As a Beppu resident, one of my favorite things to do is enjoy lunch and onsen here. The onsen was recently remodeled from 10/2022 to 5/2023 and just reopened in June. RENEWAL CAMPAIGN TIL JUNE 25, 2023 ONLY: Pay for lunch and enjoy the ground floor onsen for FREE. Or pay 1,500 for JUST ONSEN. From July, only onsen will cost 2,500yen and lunch option will require additional 1,000yen for the onsen use. There are 4 restaurants to choose from. I have visited Eitaro (good for seafood) and Kunitake (more Western style with some nice daily pastas). The new onsen provides lockers and towels! The showers are split into more private cubicles and when you get dressed there are nice stations set up with hair dryers and lotions. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are included in the showers with higher, more comfortable stools than before, and one normal size chair for guests that might struggle stooping down. There is an infrared sauna with a clear window overlooking the sea, as well as a big bath inside (with view), and a cold bath with salt in it. Sadly only the cold bath has the salt, a change from the former system. However, the outdoor baths have been widened into one big bath with an infinity edge. AMAZING VIEW. There are also lounge chairs to lay down on. Another new addition is a jacuzzi. Push the button before you get in. Lasts for 10minutes. It's a little slippery inside so be careful. Also included in onsendo, so if you are collecting 88 stamps to become an onsen meijin (hot springs master) make sure to ask the attendant for a stamp before you go in! The waters are not as hot as other Beppu hot springs in my opinion. One of my top 5 favorite Beppu onsen. That view can't be beat... although you may wanna stay aware if any boats come through the bay =)

We got a sea view suite near the top floor in the middle building. The view is great. The private bath is a bit small, barely big enough for 2 people. The water is hot though, so watch out and don't burn yourself. There is no sea view from the public bath on the top floor, which is quite surprising, actually. Let's see what will happen to the other public bath on the 1/F once the renovation is done at the end of May 2023.

The best hotel we visited during our trip in Japan. The room is spaciously clean with private onsen. The hotel also have many restaurants to suit your appetite. The staffs were all very nice, I made some mistake with my booking but they handled it very professionally. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here.

Very nice place with new building. Convincing price with air bath in the room. However, too much modernised palce cannot show japanese traditional flavour. Dinner and breakfast also great. Near kfc, starbucks, 7/11. But difficult to reach other place. Without car, only stay in hotel is best idea for paying high price with air bath tube. Strongly suggest resort hotelin Beppu.

Awesome room with fantastic Sea view! Loved the Hot Spring attached to the bathroom with a wooden deck overlooking the sea. It was incredible to have a hot bath as you just got up out of bed jumping into steaming water as the sun was rising what an experience!

One of the best luxury stays in Kyushu. Lovely room with private Onsen. Large and spacious for our group of 3 - extra bed was done by converting the sofa by the window into a large bed. Clean and modern aesthetic of the hotel lobby and rooms. Gorgeously decorated room with wooden floors and a modern bathroom. The toilet was separate and had its own sink. Large walk-in closet with room to spare for 3 large suitcases. Small kitchenette, well-stocked with drinkware & clean kettle. The private Onsen was adjacent to bathroom with incredible view of Beppu Bay. Housekeeping was excellent. Lots of bins in the room. An abundance of footwear provided - Geta for use around hotel facilities, slippers for use inside the room, separate slippers for use on the balcony. Mattresses were comfortable. Location good in the area of Beppu. Staff were polite and friendly, very helpful - especially the gentlemen in the carpark who would help direct our car and park it as well. Welcome drink in the lobby was appreciated. Hotel was made of 3 buildings. Went to the Umi building for seafood dinner at Eitaro (no need to go outside, buildings interconnected). Staff at that restaurant was polite and efficient. Breakfast had a good selection of both Western and Japanese foods. Only downside was that the gym required staff to take you with a little golf cart Overall an excellent stay

Service was good. You get your own onsen in the room. Beautiful sea view. Worth staying if you go to beppu.

Lovely spot with wonderful view at reception. A cute little bar. Good local breakfast mostly Japanese style dishes. The room is a bit dated and beddings are not good quality for the cost of 1000 US per night. In general you can get a nice Onsen experience with some restful downtime.

The sea view is superb. Staff is really helpful - there are sufficient number of staff working at the Front Desk to help all residents, with pretty few of English speaking staff. The private bath inside the room is super nice, can enjoy bit of privacy with hot bath ( and adjustable temperature) with nice view. They will also tell you the sunrise time in advance so you can wake and enjoy it at your balcony. Japanese style room is super comfy. Public onsen is really good too.

We visited for one night. Check in procedure was ok, and room was spacious and beautiful. However dinner came really slowly and the taste was not that nice. The breakfast was worse. If it is 5star, there should be plenty choice of meal but even 3star hotels has more choice and more delicious. The personnel were international, but foreign workers are not trained well as a 5star hotel personnel. As a result, it definitely was not worth to pay 300eur/pp for this stay. Very disappointed.

A pleasant stay here. The public bath and private bath are both good! I like the public bath on the G/F more, which can oversee the beautiful ocean, but there are quite a lot of cockroaches like creatures there. The public bath on the top floor was good too, no cockroaches, but is further away from the sea. The room is very big and clean. I love the balcony, you're like surrounded by the ocean. You can enjoy the sunset there, or simply sit there and chill.

I recently stayed at AMANE RESORT SEIKAI in Beppu, Japan and I must say, it was a truly superb experience. I stayed in a room type Q with an in-room onsen and full seaview that left me breathless. The room was spacious, new, and came with great amenities including shampoo and conditioner that were very moisturizing. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the overall attention to detail in the room was exceptional. The resort's highlight is definitely the in-room onsen with its full seaview that provided a unique and peaceful experience. The resort offers the best of Japanese hospitality, ensuring that every detail was taken care of to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The resort may be expensive but it is worth every penny. I highly recommend AMANE RESORT SEIKAI to anyone looking for a luxurious stay in Beppu, Japan. It is truly an unforgettable experience that I will always cherish.

Big hotel room with stunning seaview! Some good things of the hotel that I like: 1. Room is very spacious, can be separated into bedroom, living room and kitchen areas 2. Seaview is stunning. You can watch sunrise on your bed! 3. Private onsen in your room (although the size is just for one person) 4. Hotel bed is very comfy and I had a very good sleep

Hands down the best Japanese hotel we have stayed in so far. Great customer service. Very welcoming. Loved our kimono outfits we got to eldest around the hotel. Our room was clean and roomy to my surprise. I loved our very own natural spring hot bath. We would definitely stay here again. The bed however was a little too hard for me.

No public onsen for people with tattoos. This information is not listed on their website. The English on their check in brochure says "If you had wrote the tattoos in the body please don't enter the onsen". So technically, by their explanation in English if you have tattoos ON THE OUTSIDE of your body and not the inside, maybe you can try to break that rule hahaha. The location is a bit out of the way for travelers on foot but the private onsen inside is very nice. The hotel room was very nice as was the staff. My friend and I had questions about how best to get to another town by train and the front desk printed some train times and gave advice. They even wrote the sunrise time for us! If I were to go back it would be the in room onsen and to watch the beautiful sunrise over the bay. Great in suite coffee as well. Softest beds I've slept in, in Japan.

Room and private hot spring are clean and very nice. Hotel guests can take a short train ride to get there from Beppu train station. It is about 1600 to 1800 yen by taxi. The public bath on the 1st floor are big and clean. But few people did not wash themselves to walk into the bath - not good. I wish they can offer more veggie dishes for breakfast & dinner. Too much protein. Massage on 1st floor are good & skillful.

Fantastic sea views. Huge rooms, not just by Japanese standards. Fantastic in-room onsen. Food and service all top notch. Public onsen on the roof was somewhat disappointing with no real views, so be aware if you like public onsen.

A resort hotel with a very nice view and private onsen bath. Rooms were facing seaside and one can see the sunrise every morning (subject to weather conditions). The private onsen was great and we made good use of it. The room was well designed as the sleeping area was not in front of the windows, but still get a bit of sun should you prefer. The pantry has a door and can be hidden from sight; I thought that was a great design. The washroom was separate to the shower area and is typical of larger Japanese rooms. The sink in the washroom was very small, and was somewhat impractical. We used the pantry basin more than the washroom basin. We didn't try any of the public onsen so couldn't comment on that. We did however try both restaurants which had a very similar style food. If you ordered the course, they come with enough food to make you full. If you decide on the a la cart menu, it is very limited and both restaurants literally served the same a la cart menu. A bit disappointed with the restaurant. The bar was small but cosy. Drinks were not cheap and on par with similar 5 star hotels. Drink selection was average but they did have a selection of fine wines, of which we didn't order. There were also cigars available for purchase. Staff was very friendly and service was very good. I found quite a number of English speaking staff which was different to what I read online. They were able to accommodate us and explain to us the various services and facilities. Check out was a big reminder to a commercial oriented hotel. We asked for a one hour late heck out, and was told that this would cost 2750yen per room for the hour. Our train for Hakata was at 2pm and most other hotels would have accommodated that free of charge. We stayed here for 3 nights x 2 rooms, spent money at their bar and also restaurants. Seemed like a small favor to request for. Thus a 4 star. Pros - Great view with sunrise viewing. Various onsen to choose from, including a private in room onsen. Lots of on duty staff, quite a few speaks good English. Breakfast had good selection but just average. Close to various Jigoku sites and bus was just across the street. Room was well designed and was comfortable Cons - -Restaurants were a bit disappointing. Lacking choice and menu selection. Both restaurants were so similar, and there is practically nothing nearby as alternative choices. -commercial oriented hotel were everything is about money. -they cheaped out on TV channels. Nothing in English. Everything said please subscribe; somewhat cheap for an international hotel. -nothing nearby, best to have a car to have better choice for food or entertainment. -not a cheap hotel

Stayed here for two nights, it was amazing. Room was huge, and we had a private onsen that overlooks the sea. Everything was so clean and well-organised (I’m very particular about this!). I don’t often enjoy hotel stays, but I had a really good experience here.

Excellent and relaxing hotel. Staff is super helpful and the views from the rooms are great. It awesome having a private onsen in your room with an ocean view. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel which is very convenient also. You get a free welcome drink and 2 free highballs in the room :)
