This might have been a 5 stars hotel 20 years ago, but now the place needs some serious TLC. There are cracks in the floor, the noise of other rooms travel through the walls, the bathroom falls apart, and many more details. Service is not that great, specially at the restaurant. Actually unless you are having the free breakfast do not even bother visiting the restaurant, it is expensive, and nothing outstanding. The service at dinner was terrible! The waiter was pressuring us to leave tip in cash, despite seeing us empty handed and only with the room key. Unprofessional and annoying! When placing the complaint at the front desk their answer was "we will give you a from for leaving suggestions at check out" which they conveniently forgot. Good luck finding their "beauty salon" which wont be staffed anyway. I couldn't get an answer for arranging transportation from the airport, so I had to find my own. And I could keep going. Lower your expectations, this is not a real 5 stars hotel in nowadays standards.

Well, that was a great time we had in this hotel. a hearty breakfast, slightly smelly lobby, but a large room with a huge bed and a halfway working air conditioning. The staff was very friendly and for the price everything was really in order. It's not far to the nightlife in El Poblado and when you get a little hungry in the evening, you go to McDonald's around the corner and your stomach is full and it was delicious. thank you bye.

Overall a very nice hotel. The beds are unbelievably comfortable, we slept like babies. The staff in the breakfast room was very friendly. Minus 1,5: They charged us 80.000 COP extra at the reception for additional insurances without asking for it or at least without clearly pointing it out to us non-native speakers. Minus 0,5: compared to other 5 star hotels, this one stays a bit behind. Little details were missing, e.g. the water tap could only be opened 1/4 because the mirror was in the way, there were soap and shampoo missing on the first day, etc.!

Experience was terrible during check in with the front staff, Manager was requested - who went above and beyond to resolve our concerns. Manager, Caesar turned a horrible experience to a great one. All Service Staff members at this hotel are outstanding. Have visited numerous countries, but the service I have experienced here is by far the best. Buffet Breakfast is great - Pool staff is amazing, once you get past the check in staff who are very robotic and not very accommodating -everything else is great. Hotel is centrally located in the Tourist Zone.

Rooms are beautiful first off and top floors have great views of the city. However, we encountered several problems at our visit. I booked a grand twin. The first day we arrive they send us to our room only to open the door and luggage was in there. The bellman ran downstairs and grabbed us a different room. The room was gorgeous minus the deck not being accessible because of maintenance. My friend found dried blood stains on her comforter. Our key didn’t work after dinner so I went to the desk to have them fix it and they told us “my partner gave you the wrong room. You can stay for the night but leave your luggage in the room in the morning or bring it down and we will give you a new room and move it there.” No explanation aside from that. We leave for a day trip the next morning and leave our bags packed to be moved. When we return they give us a room with one queen bed for 3 people. They offer to bring us a second bed. They roll up a cot. We paid for 2 queens and a pull out couch. I ask for a discounted rate. I paid nearly $1000 for 2 nights. The guy tells me I have to wait to talk to his manager. My friend found someone else’s hair in her unused bed. While I’m in bed, the power goes out! What a mess.

Is this hotel exceeded my expectations by far. Quality from A to Z. Everybody was friendly, Including the maids. Everybody I dealt with at the reception spoke english. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious. Is from fresh fruit to cold cuts. A large selection of warm food, Is such a scrambled eggs in sausage. The location was near a popular entertainment district.

Booked a room for 5 days here and I must say it was amazing, The View was breathtaking, staff was phenomenal. I have no complaints if I could give it a 10 star I would, the breakfast delicious. Every single staff member was so attentive. Would definitely stay again.

Horrible spartan room. No ambiance. Well at least the one I had. Front service staff seriously lacking in hospitality. Awesome location. Close to everything in The plaza other dining options beauty parlors barber shops food court parks tourist shopping banks ATM etc. Great local hotel but not quite ready for international travelers. Staff has very limited English language skills ..breakfast is fantastic. Food other wise had to much salt. Even if breakfast is free please tip your wait staff at least 10 mil pesos. The young lady Yennifer cleaning my room was awesome. I left her 10 to 20 mil pesos daily. .its about 2 to 4 dollars US guys. Please tip your servers and housekeepers. One of the bright spots at the hotel. Good luck finding an English speaking taxi driving. My Spanish is good enough but it should an option that's available to guest

We had two rooms, which they arranged so that we could be next to each other. The rooms were large, beds comfortable, the gym was well furnished, and the breakfast was exquisite with a large selection of food. We also ate a lunch and dinner in the restaurant and were very happy with everything. We spent five days there and I will return when I go back to Medellín.

My partner and I stayed at San Fernando plaza for a couple of nights after seeing some good reviews but we were not impressed. Their check-in method seems very inefficient as it takes about 20 min per person which means easily waiting in line for 20-40 minutes. Breakfast was blah, staff unfriendly, pool area was nice but you had to reserve in advance because of covid and all spaces were full for the next day by the time we checked-in at 1pm. Check-out was even worse.. long line and 6 staff members in the lobby but seemingly uninterested in helping at the front desk. Wouldn’t expect this service from a “nice” hotel in the fancy part of town. Overall don’t recommend.

A bit disappointing. There is no complimentary water, no hairdryers in the rooms, no coffee or tea maker, and just one small bottle of shampoo; if you want the conditioner, you have to buy it. The rooms have cheap decor, including the flooring. The airconditioning was making wheezing noises. Ther hotel tolerates loud music drinking parties in special rooms on certain floors. If you complain about the noise, the hotel tries to act, but it doesn't seem to have much effect. The staff is friendly and tries hard to be helpful. The pool and breakfasts are good.

We had a great stay here. From the check in we felt welcomed. The rooms are so comfortable. The beds are comfortable and pillows so we a great sleeps. All members of staff are very well trained and very attentive and friendly. Great gym and a lovely swimming pool to relax after a long day out exploring the city. Good breakfast and perfectly located. 10 minutes walk to the main square. Thanks you again!

This is not a 5 stars hotel !!! We booked this place for our wedding. Many of our guests had problems with their reservation, suddenly they were canceled for no reason, so they finally found empty rooms. The staff was very rude to my husband because he asked for a taxi and the lady left and the guy told my husband "now the taxi is your problem". The day of my wedding I was in my room with my mother, my aunt and my childhood friends, we asked room service for some glasses for a toast, and the guy who brought the glasses to our room took an envelope with 600,000 pesos, the envelope was next to the TV, that money was to pay for the external services of my wedding. The service at the front desk was disappointing and rude and that never changed in the days that followed, we were treated like we were staying for free. There were some people counting on one hand who appreciate the guests and working there. No complimentary water, coffee maker, hairdresser, NOTHING. No lotion, or other amenities. They charge you for everything.

This hotel is stuck in the 1990s when it was probably some grandiose posh hotel. It lacks basic amenities, especially for a 5*. There is no hair dryer in the room, you have to request one from reception, no dental kits (they cost extra), no cotton pads or ear buds, no conditioner or body lotion (just shampoo and body soap). When we checked in, not 1, not 2, but 4 (!) of the towels had yellow and brown stains on them, and one of the pillowcases had dried blood on it. Upon calling the reception, they just thought we wanted extra towels, but eventually sent housekeeping up to our room. Breakfast is ok, not great quality or variety. The room is large and I appreciated that the bed was big and comfy and we could sleep quite well. Overall, would recommend a more established hotel chain instead.

I was just in Medellín for a couple weeks over the holidays, and stayed at this hotel my first night in town as well as the last 2 nights. The mattress and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Service was quite good, as was the breakfast buffet. Our room the first night was on the 13 floor. The last two nights were in a similar standard room on the 11th floor. The second room was supposed to be the same, but was considerably less nice. The bathroom was smaller and the shower didn't have as good of water pressure. There were outlets and light fixtures that did not work. Finally, we ordered room service each night. On our penultimate night when I ordered "baby back" carne, it arrived just a small fillet of sliced meat, alone on a plate. No small Greek salad, not tortellini with 3 cheese sauce as described in the menu. Disappointing. On the whole, I give my experience 3 out 5 stars.

I think this hotel is officially a 4* hotel and for that, it did an excellent job. The first question we got at checkin was whether we would prefer a room on an upper floor which we took without hesitation. We did have a nice view additionally to the beautiful room. The breakfast was delicious and the buffet had a huge diversity. I didn’t find anything wrong with the food so either we were lucky or other guests unlucky. The pool was also very pleasant, but the person we absolutely adored was the piscinero with his witty humour. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars for the staff is that we had to wait quite a while until the hairdryer was delivered, but after that, we could keep it our full stay. The region of Poblado is also well situated for going out in the evening or hopping on a bus / cab to get to the city center. If we decide to come back to Medellin, this would be our first place to search a room.

Waste of time. There are other hotels in the area that are great and the staff actually care about their customers. Take your money elsewhere.

Me and my friend decided to stay here, the location for us was perfect walking distance to the main attractions 24hrs security staff Was great! We were asked to move from our from because of maintenance ( lol ) the real reason was because of the soccer team wanted to rent out the entire floor, the management (really nice guy) upgraded our room … with a upgrade like that the soccer team can take our room anytime lol …. Staying at this place reminds me of a month ago we stayed in DR ( Punta Cana ) resort! It was just amazing! Definitely planning on staying there again! PS: they do tax you for everyone that stops by to see you! The cleaning ladies were amazingly nice also! But the manager gets 4.5 stars would be 5 stars but he loses about maintenance other than that the place is a MUST to stay at!

Read the bad reviews! We picked this hotel because of the good reviews, location, and free breakfast. This is not a high end 5 star hotel. It’s very old and minimal accommodations. You have to pay for everything. I had to borrow an iron for only 2 hrs. No complimentary water. Room service takes so long to respond. When we first arrived in our room. The cleaning lady knocked and asked to clean our room. They also knock when there’s a do not disturb sign on the door. And when we put the pls clean the room she didn’t knock and opened the door while we were in bed. Breakfast looked nice but tasted horrible. It was either overcooked or undercooked. Waiter was nice at least. Main complaint was the pool. It’s only open from 12-8pm which messes up our other plans. I picked this hotel mainly for the pool and I can’t even enjoy it! The other bad reviews were right pick another expensive hotel than this one there are many others that are better in the same price range!

I had a brief stay at Hotel San Fernando Plaza, yet it was enjoyable and memorable. From check in process, to breakfast, to lovely views from my room, to the pool and pool side area, to check out process, and taxis waiting at the front door to take you about… it was a very comfortable stay. My room was a king size bed suite with a large modern bathroom. The suite is noteworthy as it keeps your bed area private behind closed doors. The large living area windows and large bedroom windows bring in an abundance of day light as well as the El Poblado view. I truly enjoyed my stay. You should come and stay here. It is located right off the main Ave, close to every thing I like in El Poblado, quick access to envigado, Itagui, Sabaneta or Laureles, Provenza, Parque Lleras etc.

This is a nice hotel. The rooms are well equipped, the bathrooms are nice. The breakfast buffet was very good except for the coffee which wasn't good despite being colombian coffee. The hotel restaurant was very expensive and not that good. For the price it would be better to go to any of the nearby restaurants. The hotel restaurant is only good if you get hungry late at night and you don't want to leave the hotel. The hotel is located on top of a shopping mall which has many restaurants some coffee shops, a pharmacy and some other business. This is very convenient. The pool was ok I guess. The spa was nice and the prices for the services (like massages) weren't that high. This I can definitely recommend.

Very disappointed with this hotel. I was disturbed many times during my stay by the staff at the hotel. The sauna/pool staff leaves early so you have no access to some of the amenities. Very inefficient front desk, check in and check out process are extremely slow. Would not recommend this hotel. There are plenty more modern and efficient hotels to stay at in Medellin.

Luxury hotel! Great location. Very clean and safe area. Plenty places to walk to. Friendly staff. Bar on site, restaurants near, swimming pool and spa on site. Rooms are big and modern. Loved everything about it. Staff was attentive and cater to your needs. I'd stay here again. If visiting the area I recommend this hotel.

Great breakfast and room, nice view on the 14, internet is constantly intermittent, hardtime communicating with desk service if you do not speak Spanish (only one girl who speak a little bit of English and I speak a little bit of Spanish but I speak French and English), would go again but will take a Spanish course before I go. Still nice hotel. Extra big bed.

I was there with some friends eating, and the food was not so good. We hade some drinks and usted the pool as we were told would be ok because we bean eating and hand having some drinks. In the end I was dubbel charged for the drinks. I went back there the following day to let them know that they changed me twice. They gave me a email address to reply to. After about two weeks after i been dubbel charged and no awnser, I went back to the hotel and talked to the hotel manager, it did not feel like he wanted to do anything with this. He told me more or less that it's not there fault even though thay swiped the card twice. And he let me know that the 500+ usd I spent In the hotel I was not aloud to use the pool. It's hotel policy and we been told wrong by the man I the reception. Well over al it's has to be 1 out of 5 for this hotel.

They play with the price and the room they published is with terrace and when become to place an order the terrace is gone. I see it in 2 different web site . This is no mistake . Por. T.v don't work, air condition poorly work or not at all. Room service took 2 hours to bring hamburger. They are just to get your money. I wouldn't be surprised if the put some fake reviews. Reading some other reviews I notice they overcharged gestes not giving the room they published. Take notice that many 5 stars reviews are surprisingly short and quite the same. They are not honest people

Scam! Do not book with them. I paid by credit card. Did not receive any information after the purchase went through. No confirmation was ever sent. I tried calling them as well as emailing them on multiple occasions. No response was ever sent back, nor could I reach them by phone. Therefore; not knowing if I had a reservation, I decided not to travel to their hotel. A month later, my credit card was billed. Do not take the risk!

We stayed here for a week in late March 2022 and had a very pleasant stay. The location is fantastic, great walkability to 2 large malls and numerous great restaurants. The rooms were great and nice variety served for breakfast each day. The service at the lobby bar was poor, but that would be my only complaint.

  • 1/5 Romarico P. 1 year ago on Google
This is not a 5 star hotel! My colleagues and I went to a company event, we booked 9 rooms, we stayed there for 7 nights and as one day the service at the reception was disappointing and rude and that never changed in the following days, we were treated as if we were staying for free. The service/ management is a complete mess and a nightmare if you are not Colombian and tried to pay with a foreign credit card, the system is always falling so they don't register your booking correctly. It is an ancient building and the amenities are not from a 5 stars hotel, lack maintenance, and are cleanest. The only good thing is the restaurant the food is fantastic and the service there is waaay better than in the rest of the hotel.

The room has everything you would expect from a high end hotel. The staff is friendly and attentive. We had one incident where the ceiling started leaking water... It was something to do with the airconditioning condenser. They came and fixed the issue and cleaned the water. Overall, I have no complaints. Breakfast had plenty of options and was served for a long time. There is 24/7 room service available if you get hungry!

  • 3/5 Johannes M. 1 year ago on Google
good location next to a plaza with many cheap lunch options, quiet if you get a room facing the pool, doors not soundproof though, you might hear neighbors.. heavenly beds, good housekeeping, big pool. cons: staff never smiling, reception not very competent and bad english, horrible breakfast staff, pool barman unfriendly> never smiling or asking if you want to drink something, many noisy families at the pool, poor gym and spa

Thank you so much to Juan Manuel for getting me a really great room!!!!! I really enjoyed my stay at your hotel. The breakfast could be later than 10am. Loved the Pool 🏊‍♀️
