A very interesting museum, very suitable for kids from 8-12 or even older. There is a ferry tour to join, and also a real auction. Very educational place for kids and adults. There are several different languages for the audio guide, too.

Fantastic must go see museum! Very accessible. Museum dog on location. Many displays are lowered so both kids and wheelchair users can enjoy. The boat tour is accessible and has 3 wheelchair places available. Stairs are marked (not all but museum will improve). 2 excellent accessible toilets. Friendly staff. Outstanding day out, worth a trip if you want a quiet day. Cafetaria has a great menu, very good food!

This delightful open-air museum is a must for those who seek a day out in the open. You have to experience the fresh produce auction where you can wager the best price for your vegetables. We enjoyed a boat ride out in the neighbouring waters in glorious spring weather. The beautiful preserved boats are showstoppers in their own right. This is a perfect day out for a family.

Undoubtedly, this is the most stunning museum I've encountered in the Netherlands. What sets it apart is that the admission includes a delightful boat ride around the surrounding islands, adding an extra layer of charm to the experience. A real highlight here is the Dutch auction for vegetables, which offers an engaging and enjoyable activity for the whole family. It's a wonderful way to immerse yourself in Dutch culture and make the most of your visit.

High potential place and most likely really appreciated by locals (boat tour and auction commented). Unfortunately for foreigners information level is quite low (both amount and quality).

Fabulous visit to this museum, a lot to see and here about how things were done in the past, bidding and buying produce was a very fun thing at the auction house, we enjoyed eating the carrots and Strawberries. Our guide named Dick was a great addition, so knowledgeable about the area. Would love to do again at some point.

(Translated by Google) Enjoyed together with our boys (3 and 8 years)! Versatile and interactive. Wonderful to buy real fruit and vegetables at the auction as a "trader" and very nice to be taken on a cruise through the thousand islands by the son of a grower. Moreover, the most Corona proof museum we have been to so far. Arranged down to the last detail without affecting the visitor experience! Hats off!

(Translated by Google) Auction is fun, educational and interactive. Everyone can participate, including children. Nice fruit garden to relax. A boat through the country of the 1000 islands is also worthwhile, preferably with a self-rented sloop.

(Translated by Google) It is a very nice place, but they no longer have the Broekemerbol (dough with whipped cream). We had to ask for it specially and then we got it. But unfortunately no longer common in the range. Very unfortunate !! Heeel erg jammer!!

We were pleasantly surprised that the public car park next to the museum was free! The staff is very friendly and there was no problem with us not speaking Dutch. The ticket includes a boat trip and an auction house experience, nicely timed for a coffee in between. The boat trip was fabulous and the guide let me steer the boat for some minutes. Awesome!! The auction experience was huge fun, bidding for fruit & vegetables. We walked around the two animal islands and enjoyed stroking the goats. Highly recommended!!

Beautiful place to visit. I cam here with my grandfather who was born and raised in the 50-60s in Broek op langedijk. Not only was it a very nostalgic moment for him, i was also mesmerized by the stories he told and the things i learned. This museum just embodies my grand father's childhood as he used to sell his crops at this very auction on his little boat when he was younger. How times have changed!

I have seen 50+ museums in the Netherlands so I thought not much can surprise me. I was wrong. BroekerVeiling was very new and original. We've learned a lot, had lots of fun and we plan to come back - this time with the audio-tour to learn even more. Make sure to take the boat trip and especially to do the auction - it is the most exciting thing :) Highly recommended!

  • 5/5 Claudia S. 8 months ago on Google

(Translated by Google) On Sunday we visited the Broekerveiling as a family outing. We had a really fantastic day there, despite all the well-regulated corona rules there. We started with coffee and cake. We have 2 people in the family with a serious gluten allergy and that was really taken into account with the pastry. The local bakery had delivered very good tasting gluten-free pastries that went well and we experience that differently. Very well done. After coffee, a very inspiring tour of the building, grounds and history, during which we could also ask a lot of questions. We were delivered to the boat by the tour guide and we sailed with the cheerfully telling captain along dozens of islands, which was very interesting. It is a pity that a neighbor of the museum thinks it necessary to put up signs in the garden that the auction's tour boat “smells and is environmentally polluting”. How childish and small can you be. Who was there before, the neighbor or the auction? After the cruise we were invited for lunch. Nice soup, hot croquette on bread and some West Frisian delicacies. Very well and again we thought about our gluten allergy persons. Just a really nice lunch, maybe not quite enough for very bigger eaters, but for our group it was good and everything was clean! For the little ones there is also a slide inside and some child-friendly old-fashioned games. So they also got their money's worth. Then we went to the real auction building with the clock. Would this be the highlight? There we were surprised by a few nice girls in authentic costumes, who explained how things went and then the real auction started with bags of fruit and vegetables. The ladies really made a party of it. They acted or life depended on it. Fooled the visitors in a fun way and sold the trade with a lot of jokes and fun. Everyone had a blast and yes, it really was the highlight of the day. Just a lot of fun and recommended for everyone. Everything in perfect order. Thanks. Alles perfect in orde. Bedankt.

(Translated by Google) Super fun to do the auction and cruise. Furthermore, a nice interesting audio tour included in the entrance price. Enthusiastic employees / volunteers who tell their story. Was quiet today. Very unfortunate for the museum because it deserves more visitors. Corona proof. Is also a nice daytime activity for a wet day. Most of the museum grounds are covered, but dress warmly because it is built above water and can get a bit cold. Was rustig vandaag. Is corona proof ingericht.

Interesting museum showing the history of the floating auction with a real auction you can bid on. You also can take an included boat trip.
