Chuan Heang is a good place for lunch/dinner thanks to its affordable pricing and unique dishes, including Mantou (steamed buns), deep fried baby chicken, and Thai-style pork knuckle. Perhaps two drawbacks are their cleanliness and the wait time which can be a bit agitated especially during peak hour.

Mantou is really special. It's one of those dishes that you must try at least once in your life. Fried rice with mantis prawn is also my favorite dish here. Very rustic place. Price is affordable.

This restaurant has been serving the stomach for bedong people for more than three decades. The food is delicious and very consistent. The mantou is good but getting pricey due to inflation. The price is RM3.00 per piece now

Excellent food with that unique home taste. The mantou with pork and fish head ginger are my favourites for a long time now. Taste is consistent throughout, always a family gathering point whenever we are in town. If you can look beyond the 'cleanliness' and aren't expecting fast dish out during peak hours, you'll be dining like a satisfied Cheshire. Five stars if place looks tidier. Personally I like it as it is, evokes an authentic old feel, no A/C, car park just front of shop. It's very 'balik kampung'!

From outside, this place may look run down, but a few of the dishes are very unique. If you are here, you should order the signature man tao, fried pork sandwich which mix the deep fried and soft steam Bun. Ordered the curry wild boar, Stir Fried vegetables, Claypot tau foo and fried chicken too. Definitely will come back again for the man tao.

Happened to stopover in Bedong on the way to AS, and this restaurant happened to be close by and opened, so decided to do lunch. I was alone, the restaurant owner/worker apparently paid no heed and I had to go over to inquire about food and drink. Service was pretty much lacking, and the drink seller (owner?) seemed arrogant. I was even asked to relocate to a smaller table. Food served was average. Better go try elsewhere.

I have been coming here for the past 30 years. Very nice owner, good food, and cooks vegetarian meals by request too. Price is so affordable and portion is good. The bitter gourd fried with egg is very delicious!

Will highly recommend the mantao. Unique taste and definitely worth a try. The fish was quite fresh and the food here was reasonably priced. One of the few good options in this area. Don't expect any good service or environment from here though as it's a Chinese restaurant serving locals.

Retro restaurant at bedong. One of the best tomyam available here.. memories having family dinner with late father.

Ok for a family dinner but for the price, there are many better cafe options in Amanjaya and Laguna. Food is average at best. Their Wat tan hor was surprisingly good with the right amount of 'wok hei'. RM40 for fried salted egg squid reasonable but I found it too salty. Atmostphere is disappointing by city standards.

Crispy on the outside, juicy on the fish fillet together with the sauce plus the fluffy mantao is a must-order in the list

Food is nice, but abit overpriced… A fish cost RM132.00, similar fish cost around 70-80 in other restaurants in SP. Almost Penang/KL price. Fried pork knuckle RM56.00 i feel reasonable. Anyway food is good and unique especially the fried mantou. Will come back for that. Fried mantou RM3.00 per piece. Expect the dinner of 4 person to be around RM150-160 But ended up paying RM250+ Perhaps we didnt ask the price properly before ordering.

If you are from SP, taste still same. Man tou still there. Not the best food in town, but good enough to remind you of memories.

Don't be fooled by their unassuming exterior which is indistinguishable from other roadside Chinese kampung restaurants. Their dishes are good, but the highlight has got to be the 鱼肉馒头 (fish mantou) which is a MUST TRY and deserves 5-stars by itself.

It is known for its mantow. It is something like a Chinese style of burger. Nothing fancy but you can try it and make your own decision. The food there is average. Between Penang and Alor Setar it is one place you can have chinese foods cooked to order. It's in Bedong town. From Penang you have to reach through north Sg. Petani and from Alor Setar through Gurun.

Went to this restaurant to have dinner with family. Ordered fish steamboat, soup, japanese tofu, fried kangkung and drinks. The fishball in the soup rotten when complained to the person who brought bill seems doesnt reply, as my father paid, he just left without any action. Asked for extra rice, the staff telling that rice been finished. Wth? really? Okay everythg seems not rght. And then comes this uncle from no where started to shut down around 9.30 itself and almost all the shutter closed. Too noisy, very awful to enjoy the dinner. The staffs seems unfriendly. Lastly we out the restaurant by the door at back. Ridiculous. The food is just ok. Will never go again.
