July 2023: because this a 2 start review, let me introduce my self first so everyone is sure that this is not a fake review. I am a level 8 reviewer with more than 220 reviews around the world, my photos are viewed more than 48 million times thus far. Let's get into it, I had 2 stays 3 days apart. This hotel is older but clean and everything works. Has a safe and a mini fridge in the room ( big plus for me). first stay was in king bed, large room and bathroom. Perfect fast WiFi Second stay single room single bed ok size bathroom. Spotty WiFi disconnects often. The 2 start is for the rooms not having a water sprinkler in the toilet. I come to learn that they have it but not in all rooms. For an Arab person that's just a big no-no. This is an Arab Muslim country and no excuse for this. I pointed that to reception they said they can install one but it will take time. Not an acceptable answer.

Very unprofessional! Two hours before check-in, I received a call from the hotel that they have to cancel the booking with a very silly reason, that the previous guest wanted to prolong his reservation another night although we have booked. Unfortunately, this will be the last time I ever book here

I had visited this hotel multiple times before in the past years but this trip I was very disappointed the staff were not supportive at all. We got sick and ask them to call the pharmacy, and they said no and told us to call them and since we are not locals, we were not able to, and had to leave the room while being super sick to fetch some ourselves. They also charge extra for the weirdest things like asking for a fork and there was no kettle in the room. We had to order food because we were so sick and when the delivery guy would show up one of the hotel, staff would bring the food up and complain that he has a lot of other work to do and doesn’t have time to help us out. The rooms are slightly older than usual and no plugs were working well. One employee even tried to enter our room after we said that we did not want anyone to enter, as we were very tired and used a countdown to threaten to open the door.

The Mayflower hotel will take care of you like no other hotel in Hamra! Room was very pleasant, it was cozy and clean, it had all your basic amenities, great AC as well for the hot summer nights. Staff and service were excellent and immaculately polite. The hotel team were always friendly, patient and helpful. What impressed me the most was how kind the owner was after a misunderstanding with transportation [to and from the hotel] , he offered us a complimentary ride to the airport because of this, which showed us that he truly cares about the guests. Thank you to the Mayflower Hotel for looking after us, we enjoyed our stay and will be coming again!

My friend has been living there for quite some time and I visited her recently. I was in the reception area waiting for my friend. I checked at reception if I could use the Wi-Fi. They were aware that I am a visitor but they still allowed me to use the internet. It was very polite of him. My friend is upgraded to duple as there was some issue with services and they wanted to make it up to the guest and they did. The hotel is quite old and needs better maintenance otherwise the staff is surely decent and the location of the hotel is also perfect. You can visit -Zaituna Bay - Cornise - Mim Museum - ABC Mall - Al Amin Masque - Martyer Square etc.

Three stars only because of its good location. Otherwise old building with very old furniture. The restroom needs to be fixed. We asked for iron before arriving and they said it is available but unfortunately it is only available in the morning.

Just an advice to the management change the rate of the hotel from 4 stars to 2 stars hotel as it doesn't meet the criteria of 4 stars hotel. Train the FO to smile to the guests and the receptionist must greet the guests before the guests do not wait for the guest to greet them first. Very dirty hotel is not clean enough and very noisy.

Slow Wi-Fi. They double charged me for one extra day. Claimed the charge did not go through so I paid cash. Then the charge appeared ten days later on my credit card.

Rooms were good especially when we upgraded to a family suite. Pool was too small. Staff was very helpful.

Location is great, you can walk everywhere. Service and staff are super. The only issue we had, A/C was not working during our stay in July.

The location of the hotel is excellent in the center of hamra near the important features nearby. There’s alot of shopping areas and eating places nearby. The rooms are nice however the furniture is old and the bathrooms need repairs. Also there were no drain stopper so you cant use that . One particular thing that’s so uncomfortable to deal with about the hotel is that the receptionist. The day i arrived the receptionist was so stiff and rude dealing with us with an attitude like we were no customers and he offered us rooms at diffrent floors and when we asked for diffrent setup he stated that either we take it or leave it just like that . Most of the interaction with that particular receptionist was like he was ignoring us most of the time and treat us poorly when interacting with. Honestly the rest of the receptionist and the staff were friendly and polite. One other thing is that there’s alot of delay when you ask for something, for example i asked for an iron for my clothes it took them 3 calls and 2 visits to the reception counter to deliver that to my room. Same for the bath tub drain stopper but they never delivered it . The rooms contain fridge that you get charged if you used any of the items there. And don’t use the telephone line for calls outside the hotel because you’ll get charged for also. I recommend staying at this hotel despite all pf what i mentioned.

The hotel was nice clean as they have upgraded my room however frankly speaking there was no complementary water there was no central AC so it’s like a fan and noisy also the price was higher compare to other three start hotel 55$ Finally, the location was pretty good in Hamra Street closed to nice restaurants

I stayed there for 3 weeks last year, working remotely. The hotel was amazing. Electricity by the generator around the clock, and therefore air conditioning and reliable internet. The staff were super friendly. They were very nice to me when I was at the reception at odd hours of the night to connext to my work on the other side of the world. The owner even instructed the staff not to vaccum around me while I was working! I WAS SPEECHLESS! The bar downstairs is very nice and has good food. The location is amazing. Close to everything you need to enjoy what Beirut has to offer. I am in love with the place and the area! Most importantly the people.

Mayflower hotel is a cozy one, right in the middle of Hamra street, the area is a bit busy and crowded most of the day, lots of shops and a supermarket just around the corner, not super fancy but does the job, usually the prices are ok, there is a little pub just next to it with lots of others at every corner of the area.

Very nice hotel and good value for money. Located in the heart of Hamra and surrounded by many cool cafes and bars and close to the airport. Nice rooftop with a small pool. Rooms are big and clean. The view from the rooms is not quite nice but works for those who don’t stay that long in hotel. Breakfast is limited and usually the same.

Nicely located in Al Hamra. The hotel is an exhausted building with old furniture. The carpet looked very old and dirty. The only smiling person is the bellman who looked so nice. I inquired about an iron before arrival and I was told it is available upon request. We found out that it is available only in the morning. The toilet needs some attention as there is some water.
