Surreal—this place has to be a must-visit if you’re in and around this area, especially for anyone stationed with the US military in Europe. It’s close to the Bastogne War Museum and is accessible by car. Whether you have 10 mins to spare or an afternoon to spend, any amount of time you can give this place will be worthwhile. Kid-friendly and no admission cost. Highly recommend a visit.

Absolute shame that our boys fought and died here so that the Bastogne War Museum could make money off entry to the grounds. Free and open for 78 years until now. Truly shameful.

That part of the woods is closed off and its not shown anywhere on how to get a ticket to enter. I can understand they put a fence around it for protection but more information would be nice

Having seen this place dramatised on the incredible mini series band of brothers, to actually be there was something else. To see the fox holes some 80 years after they were dug, just wow. The app worked but I'd advise downloading it at the museum or where you have a good internet signal as mine was iffy at the site itself but fortunately did work & gave a great portrayal of the events that happened there. No way in without a ticket though. Ours was part of the war museum's entry which may be part of the fee as standard I'm not sure.

This is a part of Bastogne War Museum. You will walk through so peaceful forest today, with the app on your phone showing a real history of Second World War! So real!

Amazing to take the family and also good for a nice calm forest walk. I enjoyed the interactive virtual tour of what it looked like during the war. Highly recommend!

The area was reopened on July 9, 2022. The area is fenced off and you now need a ticket from the Bastogne War Museum to get in. You download an App so you can see a virtual reality scene via your phone of the various foxhole occupied by Easy Company soldiers. There is free wifi in the area so you don't need a signal to download and use the App

The best way to teach the kids history is to take them to see it. Watching Band of Brothers then walking in the same steps. Hard to believe. Glad we made the stop.

An incredible part of history. The phone app to "guide" you is in French with English sub titles. I did not find it user-friendly or that helpful. There is a monument about 1 km from the Bois Jacques foxholes in honor of "Easy Company. " PRO TIP#1: Save your ticket stub from the museum. You must scan it to get in through the locked gate at this location. PRO TIP #2: If you're going to attempt to use the app at Bois Jacques foxholes, download it while you are at the museum and have access to the guest Wi-Fi. As you leave the museum there is a QR code to scan to get the app. I have included a picture of that in this post.

Really nice how they've done this! With an app you can see in the past (all reenactment) but still a nice app! If you've watched band of brothers. This is really a place to visit! !! You have to buy a ticket at the war museum!!

Interesting place to visit... but you have to buy a ticket at the Bastogne War Museum. I couldn't get their interactive app to work... so a little disappointing. On the other hand, as an insight into what the troops must have endured, over looking Foy, during the Battle of the Bulge, it was fascinating.

Only way to gain entry is by having a ticket from the Bastogne Military Museum. Read up on the history of Easy company before going. Put yourself in the middle of a below freezing Christmas Eve, barrages of mortars and artillery coming in, to truly understand how brave and remarkable those men were!

Beautifully done, with a humanized narrative format through free app that makes brings you into the story through an augmentated reality experience. Educational, and enjoyable.

What a moving experience, so quiet, can't imagine what it was like nearly 80 years ago. Visiting here is part of the entrance fee for the Bastogne War Memorial, it's definitely worth the visit too.

Well kept and preserved. It’s private so we got inside with a ticket from Bastogne’s Museum

Bois Jacques is a small wood with foxholes (made famous in Band of Brothers) isn't really a lot to see, downloaded the app and the wood is brought to life. A must visit, well worth it

Beeindruckender Ort.
