The food here isn’t the same anymore. The rice and beans are always hard undercooked and cold! Then the cheese quesadillas are soggy with a pound of cheese that literally smelled! I had to throw my food away because it was so bad! But more importantly, almost all of the workers there have such a bad attitude and seem miserable to be there. You ask them nicely for something and you can literally see how annoyed they are to do their jobs!! Unbelievable! Never coming back here again.

I don't eat here, I was buying food for someone who loves this place, however, with the nasty attitude of everybody working the front line, I won't be eating at this location ever. The young lady on register speaks hardly above a whisper and has no customer service. The protein picking lady is very rude and short with people as well. Had I been a secret shopper they'd fail based on customer service alone. It pays absolutely nothing to be just a little kinder to people--especially if they've done nothing but say hello. No one had on name tags, but the 3 customer facing individuals working on between 7:30-7:45PM on 7/22/23 were very nasty.

The only reason why I'm giving it two stars this time is because all the quality of the food is usually outstanding and the customer service is a three star to four Star I was very disappointed to see that my salad was super soggy and wet and half way of soup of liquid

Usually am pleasantly surprised by the cheese and meat portions of the enchiladas. Had barely any cheese on my enchiladas. Meat portion was way less than prior visits. The tortilla soup was cold!! Something has changed here and it was not impressive.

Food was good but not anymore. Overpriced and not worth it. It sucks they burn my grilled chicken tacos and have horrible customer service. They give you attitude when they mess up your order. Like who does that?! Was a frequent customer but I won’t be returning. Update: now I can’t sleep because I have food poisoning. Definitely won’t be going back.

Came in for dinner today and had to wait 20 mins to get to the front to order. Keep in mind there was only 5 people ahead of me. Of course to no surprise when I was ready to order the meat that I wanted was not available. Associates were just chit chatting away and no sense of urgency. Really disappointed that this keeps happening. Not the first time that it’s happened. Do better!

This place is overpriced, super salty and did not make their food well. Service was actually all right. Came here to try it out and got a burrito with shredded beef (because I thought the steak looked dry), rice and black beans plus red sauce on top and guac on the side. The beef was super salty, rice was still a little crispy (not fully cooked), black beans were a bit hard, and I think the sauce added even more saltiness. It’s as though no one tried the food if it’s edible before putting it out to serve. Overall, a few bites in and I quickly felt like I was doing my body as disservice. I ate my guacamole and threw my $20 burrito away.

This place is BAD! Canned enchilada sauce, like the bad one you don't buy at the store. Old dry barely edible steak that costs extra. This place makes some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had and I've been to Washington. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. I can not overstate how bad the food was here.

My online orders consistently get screwed up somehow. Either they forget my queso & chips or they forget to include the dressing with my salad. Their app doesn't provide a way to request a refund so you have to call customer service. Only way to ensure your food 100% the way you want is by going in person and ordering since they know you are watching them put your order together. The delivery driver is probably eating my queso and chips as I write this.

This is a long review so forgive me. I'll start with the positive. This place has great food! Perfect tortillas, and the Chile roast beef is my favorite. If you only care about the food stop reading and go. Now for the negative. We literally always have a problem ordering here. It's almost like the food preparer wants to make it slow, and without anything out of the ordinary. Like they HAVE to follow a script and if the request is out of the norm. It's an inconvenience... This place is dying for a revamped ordering process. They really need to have someone take your order beforehand, print the ticket and have the preparer do nothing but that. Prepare the food. Instead they have the preparer to talk to the customer, taking the order and make food which apparently is doing wayyyy too much!! It just does not work. I can't say that enough. I go here once a year because the ordering process is always such an issue it takes me about that long to calm down before I'm ready to go back in. All I ever order is a burrito and a taco with the chile roast beef and cheese. That's it! Meat and cheese. Nothing crazy, and yet it's like they're dying to get it wrong. They will sometimes guess what cheese I want and add it in without asking. Or go straight to adding lettuce and pico de Gallo again without asking. I LITERALLY TELL THEM BEFORE HAND IM GOING TO GET A BURRITO AND A TACO WITH ONLY MEAT AND CHEESE and it's still a problem. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I'm there. Like I said the food is good, the service is slow and the preparer acts almost put out if you ask for anything special even if you're asking for LESS. 5 stars for the food but this place needs to rethink the whole process. Oh and the proportions have gotten noticeably smaller since the last time we came. Still tasty though!

Food was tasty. My wife found a hair in her cheese and the operations behind the counter or suspect as hell. There’s no need for customers to see that much dirty dishes, parts, serving trays and utensils.

came here to get my sister in law food . it was my first time ever going , so didn't know what to expect . it's a similar vibe to chipotle . anyway , i was reading here text messages on what she wanted & i already got attitude from the worker even though i said sorry it's my first time here & not for me . i ordered something for myself too & was asked if i wanted any rice & / or beans , i asked my boyfriend if he wanted some since we were sharing & she closed the lid! like ma'am i haven't even said yes or no . i got their baja shrimp tacos i rate a 7/10 could use more flavor sister in law got a salad & while i was reading her messages i asked if i can get the stuff on the side & w/ attitude the worker was like everything is on the side , which was weird for me but whatever

I was treated horribly and humiliated by one of the staff members here, despite being polite and patient. I'm local to this location so I go here fairly often but I won't visit here again, especially if that staff member is working. I called corporate customer care and no one has called me back to rectify the situation. As pricey as the food had gotten here, I just don't think service is worth it anymore. I'm not going to keep paying these inflated costs to be regarded like scum on the bottom of someone's shoe...no thank you.

Used to love this place...it was empty today. I remember it always being packed with a long line. They got my order wrong. It's a good thing I checked our bags before we left. All the women working here right now seemed to have attitudes for no reason.

Food is great but service is kinda slow and super inconsistent. They mess up my order every time I order ahead, so i don't do that anymore. I love the food here, but the service is why I rarely ever go anymore.

First time trying the food here, and it was delicious. It reminded me of the way you order Chipotle. Only the food tastes better. You get bigger portions, and you don't get sick afterward. Will definitely be going back.

The beans weren’t added at the right time so it made the nachos a little messy, but they tasted amazing! Roberta came and cleaned a table for us.

I used to come here all the time and it was great. Came here tonight and me and my family will never come back, the chicken was burnt and the portion of the beans and rice was for a child. The green Chile sauce had no flavor. I hurt my tooth chewing on the meat. Warning do not step foot into this establishment.

Where to begin with this disappointment. 5 years ago the Cafe Rio in Lakewood used to have delicious food but now the food is straight Bland. I ordered a wet burrito at 11:30 on a Sunday when the store was filled with two to three people maximum. I thought I was doing myself a favor by coming in early to have the best possible freshness. That was a disappointment. The beans had no flavor, the rice had no flavor, the cheese had no flavor, the steak had no flavor, the wet sauce had no flavor. It was just a bland $17 burrito which I could have made myself in the Comforts of my own home if I understood the disappointment that I would have eating at this establishment. The other dirty secret that I noticed from working in the back of the house of restaurants myself, is that old product was being thrown on top of the new product. An example is old guacamole was slapped on top of the tray for the new guacamole to be served to me at the beginning of the day. If this place had any standards they would throw away the old product and start the day out with the new trays of food as intended. Now before management asked me to email them my receipt number and my comments about my experience, I will politely decline a free gift card in advance in order to not revisit this store ever again.

Line was a bit slow. One person walked out. Food was great though. Nachos were huge and tasty. The tortilla soup was awesome 👌 Servers were very friendly. Drink selection excellent.

The food is good, but stay away if you have options. It is vastly over-priced, and the wait is unbelievably long for a short line. The process itself is broken and inefficient; employees stand around and wait for customers to move through a process bottleneck. It's super awkward. Not sure how they stay in business. Oh, and their corporate fake responses to customers' terrible experiences, with no actual intention of improving anything, is too insulting to be funny.

The best place ever these is the best Cafe Rio. Service , food, atmosphere, everything is great. But don't be confused. There is a Cafe rio on rosecrans in Manhattan Beach . That one is the worst ever food, preparation, and service, and don't even ask the manager a question she will answer with an attitude. And food portions are so small. Just drive to this Cafe rio and you won't regret it.

It's like subway but for Mexican food. My go to is the sweet barbacoa and I always add the house dressing, even if it's not a salad. The lines may be long (especially Tuesday) but we love it! And if you dine in, 3 kids nino quesadillas are free!

Great portions and clean. Homemade tortillas gives it the 5 stars. Roberta was sweet greeted us and cleaned our table. Everyone is friendly.

The food was really good, but the service was enough for me to leave one star. The servers were very rude and did not even try to hide their attitude. The only friendly employee there was the cashier. Customers should always feel welcomed and i sure did not. Won’t be returning.

Have been here numerous times and it seems like the managers don't know how to run a restaurant. Today an online order was promised at 550pm, but when we arrived to pick up, they could give no time when the order would be ready and it was already 615pm. Staff ignored to-go customers and focused on in-person ordering line. Manager was apologizing to customers and blamed her employees, took no responsibility. This is a recurring problem with this location, they almost never complete orders on time and correctly. Customer service was no help, finally just canceled order and went somewhere else. Don't order from this location without verifying the food will actually be made!

First time here. Service is very slow. I got the shredded chicken for my toddler and it was salty af. She loves chicken but chose to stay hungry (I gave her food at home lol). The rice and beans weren’t good either. The workers weren’t rude but not nice either. The price would be fair I guess if the food was good. Also, not the restaurants fault but the customer in front of me smelled like dirty mop water and they took so long to serve him I had to back up against the wall about 10 feet away. The place didn’t seem dirty, and the food was fresh.

I really want to rate this place higher. The food is great, but they really struggle with getting people through the line. The staff is nice enough, but the process needs to improve so that they can assemble orders quicker both in person and for pickup.

This place has really gotten busy .. food is good . Pollo Asado is 🔥 .. what I can say is be prepared for very long lines . Your lucky if you get there and it’s not busy . As this is the only location out this way . If your ordering online thru the app , I would order early and wait 20 minutes or so before going to pick it up . The line for pick up was way long as well . It’s best to wait if your not in a hurry to eat . Could be that they are under staffed and don’t have enough people working to take on all the people that come here . And some customers don’t have the best attitude and that could be attributed to long waits . And make sure they got all your stuff in the bag . They’ve forgotten a few items of mine . Giving 3 stars because of the wait times and because they miss items . Otherwise food is good .

The food here is so tasty. The salad with the sweet pork barbacoa is to die for.....but oh my God, the service is way too slow for such a busy place with great food. I do not fault the workers, they are friendly and polite, but the management is never present and obviously are not training their hard working employees to be better. The only reason I leave this place is because the line is too long and the service is slow.

Service is horrible. You will not be acknowledged even if you stand in front of register. Employees here have the worst attitude. I complain with corporate and submitted a review thru medallia. Email stated management will contact me. Lol that never happened. Still have not heard anything. Avoid this location. Employees will literally look at the floor or walls just to avoid you. I order chicken enchiladas and the tortillas were cold and very dry. My horchata water looked good but just looking at the filthy beverage section it was a life decision if I should even consume it.

Today was perfect timing as it was not crowded. Service was fast and everything smelled and tasted delicious! You cannot go wrong with this place. Food is always fresh and flavorful.

My family and I love this place unfortunately this last Sunday I had to leave without my 4 grilled chicken salads just because there was no grilled chicken and this is the second time I have a bad experience they brought some grilled chicken from the back it looked cold and soggy and it didn't serve my four salads that I wanted to order isn't the food supposed to be fresh made? And the service is very poor when we walked in there was no line so I said great we'll be out of here soon but they made us wait about 5 minutes for I don't know what reason just to order, to find out there was no grilled chicken and then another 5 minutes just to pay for a burrito for my son.

I purchased a gift card for my neighbor on her birthday. Cafe Rio was very clean and the prices were great too. She loves the food and the next time I have a craving for Mexican Cusine I'll be back to try it out for myself. 👍🏾

Normally great food. But the service was completely off. Waited over 20 minutes with a line that never seemed to move. They served probably 2 people in 20 minutes and visibly seemed too disorganized to handle even a few customers. There were only two people sitting and eating at the time inside the restaurant to illustrate it wasn’t that busy.
