Terrible place. They allow a tour/management company to work out of the hostel (likely linked to the actual hostel since they have the same name). They flat out steal deposits from tenants. There are several lawsuits filed against them. Stay away at all cost. Their members are Bruno Posada, Daniel Cimino and Carolina Duque. They have a scam scheme formed targeting foreigners who are unaware of the laws in the country and take advantage of them.

I want to warn all people who want to come and spend their stays at the Rock Hostal Medellín: run away! The hostel is infested with bed bugs, and when I mention it to reception, they say they know about it but do nothing about it! the least they could do is close the establishment for a while to eradicate the problem. today I am in Costa Rica and I have surely brought some back in my backpack. They don't want to refund me, they know about it and don't fix the problem.

The food was very good, the room was average, the shower had one handle missing. The bed and pillows had plastic covers under the linen. The big problem was noise. The third night I was there, a Thursday there was a party on the roof patio the music went till 3am. Then on Friday it started at 9:30pm. I moved out on Saturday morning. I would have been there for another week, if not for the loud music at night.

To futur guests and owner of the place : please read this CAREFULLY. Unfortunately we had to leave as soon as we arrived. After traveling for 24h from Europe, we had the bad surprise to arrive in the bedroom at 1am and find hundreds of bedbugs in our beds. After talking to the reception, they just told us “we don’t understand we cleaned today, we though they were gone”. We obviously left in the middle of the night without spending one more minute in this place. I don’t doubt it is a very nice place apart from this, but the owner and people working there should understand it is very selfish and malicious to not tell the customer and futur customer of the hostel. People are actually sleeping there without knowing they will bring bedbugs to their home, and do you know how to treat this problem? Let me tell you. Sheets and clothes : put them 3 days in the fridge at -100degres and then put them in the washing machine for at least 3hours at 60 degres. Then it will MAYBE kill the bedbugs and their eggs. But they will obviously will be damaged. Mattresses, pillows, and furnitures (because yes if you have wooden furnitures, they will invade them as well) : you can’t do anything. Once they are inside, the only solution is to throw everything away and buy everything again. The major problem is not about having few bugs or getting stung, it is about how you can lose everything when BEDbugs are here. So this place should be closed, and do what is needed to welcome their futur guests without putting them in danger. The people working there probably don’t understand how bad the situation is because they are not the ones sleeping there. But with my comment, there is no benefice of the doubt anymore. Close the place, buy new furnitures. No money is worth putting people going through this. Thanks

I don't recommend you booking this hostel, eventhough it is available on hostel world and I can complete the booking, when I arrived there they said they don't have any room and it's all full.

All up a good hostel, clean, etc. However it has been targeted by scammers to steal tourists properties, and if you do stay watch out for the guy doing night shift, probably the must uncomfortable part of your day having to meet up with this guy.

This is a great hostel, located in a good spot right next to the metro station and heaps of bars/ restaurantes. The hostel itself it nice and clean has a big kitchen so if you wanna cook a feed, or bake a cake or whatever, you're in luck. The rooftop and bar are awesome, perfect place to party or preload before going out. But the best thing about the Rock hostel is the staff, everyone is super friendly and inviting, make you feel at home! Jabi the owner is a Legend and will make sure you have the best stay possible 🤘

Absolute worst Hostel if you try to catch sleep. Loud music all night until the early morning, singing, etc. Even though in a quiet area. Nice location because its near the metro but thats it. Berdsheets thinner than paper, cheapest beds possible and zero thoughtfullness about the guests.

I had such a great time in Rock Hostel in Medellin and I am so happy that I went there and not to another place. Everybody was so friendly, be it the owner Javi or the stuff like Romina, Angel, Matthias and the others from the kitchen … just everybody. It is a place where you go and you feel immediately as if you had friends here, people who remember your name and seem to care that you are having a good time. I received tipps for great tours and whenever I needed something, like finding a ground pluck for my computer, I was looked after. Every Saturday there is an amazing argentine Asado (barbecue) with loads of variety prepared by Angel and argentines are just the best when I comes to meat! :-) Everybody sits together having a good time and a drink in the bar afterwards. Don’t miss it. When people are leaving earlier, before breakfast time starts, the staff even prepares a special breakfast to make sure that they do not have to leave with the stomach empty. The dorm beds are comfortable and due to curtains you have your privacy, but enough light at the same time. And there are enough plugs and lockers for everybody too (just bring your own lock). The beds are comfortable and the location is great and in a nice and safe neighborhood called „Laureles“. It is close to the metro station „La Estacion“ where you find plenty food offers. If you want to go to this amazing city of Medellin having a good time during sightseeing: go to Rock Hostel! Thank you so much and good luck! I will certainly come back.

Good value for money. Clean,great atmosphere and vibe. Met nice people. Good to socialise and right next to Estadio Metro station and several restaurants, bars and street food places. Breakfast is included and varies every day. 24hours reception and Bar open with beer for 5k and different programs every night. Had a Bachata class, Berrpong,Karaoke night while I was here. Would stay here again

A nice hostel : super nice staff, nice atmosphere, a full equiped kitchen, and well located ! I think the common spaces could be improved, for it to be perfect :)

How say in Colombia: This place is a good, beautiful and Cheap. This place has a few Bathrooms, I waited more than an hour to take a shower

Best Hostel in Colombia, great location for good price and even better people, both the owners and the guests. I really liked the design and decoration. I enjoyed my stay until the very las minute!

Just some steps from the metro B line, they are very flexible and have nice common areas and decoration, when coming back to Medellin, I will chose this hostel for sure

I was in a top bunk bed with six other people. My bed had a cord that I could use to charge my phone at night BUT the cord did not reach the plug at the bottom of the room so I could not charge ANYTHING. The hostel needs extension cords. Also because of this my small fan did not work because it was not plugged in.

Super clean, staff is great, it's social but not to much. Prices are the best and breakfast is decent. Bathroom are kinda old but super clean

I love this hostel! The staff/volunteers are super welcoming and friendly and so are all the other guests! It's a great place to meet new people and make friends. Tv has Netflix for movie nights with others and lots of local areas to chill and hang out on rainy days, the patio is an open area. I would definitely come back and probably stay in the private room (there is only one). Great nightly rate with breakfast included and some of the friendliest people I've ever met! Breakfast for me was rice, egg and arepa with oj.

Comfortable rooms at a great location and nice atmosphere. Minor is the noise which ends at midnight. Not a big problem to me, but for other people might be.

Unique environment to lodge in a pleasure and uncomplicated trip. The best hostel ever. Wonderful bunks and comfort. Staff and people are amazing! Just have to go!

Freaking crazy hostel, but the rooms are big and there is a good atmosphere. Of course, I can't forget Javi. He is a legend! :)
