, we're frozen, try buying online and you'll be invited. Not the first museum, but a completely terrible organization.
