I was here to see the castle and here I found a nice place to get some lunch. The owner was very friendly and the food was fresh and good. I had a delicious calamari stew.

Uma típica tasca... ESPANHOLA, encravada no meio de Portugal, comandada pelo espirituoso José e sua simpática esposa. Especializada em carne de porco. Detalhe para as batatas fritas cortadas à mão e fritas na hora. A comida é deliciosa e a atenção muito especial, tornam o momento muito agradável e proveitoso. What a refreshing option when visiting Beja! We were looking for a restaurant to have lunch with my baby and family and found this treasure. The couple that owns and runs the place has managed to bring Andalucía to their dishes. Goat cheese from Huelva, batatas bravas, gambas al ajillo And their specialty meat! Great place

Unpretentious place with tasty food and hearty portions. Friendly service and reasonable prices too. Around 11.50E for dish of the day which includes bread & olives, a drink and coffee. Huelvas rotas (local sliced ham, with fried potatoes and eggs) very good as were the croquettas, garlic prawns & chicken with coriander (dish of the day). Simple place but much more rewarding than some of the fancier/pricier options.

Very nice break during the journey from Évora to Olhao. The owner is very kind. Tortilla de batatas was delicious!
