One of the best and most convenient places in HRM bar none. Lots of FREE Parking, Grass to lay out Beach ⛱️ Blankets and or Towels, 2 Park Benches or Bring your favorite Beach ⛱️ Chairs 💺, Easy Stair Access into the water 💧 Garbage 🗑 Can's, Porta Potty in the woods near the Beach ⛱️ 😎 Area. Shaded Areas on the sides to get out of the Sun 🌞, Life Guards July 1st to Aug 30th. Water very gradually gets deeper. Suitable for kids, no worries 👍 Many Bring Inflatable Paddle Boards, along with Tubes, Dingy Boats 🚢, life Jackets and Snorkel /Scuba Gear. Just about anything and everything you can think of that's used in the water 💧. Close to Grocery, Gas and Fast food near by Mill Cove 😋 . Water is Clean and Clear and Refreshing on a Hot Summers ☀️. A friendly hint is to wear water shoes and or Crocs in the water as the ground under water is slightly Rocky for those with tender tootsies! Enjoy! 😉

Beautiful for a kayak ride or just to take a dip on a hot day.

Not too crowded, the lake gets deep gradually (vs drop-off) which is nice for little kids. The grassy area is steep so may not be a place people will want to set up for a day. I like the stone steps right into the water. Right on a bus route, too! The place you may think is a parking area is actually a no-parking zone so be careful!

Great lake, stairs leading down. Rocky in the shore area so if you prefer watershoes in that terrain bring them. Parking can be dicey on a hot day.

As a visitor to Papermill Lake in Bedford, it is immediately evident that this body of water boasts not only aesthetic appeal, but also a range of recreational opportunities. The stunning vista of the lake is sure to impress, and the presence of a well-maintained hiking trail, both along the shoreline and through the surrounding wooded area, adds an additional layer of enjoyment for outdoor enthusiasts. It is worth noting that the lake is also conducive to family outings, as it is suitable for children. In terms of accessibility, Papermill Lake is conveniently located in close proximity to the town of Bedford, and is easily traversed on foot. Overall, Papermill Lake is a top-notch recreational area that offers something for everyone.

Very nice peaceful lake! Great for kids and adults! Parking can be somewhat difficult to find on a busy day. The beach area gets crowded on a busy day too, but it's a very lovely place, it starts off with a nice wide shallow area in the lake and you can go further for deeper parts. I wish more lakes in Halifax had a kid friendly beach area.

Busy spot for families. Cement stairs are slightly slippery to enter water. A fairly small hill of grass to sit and soak up sun and watch your kids. Nice lake to paddle board in

Not too much of a beach, grass with cement stairs. There's an outhouse and barely 10 parking spots.

This lake is one of our favourites in the city to go to. It has beautiful views, people watching opportunities and is always very calm and serene. Parking can get a bit crazy but I've always been able to find some.

Clear enough water, water is a good temp. Lots of little islands to visit and one of them has a rope swing. ONE OF MY FAV LAKES

Beautiful little spot to go kayaking or take a quick walk around the lake. Very well kept, no garbage and it looks like a few good fishing spots.

Small grassy hill with man-made steps to enter the clean looking water. The base appears to be mostly sandy and had some smaller rocks. There are lifeguards on duty daily throughout the summer.
