This place is far from home in another country... actually only about 60 min except for the congested border entry to the US on a Sunday. Anyway. This place is awesome. Loved the vibe. Our server was super warm and friendly and made the experience even better. My son wanted to do military dress up today so we did it together and his dinner choice was a waffle that he loved. I on the other hand am doing vegan keto so I had to stick with salads...Which was hard to do in a place like this with so many great options on the menu. I got the beet salad and a kale salad. The beet salad was good but kale salad was great! I think if my wife and I were able to have a nice date here and we could have some drinks it would be a great night. Looking forward to returning.

Came here for the first time a few months ago. Restaurant was clean and staff was somewhat friendly. Felt that we were unattended to quite a bit and had to frequently make contact with our waitress. I love vegan food and was surprised at how delicious most of the items we ordered were. The only thing that was quite bland was the pasta. The seitan wings were amazing and the flavor profile was awesome. I did enjoy the salad. Would be curious to try other options off the menu.

While I’m not vegetarian I appreciate a good meal and a healthy one at that. Vegan Hippie Chick offers plenty of plant based meat options for the Herbivore at heart or those looking to expand their palate. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options. The food is full of flavour and fresh and the service great. Will be back to try more of the menu in the future.

We’ve wanted to stop here numerous times but could never make it work. Today, August 20, 2023 was the day, and it was beyond expectations. Steph was an incredible server and took amazing care of us. She was personable, attentive, informative, and made us completely comfortable. The food was next level!! We were expecting great and it was so far beyond great that my words can’t possibly do it justice! We showed up during Sunday brunch and the choice of amazing sounding specials and the amazing looking food we saw arriving at other tables made our choice incredibly difficult. But a choice was made and we couldn’t have been happier. Flavour explosion!!💥 If you’ve never been…change that. If you’re passing by/through Welland, do yourself a favour and make the time to visit Vegan Hippie Chick, you will NOT be disappointed.

One of the best vegan places around. The menu is outrageous - the selection is incredible. I have been here a few times (mostly take out) and have always felt super welcomed by the staff. Love this place and always recommend it to fellow vegans/vegetarians who visit the area!

Delicious food an explosion of flavors in your mouth. That was my experience. Friendly service and clean restaurant. Will definitely be coming back for more!

Favourite spot in Welland. Mandy’s a sweetheart and Tino’s always so warm and welcoming. Mandy’s adventurous and always finds a way to improve the overall dining experience. They’re in the midst of trying to make all the items in house and I absolutely love that I get to be involved with the whole experience. Looking forward to my next visit. Buffalo cauliflower wings, deep fried oyster mushrooms and the ravioli dishes are absolute favourites. Highly recommend!

I have eaten at VHC on a number of occasions now and have always loved the food. The owner and other staff are very friendly and always accommodating of my toddler and baby. The chick'n wings are hands down the best you will ever taste. I would highly recommend to both vegans/veggies and omnis. You won't be disappointed!

We absolutely love The Vegan Hippie Chick and her team! So much so, that we hired them to cater our all vegan wedding! We were absolutely BLOWN AWAY with what Mandy and her team did for us! We asked for a Vegan-Charcuterie Grazing Table and what they created was straight out of a magazine! 98% of our guests, who were NOT vegan raved the entire night as well as weeks after about how amazing the food was! Mandy and her team went absolutely above and beyond in making our vision come to life! I actually, couldn’t have dreamed of what she came up with! So creative! Even if you’re not vegan - I would hire this team. They put their entire heart and soul into their work and it damn well shows! Thank you so much for everything! Can’t wait to come eat at the restaurant again soon!

If I could give more stars I would! Hands down the best plant based food I have ever had. Drove two hours to buy a bunch of vegan food with my friend and would drive twice the distance for VHC. We had the Reuben and it was the best sandwich ever, do not leave without one. Also had the Crispy Chicken sandwich with the tater tots and again, completely blown away. Those taters were magical and the chicken had an amazing texture with a crispy exterior. We split the Mac and Cheese and demolished it within minutes. The pictures aren't flattering or too pretty but it's the taste that matters and it will make your day wonderful. WILL be back for another Reuben and dying to try the seitan bites. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

This place is so good. Especially if you’re vegan. The food is amazing and a really good portion size. The restaurant and washrooms are very clean. The staff are nice and friendly. I have to stop by this restaurant every time I’m in the area.

The staff are wonderful and the food is amazing! Try the TLTA and you will not be disappointed - I hate to admit it, but it was tastier than the meal I had at a 3 Michelin Star restaurant in Tokyo. Good job guys! 🫡 My favourite restaurant in Niagara! 😊

Where do I even start ! Let me first say I am not a vegan by any means but I love trying new things especially when they are close to home ! I frequent VHC quite often especially in the summer with my mom after we finish work , or for dinner with my sister after we walk over from the canal trail by my house ! We have not yet had one bad meal or one thing we haven’t liked yet ! We always get two things and split it so we can try something new each time ! My personal favourite is the bruschetta and the fries supreme 🤤🤤🤤 The quality of the food is outstanding I’ve fed leftovers to my dad and he didnt even know it was vegan until I told him 🤣🤣 Keep up the amazing food & than your staff for all the amazing lunch & dinner services ❤️

New to the area, had to try this place based on reviews. Holy. Deliciousness. Every bite we tried was better than the last. Amazing drinks, large menu, and everything was fresh and delicious. Large portions too! The best mozzarella sticks I’ve ever had, and I had the Buffalo chick’n Mac n cheese- it was incredible!! And the desserts are drool worthy. I will 100% be back here!!

Dinner date! Food was really good! Atmosphere was cool too. Small restaurant, with limited seating. Has live entertainment on the weekends I hear! Must go back to enjoy!

I have mixed feelings about this place. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but the only dish I really liked was the garlic pull apart bread. I also ordered the mac and cheese. The presentation was beautiful, but the bread crumb topping was so salty that I had to scrape it off. Service was great though, the staff was very nice and provided everything we needed.

Having endless options for someone that has to eat gluten/vegan was incredible. I got the walnut and mushroom pizza, my partner got the fish and chips. Both were amazing, portions are big so can definitely get you at least 2 meals. Service was so friendly and fast. Will definitely be coming back

I found out about this restaurant from my vegan daughter; she raved about it, so I reserved a table for her birthday. We traveled about 40 km to get there, but it was definitely worth it. Starting with the flexible business hours (on a Tuesday when a lot of restaurants are closed), the ease of making a reservation, friendly communication, ambiance of the place, genuinely friendly and professional server, diversity of the menu, and last but not least, one of the best vegan food I have eaten. My husband is not a vegan, but he liked the food a lot. The portions are generous, and the presentation is picture worthy. I would go back anytime, and I am wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I wish they can open a place in Niagara-on-the-Lake where we live, because the vegan choices in our town are unfortunately very limited.

This vegan business is amazing because they know how to accommodate me (because I have food allergies) and make me feel welcome in every way by giving me the best service and make my food delicious. Especially I love their veggie wrap with fries. (Please keep that on the menu for people like me)

Friendly service and helpful with recommendations. The young man who hosted me and my wife, served and also bartended us. He took care of our needs and walked us through the popular dishes. He even helped out in the kitchen picking the best leaves for our side salads. The chef has talent and her passion comes through the dishes. Fresh made gnocchi were delicious and peach mules were very refreshing. In fact, I reordered them several times. My wife had the eggplant parmigiana and found it filling. She couldn’t finish it so I did. Delicious. the space could use a little tender love and care.

What a great find in Welland!! 100% vegan, creative and delicious. We enjoyed the hearts of palm fish and chips. Brilliant use of hearts of palm and fries made from potatoes were perfection!!! The shawarma cauliflower wrap was super tasty. Served in a naan which was a bit too bready. We opened and ate it open faced. Extra bonus - vegan resto with a full bar!!! Creative mixed drinks.

The first time I went to the Vegan Hippie Chick was for a Drag it to Brunch before the pandemic. Since then, we have gone many times and have never been disappointed....and we aren't even Vegan!!! The atmosphere and staff are amazing. The food is absolutely delicious and it is somewhere that our child and their partner feel comfortable and safe. Keep up the amazing work Mandi, Corey and staff in keeping the Vegan Hippie Chick inclusive!

First visit and I'm very impressed. Portion sizes are great, you get what you pay for. Flavouring and food is phenomenal. It was quiet on a Sunday when I visited, so service was not lacking in any way. I'm not vegan by any means, but this is a substantially better value size wise than meat alternatives that I've gone too. Highly recommend.

The pastas that we ordered were full of flavour and balanced nicely with the sauces. Vegan mac&cheese with buffalo oyster mushrooms was filling and smooth. The truffle ravioli was fantastic as well. Loved every bite. Service was excellent, even got to talk with kitchen staff. Top notch, we will come back!

I love the place and I love the food. Just one thing. The past few times I have been there I have stood at the door a long time waiting to be seated. The last time two employees were behind the bar and they saw me I'm sure. They said nothing and kept me waiting although the place was not busy. I work in a restaurant and would never do this. Even when it's busy I'll at least tell them I'll be a minute and seat them swiftly. The past few times were similar. You should really get on top of this since it's most annoying not even to be acknowledged. Other than that service is good and food is excellent.

Oh my goodness! So tasty! I got a simple coffee but it was really good! I’m not used to proper, hot, GOOD coffee from small shops. I went just for one coffee & the owner was so kind, friendly, welcoming.. very lovely, thank you!

I’ve been going here at least every other month or so since it was originally a little cafe down the street. But the new menu is so incredible I finally have to leave a review of this amazing vegan restaurant. The new vegan “fish” menu items are outstanding. I love that they’re not made from a “substitute” but just a little known vegetable, freshly battered and perfectly fried. I ordered both the fish tacos and the fish and chips because I couldn’t decide. The server we had this evening was professional and down to earth and made our visit very pleasant. We drive 45 minutes from Dunnville to get there, so if you’re anywhere in the region I promise it’s worth the drive to Welland to go to The VHC.

The new brunch is amazing. I get the smoothie bowl and avocado toast every Sunday!

Nothing but good things to say about this place. Shared a meal today on Easter Sunday. The food was excellent, the host was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was second to none. Will definitely be back ! I'll be waiting for the mushroom reuben 🙂 and don't forget the love and compassion. God has definitely blessed this place and the people ✨💗🫂❤️🙏

I cant believe its not meat!. I just had a pizza and the chick'n wings.. and wow. It was so so so good; i am still surprised at how tasty it was. VHC will make it so much easier for me to cut my meat consumption. This is my new treat night place to go.

Such an amazing place for any vegans in Welland, my girlfriend has bought food multiple times here and she’s never had a bad complaint, they’re always so nice when ordering takeout and never take an outrageous amount of time to make your food. Would recommend

It was absolutely amazing. My wife and recently started dabbling in vegan food. We were VERY pleased to find a local vegan restaurant. Definitely is a favourite in my books. The atmosphere is great, the food was next level. My personal favourite are the cauliflower bites! If you feel like trying something new with friends or just you, you will not be disappointed!

Met a vegan friend for lunch yesterday. Ordered the pepperoni pizza. They were out of the pepperoni, offering sausage, instead. It was very good, and they even sent us couple of free crabless cakes (also tasty,) while we were waiting. Outdoor seating was nice. Staff were friendly and attentive. You don't have to be vegan to eat here. I'm glad I tried it out!

Truly excellent quality food. I am not a vegan nor a vegetarian but I need to eat vegan for 2 weeks .... I wasn't sure I will like it .... I loved it; I am certainly going back 👍👍👍

Ordered for the first time this past Wednesday and got their Wednesday special. AMAZING! Everything was soooo good. I also highly recommend getting the vegan buffalo chicken dip... SO good and a very generous portion! I will definitely be ordering again! I was very impressed with their food and service. Update: we dined in last week and the food was amazing! Staff were very friendly :)

Excellent food and great service! We dined indoors and it was spacious and enjoyable. Reservations aren't required, but are recommended for the dinner rush. The food was even better than expected, especially the kale Caesar salad! The food is a great deal. It's not too expensive and you get so much food for the price. We can't wait to visit again soon!

The waitress was so sweet! Theyake everything from scratch when you order so some things may take up to 30 minutes to make, but if you take an appetizer than the wait goes by really quickly. The food was great and I was too full to try their dessert, but they looked great. The decor was nice, and they have a terasse. The menu is obviously all vegan, and they have tons of gluten-free options! We made the detour while visiting Niagara Falls and it was definitely worth it.

Beyond my expectations. The nachos are the best I've ever ate! Mozzarella sticks 😋 yum. Makes me want give up on other restaurants after trying it! The server and staff were very nice 👌

Absolutely awesome. Spinach dip was great, and the cauliflower wings are awesome. Hopefully coming again soon!
