I would give this place zero stars if possible. Took my money on Sunday night -- was completely empty. Maybe five people? Went back Monday and weird old Nazi looking guy says "Private party." I said, "You're not open?" He says, "we're not open for you now or ever." Smirks. Waves his hands at me. Took my money on Sunday -- but disrespect me on Monday? I will never go back. Berlin as a whole has a weird, hostile, hyper-macho vibe and if you want to meet fun local men, go somewhere else. Copenhagen, for example -- SLM is great. Or Warsaw or Krakow. Or Prague. German gay men are weirdly aggressive and hostile -- maybe not all of them. But a lot of them. I never plan to go back here. I'll spend my money where I'm welcome and treated nicely. That's not Tom's Bar -- and it's not really Berlin either.

Visited this place for the first time, the most races gay bar i have ever seen. The attitude I got from the security and a worker there, I was not even allowed in. And not even an explanation why. I have a valid covid 19 pass, and a corona test. I know it was because of the colour of my skin. But its ok you all should put up a sigh say no blacks allowed. I think it will make it easy.

I'm not sure why this place has such poor reviews, I visited three times over a long weekend and really enjoyed the place. There's a dark room downstairs and a smoking room with foosball. Drinks are OK and I never waited long for service from one of the friendly team.

Went here twice when in Berlin and had a great time. Upstairs was good chatted with some great people. Drinks are fair and in all a great experience. However the pick pockets are rife here and management know. Why do they insist on cash only? When they know it’s a problem. If people could pay with cards it takes the incentive away form thieves. I even had a guy try to take my watch off my wrist.

04.11.23 / 23:30 Uhr.

Non inclusive space. The gate keeper informed me and my friend that the rules of this bar are that this is for purely men, no trans persons allowed. Such a shame we walk the pride to shout inclusion when there isn't in our community itself.

The worst service in a long time... exaggerated prices for the lousy service, they don't know how to make drinks, they don't measure the drinks correctly, unfriendly waiters... I was very disappointed.

So sad. If u wanna know, how to rock down a former hot place :there it is! stupid arrogant service, music from far behind the 90s and dreamland prices {who s the f**k payes 4.40 E for a beer in Berlin??!} makes it interesting for very desperate guests only. Visitor, if u read this Letters. go ahead to Hafen next door, where u find gay Berlin to talk about

Misogynistic and transphobic, disgraceful approach by the doorman. For the sake of our community; if you are a gay bar train all your staff to communicate your door policy in respectful manners. Such a shame.

Well maybe they have a problem with people who head right to the darkroom and stay there without buying a drink, but kicking out long-standing, money-spending, respectful customers, just because of a literal 30 second delay between going through the door and buying a drink, is not a way to solve this problem.

Nice place with young hot guys, nice music, busy backroom. I don't understand the comments about the doorman, he's actually a nice guy. At the moment you need to check-in with the Luca app in order to enter, so what? It's a clear rule, if you don't want to do it, just don't try and come in.

Despite the mix bag of reviews we didn’t have any problems here at all. Infact the staff were great, polite and good to chat too. Still don’t understand how they are allowed to smoke inside though…? Anyway, drinks very cheap! Didn’t realise it was happy hour, so we paid €10 for 4 drinks! RESULT!! We will defo be back 🕺🥃🍹🍷🍺🍾😊

I really enjoyed the place, my favourite so far. Very nice music. The French bartender is very careful while making drinks and so friendly. Very helpful guy if you are visiting for first time, he suggested nice places depending on what you looking for. The crowd was friendly. On Mondays there is a offer buy one get one free on drinks.

The bartender was nice but INCREDIBLY slow, high as a kite. Simple drinks took at least 5 minutes to make, while talking to coworkers and friends, ignoring everyone, struggling with soda bottle caps, or just leaving the bar. With few guests, waiting time was 20+ minutes, people were losing patience and just leaving.

Very busy on a Friday night. Mixed folks, many guys are handsome. The bar upstairs is nice. Dark areas are uncomfortable. I've seen better ones. Staff is friendly. I didn't notice anything like a door policy. No bouncer at the door. I just went in. Easy. A small beer is 3.80 EUR.

This venue caters to a primarily LGBTQ+ clientele, creating a unique and inclusive atmosphere. While it didn't stand out in any exceptional way, the drinks were reasonably priced, and the people were friendly. It's worth noting that they offer a dark room for those seeking a more intimate experience.

I visited it in theory in a good hour, but there was almost no one... They didn't charge me for cover, just consume something (that's fine). it was midweek. there was no event. Simple bar with a dark room in the background. neither good nor bad place.

Was there on Monday, July 27th, 2020. The bartenders were great and the atmosphere was interesting. Everything was going well until I went to the toilet. There were several guys smoking amphetamines in the toilet stalls, at one point one guy even offered me some. I don't know if that's a common occurrence but maybe something should be done about it. Im from out of town and I was not expecting anything like that to happen. It was very obvious what was going on in the toilets, and at least 6 guys were part of it.

One star because the dark room opens too late. Do you wait for people to leave to open? Drink a bit expensive compared to prices around. A remodel wouldn't hurt.

Very strange reading to other comments We had a great time in Tom's (we went there twice during our stay) must say we are both white Caucasian men below 40 ... Maybe that's the reason. We don't speak German (even though we understand it, being Belgian) Nope, my conclusion: great place!

We went a couple of times in Toms and yesterday was very unpleasant. We arrived and we really need to go the bathroom and a guy pursued us with a lantern in our faces and told us we need first to buy something in the bar. Like we were going to hang our coats and all of this we were just needed to go the bathroom first. Sorry for us it was very rude and unnecessary!

The basement is still closed and there is hardly any room to cruise on the ground floor. If you are going mainly for that, then it is not of much use to be honest.

One of the oldest gay bars in Berlin, very mixed crowds, basement is dark rooms for cruising. But be careful of pocket picker while you are searching for fun there

This is the place to be! The bartender, Andrea, made us feel so good. The drinks were pouring and the rooms are rooming. Pre-game and the after party. It’s giving!

The Barman at the bar by the entrance (00:45 on the 08.08.23) had a tantrum because my friend was trying to explain that there is a 2-4-1 offer on Mondays — something I didn't know. The Barman said that he could have told me himself, insinuating that we were somehow hindering him from doing his job. He didn't, and he wasn't doing a good job. He literally waited 10 seconds, which was the duration of my conversation with my friend, before he decided to take my drink away and asked me to leave, having a fit. I ignored him and tried to go further in to a different bar section but the guy from the wardrobe was sent to escort me out, because "the barman said so". The wardrobe guy was also strangely apologetic, as if this happens often. Get your house in order. Rudest barman, for no reason. If he can't handle a nightshift, don't give him any. Especially not as the face of the establishment. What a disappointment, and what a sad excuse for a barman. If he was having a bad day, that's unfortunate, but ultimately not my fault. Get your house in order...

Should have read the reviews before… I was about to just look for my friend downstairs before getting a drink when the bouncer tapped me to tell me I must buy a drink before going downstairs. Which means he followed me into the interior of the bar, waited for me to finish using the bathroom and then to look downstairs before stopping me.. but he didn’t do the same to my white husband who walked in with me and headed straight downstairs… Or the other white gays who I watched come in after me and go straight to the dark room. You draw your own conclusions… Other than that it’s an alright bar upstairs. Was there drinking the night before but the dark room is sketchy and was kind of a bust.

Die Mitarbeiter sind meistens mit anderen Dingen beschäftigt als mit der eigentlichen Arbeit. Die Getränke Preise sind echt übertrieben (0,2L Cola 4,50€).

All in all a good day cruising bar. It is chill enough upstairs to chat with friends, get to know people without sexual intent and enjoy a drink. Prices are okay considering they don't charge a cover. The darkrooms are a bit untidy but I assume it's part of the flair. Warnings of pickpocketing are a bit intimidating. The sexual encounters are good and there's a diverse public, which is nice.
