Great restaurant, the garden is lovely very peaceful, we enjoyed the grilled fresh fish & loved the bol renverse. Nelson & his turtle won our heart. I strongly recommend

Delicious food! Lots of vegetable options, seafood and non seafood. Everything is fresh and well seasoned. The service is attentive, quick and very nice. We had croquettes de fruit a pain, poulet croustillant, salde de palimiste frais avec et sans fruits de mer, poisson entier, vindaye d'ourite et poulet grillé. Ambiance paisible.

Very nice view!! Calm and relaxing place. Also dishes are delicious and the server is kind and nice. There are some cute dogs. They try to eat our baby’s lunch 😂 I’d like to come vivait again.

My wife and I ate here for my first Father’s Day, and it was not disappointing. The crispy calamari was an excellent starter and for the entree we had Fresh Lobster and Grilled Fish Capitan. Service was excellent and great ambiance next to the lake. I’d highly recommend this restaurant when your in the South of Mauritius.

The food at Restaurant du Lac was absolutely delicious. We ordered the catch of the day (Captain fish), upside down chicken (Mauritian specialty), and papaya salad and I have to say, each course was better than the previous one. We finished the meal with some local fruits and fresh pineapple juice and then stayed on to play with Nelson’s (owner) dog blackie and his turtles. I’d highly recommend eating at this place when you’re in Mahebourg

Very good food on a nicely shaded terrace and very friendly (and funny) landlord. The story about his Sicilian mother and what effect did the coffee have on him almost made me choke of laughter ;-) Definitely a place to recommend.

We had such a great experience at this lovely Mauritian restaurant. Sanjay was so attentive, the food was delicious and the overall ambience was just lovely. We will be back!

Food was exquisite. We were made welcome warmly which is very important. We'll go there again for the food wich was fresh and delicious.

A great find between Mahébourg and Blue Bay, just a few minutes drive from the Point Jerome Embarkation Point. We were hungry after a visit to the Île Aux Aigrettes and enjoyed a late lunch on the terrace overlooking the peaceful garden and lake behind the restaurant. My grilled fish was moist and tasty. My wife’s sizzling prawns lived up to their name too! The host was very friendly. This restaurant also has the benefit of a sizeable car park, so no frustration trying to find a spot by the side of the road for your car. I recommend a visit.

Great option for those, who are in Mahébourg suburb like blue bay. Friendly staff including chef will come to shake hand and talk, prepare you the local food like from your mum according to your preferences. Absolutely recommend this cozy restaurant.

Perfect place to hang out in the shade until time to return to the airport. Advantage is it is open all day, unlike other nearby establishments which close at 3pm. Good food. Very accommodating host, lovely view towards the mangroves and pretty birds to spot whilst enjoying a cold beer under the thatched terrace roof. Doesn't look much from the roadside but the magic happens behind the building. Take the entrance from the carpark at the side of the property.

Nice , cosy and homely restaurant serving fresh seafood on order. Tried the whole grilled fish (Capitaine) served with rice and a veg salad; really enjoyed it. Service was good.

Excellent Food and value for money, Very friendly service. Not too expensive and walking distance from Preskil area. You definitely have to try this restaurant if you’re in the area.

While the location and view were pleasant, our overall experience was just "OKAY." Unfortunately, the service was lacking, with starters taking an hour to arrive despite a relatively empty restaurant. The starters were enjoyable, and the fresh pineapple juice met expectations. However, the main course was disappointingly salty, and we found ourselves actively seeking out waiters for assistance. Considering the pricing, the overall value fell short of expectations.

Followed the recommendations of others to try this place and was really pleased I did! Quite quiet when I visited at lunchtime on a Sunday, but a beautiful setting with warm service and delicious, fresh seafood. Pay attention to the team's advice -- today they recommend I have a mixed seafood grill, rather than a whole fish, as the days catch had been disappointing... and the mixed grill certainly wasn't! Couldn't resist popping back for dinner the following night: delicious octopus salad, followed by the most perfect grilled lobster, with the restaurant's signature sauce. Thank you! 😋

We went on a very quiet evening. The location is charming. The host was great fun and we all had a very good time. We enjoyed fried Fingerfood with the signature cocktail which was strong, but delicious. Palm heart salad was great. We tried grilled Capitaine, a local fish. Both the curry sauce, and the Creole sauce were delicious. We left will feed and in a good mood

Beautiful restaurant and there is nothing the chef won’t cook for you. The food was fragrant and spicy and we couldn’t have asked for more local and authentic service and food. We felt spoilt And will certainly come back.

The food was just amazing. Very authentic and fresh fish! The vegetarian Curry was quite spicy but delicious.
