Great off-leash trail for dogs. Humans bring your bug spray because the flies will easily carry you away if it's the right time of day.

Great off-leash (October-June) forest park. A short path leads to a beach area and the rest of the paths are forest paths leading down to the lake. I was disappointed that there is no map anywhere at the park of the trails. Luckily, I had my phone and looked up the map. There are many trails that are not on the online maps of the park - probably desire paths. The signs showing where was off-leash sometimes contradicted each other. Overall, a solid 4 stars. My dog loved bounding through the forest. I went after heavy rain and the forest floor was very slippery but made the fall colours extra pretty.

Top rated place to go for off leash trails hiking with Negan! If you go off the main trail, some areas are not well marked and easy to wander in the wrong direction. It is typically wet and muddy trail and sadly garbage has been left by others. There is no garbage containers in the off season time, except at the front entrance. Reminder to bring out what you brought in.

It is great calm park, have lunch seats and located at the front side of a small lake beach which you can swim either. There are restrooms and very beautiful picnic area, but the only thing that you should think about it is parking lot. The parking lot is kind of far from the park, it's located in a place surrounded by trees, out of attention which may lead to incidents such robberies or breaking car windows. Moreover, you need to walk almost 1000 feet walking to get to the park from the parking lot. Please press like on my review if you are agree with me. Thank you,

Great little park. Some nice hiking paths and a life guarded little beach. Not much sand but clean and lots of free parking.

Sandy Lake Park in Bedford is a hidden gem that is perfect for a day of family fun. The park has a beautiful sandy beach that is perfect for swimming and sunbathing, as well as a variety of recreational activities such as hiking, fishing, and picnicking. The park is well-maintained, with clean facilities and friendly staff. The scenery is stunning, with lush greenery and a peaceful atmosphere. We had an amazing time at Sandy Lake Park and can't wait to go back again. Highly recommended!

Excellent place to take your dog for an off leash walk. Lots of trails, lots of Lake access. Wear boots!

Nearly no gravel trails, it's all unkept trails through the woods. The "beach" is tiny and no way accommodating for everyone to even fit. Much better places to go. Point Pleasant Park and Shubie are so much better.

Horrible!!! Not easily accessible (even for able bodied people) Road going down to "beach" is washed out and almost dangerous. The sand is not on the water. They just dumped it on part of the grassy area. No actual beach. Stairs go in to the water. If I could give less than 1 star I would

This park was a great discovery, only 20 minutes from downtown. The lake is ideal for young kids since it has a very shallow grade even more so than a wading pool. The beach and part of the water were in the morning shade. The park was clean, beautiful, had both a lawn and a sandy area above the beach to play in and it has washrooms.

SAVE SANDY LAKE. Plenty of places we don't all like to visit that you can turn into houses. No one is solving the housing crisis with more luxury lake side 5 bedrooms.

The trails are awesome at this park. Soft ground and relatively still wild.
