Sheelavantha Kere or Sheelavantha Lake - 20 Acres area : Opening Timings- 05:30 to 10:00hrs. and 16:30 to 19:00hrs. A very quite and peaceful place for the people who love the nature and calmness. The place is very neat & clean. Really a good place for walking and jogging. There is a small play area for kids also. The lake is beautiful and has relatively best track(compared with sourrounding lakes) for walking/running. One round is 1.25 kms, around 1650 steps. It is very well maintained and lot of trees / plants planted here. Lot of colourful flowers. Lake water is in good condition, there are many small and big fishes in this lake. The community along with United Way of Bengaluru, the local chapter of an international charity, United Way Worldwide, is forming a trust and plans to bring corporate volunteers to the lake to initiate rejuvenation efforts. Kudos to their effort. Within the lake area - some stretches stink and cleanliness near the benches can be improved. There are two gates - few two/four wheeler parking slots can be managed in front of the Old Age Home.

Sad thing about Bangalore lakes is that the storm water drains has turned into sewage lines and they empty into the lakes. The drains into Sheelavantha Kere is no exception and there are no wet lands or STP for the lake to provide sewage filteration. Consequently the lake is filthy green and pretty polluted. However the gardens and walkways around the lake is very well maintained. It is good place to get your daily dose of morning/evening sunlight and the jogs/walks. Hoping the sewage flow into the lake stops someday...

Very nice place for walkers and bird watchers. Pleasant without any sounds and pollution. Muddy road without cement path helps to avoid leg pains for walking. It has a small park for kids to get entertained as well.

Really a good green place. Walking area is very nice and filled with greenery. Lake adds to the beauty of this place. Kids play is good, but it must be maintained and developed a bit more. Variety of flowers and birds are visible here.

A lovely serene place for an evening stroll. Was a bit disappointed today after visiting after a 6 months gap. There were areas which were quite smelly along the walking track. The water was green and even though the track was clean there was sprinkling of garbage in places. But still worth a visit. Takes about 20 mins for a complete round on the well laid compacted mud track.

Great place to run except the few stretches where the gravels have come out and becomes difficult for runners. Overall a good 1.25km stretch for runs. Has kids play area too.
