There's more than one Boathouse that's become a quaint restaurant with a waterfront view. This spot in Quinte/Belleville is no exception! After exodus from the big city, we arrived here for dinner noticing it was quieter than usual due to the earlier rainstorm & gloomy weather. It was pitch dark outside but a perk was that we seated into a spacious corner booth to enjoy an intimate family meal. Seafood is aplenty on the menu to align with the Boathouse theme. The Haddock New Orleans was an inspired attempt at flavours of the French Quarters with fish blackened & topped with abundant shrimp on creole sauce. It was lightly spiced with mild herb flavours. Instead of just fish & chips, we also tried the Captain's Feast with crispy breaded scallop, extra large battered fish fillet & coconut shrimp. With heavily fried food, we only dented into half of the feast! For kids meal, the Pasta Alfredo was quite plain in both taste & appearance, but did come with a cup of juice. Of course, you can't have a seafood feast without chowder! It was sadly forgotten here till our meal was nearly done. An energetic waitress kindly apologized. The miss was no big deal, except chowder ingredients (shrimps) were cooked till mush. Better to stick to fish & chips! Hard to tell if this soup was just an end-of-day scoop. A summer lunch visit would certainly be more ideal at this local favourite.

First things first...Amanda you were amazing!! Thanks for your excellent service, recommendations and patience with us. Visited the city today and someone recommended this local restaurant. The biscuits literally melted in our mouths. A must try! We ordered the Captain feast with a side of showder and sweet fried potatoes and the New Orleans haddock with same sides. Ordered another plate of coconut shrimps just because!!! Everything was perfection! It was too cold to sit outside but the view was so nice. A beer and a white sangria to go with the meal. The swans swimming outside added such a nice touch and the music and ambiance in general made the evening special. When we left it was pretty crowded but when we arrived before 5pm was not so bad.

Amazing food and very accommodating. We showed up with our new puppy and 6 month old baby, they promptly set up a space for us on their front patio. We had a private dining experience all to ourselves. Even though we were the only table out front and it was very busy, our waiter was amazing and so attentive to our needs.

The food was fresh and delicious. I did not like the texture of the clam chowder, it was a bit lumpy, but the taste was good. Unfortunately the decor was not too good and there was water dripping on the table (some condensed water probably from the AC). The servers were kind, but clearly inexperienced. The place needs a bit more love and better management.

A very nice restaurant by the lakeshore! We ordered pan seared scallops and seafood linguine. The food was very tasty and had a good portion, and the seafood linguine is a must try! However, the side vegetables of my scallops are a letdown. It was just blanched and lacked seasoning, so it was just bland. Wish it was grilled or sauteed. It can really lift this dish to another level. And by the way they put the seared side of the scallops downward when plating for some reason, it looks much better after I flipped them over. The location of this restaurant is good as well with a lovely view of the lake. It was a shame that the day we came was raining, but we enjoyed the food though.

Love the shrimp Tacos. My guest had the salmon and said it was divine. Table service is relaxed...so if you are in a hurry maybe sit at the bar? Friendy, clean and great food.

Loved the place. It was just about sunset on Easter Sunday. It was a quiet night for them, I can see the place being packed at sunset on a warmer day. I liked the decor, very much looked like it used to be a boathouse. Service and pleasant and efficient. Parking right in front. Not just seafood (one kid had chicken). The server warmed me the steamed vegetables side was mostly carrots, so I wasn't surprised when there was one floret each of broccoli and cauliflower - don't recommend for vegetarians.

First time and last time here. Would've given half a star but I'm being generous, our server was good. Definitely had my hopes up for this place, the food was not that great, and... Unfortunately, my 16 month old got food poisoning (she had the bacon wrapped scallops) she's had scallops before (homemade) and was fine For the price we paid it's a complete rip off. Server was good and that's basically it.

Great food, very fresh and great place straight on the water. Easy to find parking too, at least at this time of year (mid October). We went for the Jambalaya and the fish and chips (changed the chips for coleslaw), the portions are big and so good! A pity they did not bring back the All you can eat fish and chips dish. Definitely would go back again.

Let me just start by saying the food portions were great for the prices and it seems to be a very frequented location. There is a blurb on the back of the menu that states all the awards given to the restaurant, I thought that was kinda neat. We were a large party and I think the lady helping us did great for such a loud bunch (there was only one person helping our large party). Now for the food… even though the portions were awesome the flavours were just alright. The calamari was showered in way too much black pepper, the seafood chowder had no salt (that being said it was very yummy and thick, loved how hearty it was), we also ordered fish and chips (one of each option), coconut shrimp, fish tacos, seafood linguine, maple glazed salmon (not glazed, just salmon drowning in syrup), chicken wings and the biscuits. Everything was very filling, all in all it was a great one time stop for us. Pictured are the fish and chips (Haddock) and the fish tacos, we were so hungry we dug in before taking all our food photos.

We made the trip to Prince Edward County on Victoria day long weekend to enjoy some wine, breweries, and gastronomy. I did my research, and this restaurant has been ranked highly by others here. We came here early around 4 pm and it was not too busy. Reservations are recommended here as they do get busy on the weekend. We were a group of 6, and we ordered a lot. 1. Calamari $16.99 2.Seafood linguine w/marinara sauce $31.99 3. Lobster tail with jumbo shrimps & scallops $57.99 4. Lobster and King crab $63.99 × 3 5. Fish tacos (3) $17.99 There are regular sides included with the meals and gourmet sides. There's an upcharge between $2 - $5. Food was served promptly. The lobster tail and King crab were delicious however it may not satisfy the biggest appetite. I would suggest pairing this dish with an appetizer or upgrading to gourmet sides. The lobster tails were gigantic, cooked perfectly melted in your mouth. Kudos to the chef, and they also sprinkle some salt when they grill the lobster tails to finish it off. Fish tacos were huge and also served on soft shell tacos. I recommend these fish tacos. Great for smaller meals if you're looking for some seafood. The service was excellent and friendly. They came by regularly to check on us. Will definitely come back and try the boathouse seafood feast for 2. This beats the big chain seafood restaurant out of the park. The only downside is that they don't serve any complimentary butter biscuits. The interior decor makes you feel like you're in a boat. Nice ambiance and great view of the harbour. Too bad the weather was rainy, so we couldn't sit on the patio. Belleville has a nice downtown area too bad the rain prevented us from enjoying a nice walk on their downtown area. The seafood here is excellent, a bit pricey for king crab. They have an extensive menu including some dishes influenced by New Orleans like creole shrimp, jambalya. The rest of the menu is comparable to other places, and there's definitely something for everyone.

Negatives - front door was filthy (bathroom and tables looked clean) - no daily specials - flies buzzing around while trying to eat Positives - service was fast and friendly - got there early, so lots of seating and parking - large portion of fish, and although a little greasy was delicious - outdoor deck with a view of the water - Artisan salad with in-house citrus dressing is amazing! When we drove by later and it was very busy. Cars were lined up down the road. I would advise getting there early if you want a close parking spot and choice of seating.

We had a great experience at the Boathouse and the service was particularly praise worthy. We made a last minute reservation on the day of, and they were very accommodating. The environment is cozy and clean and great for having a conversation. The group ordered the biscuits, fish and chips, lobster roll, soup of the day, wings, escargot, and boathouse salad. The portions were MASSIVE - this was definitely the biggest piece of fish in a fish and chips I'd ever seen. I didn't love the biscuits, they were drier than I expected and came in pairs so we had to do 3 orders. The escargot was one of my favourite dishes, it had a fantastic texture and flavor. I enjoyed the Boathouse salad for my main meal, which was also a huge portion. I did suspect the shrimp in the salad was undercooked, as I did not feel well at night, and the shrimp was quite translucent. However the taste of the salad in general was enjoyable. For dessert we tried the coconut cream pie and cheesecake, which were sizable portions and quite delicious. My meal ended up being around $40 (alcoholic drink, salad, shared apps) which is very reasonable. Overall I'd recommend the Boathouse and will be back!

It is our 4th time visiting this restaurant and it is with the visit to Belleville every time. It is worth recommending to call ahead to book a table to avoid rush hours. Last night the service and food was just fantastic and our server Stephen was super attentive.

We ordered the seafood chowder, fish and chips, fish tacos, and kids meal linguine red sauce. Meal was very delicious and sitting on the patio was very nice looking at the ducks floating by.

Our first time coming here. I Love the view and scenery. it's very calming. The food was ok but they came too fast, I didn't finish my soup and my fish and chips arrived. Service was very good by Jordan and loves our table by the water.

Great Food, and an even better view from the Patio, if your in the Quinte area on Vacation summer or winter this is a great place to stop. Dock your boat and walk on the patio and in winter there is plenty of ice skating on the inner harbour. Daria our waitress took really good care of our table.
