The room was small, but we knew that on beforehand. The lay-out is very efficient. It works well! The beds were comfy and the bathroom nice and clean. The only actual downside was the ventilation system which didn't work. Sleeping with the window open is not possible because of street noise so the room got warm at night. The windows are very good by the way. With the windows closed you don't hear any noise from outside. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the beers are very good. Breakfast was also good.

I was in the hotel probably for the 10th time. This time I was disappointed with the cleanliness. The bathroom was superficially cleaned. there was an old ford everywhere that had not been cleaned for a long time. There was garbage on the floor. Sink clean on top and old dirt underneath. The table under the TV was sticky and not wiped. It's never been so dirty before. I stayed in room 416. Maybe it's worth checking the cleaning people. Previously, the cleaning crew did it very carefully. It was evident that this was not a one-time omission. I would like the standard to be the same as before because I would not want to change the hotel where I have been staying for several years several times a year and recommend it to my friends.

I have stayed here 4 times now. I never had a bad experience. The front desk is also so helpful and kind. I really can't complain and find this place great value. We love the room with the double bed, and 2 sets of bunks. It is perfect for my large family. Parking is easy too as they have a parking garage!

The hotel in general is good: friendly staff, good and simple breakfast, full kitchen with washing machine. I would only strongly suggest to renew the bed mattress, as they were very uncomfortable.

Great hotel, value for money. We had a room for four people and that was relatively small, smaller than expected. Service was great and the location is perfect to discover Berlin.

Great location, sharing building with a small shopping mall (Schultheiss-Quartier) but not crowded at all. We had two rooms, both were spotless clean. Tram is right in front of the hotel, taking app. 10 minutes to Berlin Central station. If you're in a car, there's a parking garage under the hotel, entrance is right next to the hotel's entrance.

A very friendly, casual and cozy place to stay in. The rooms are small (especially for a family of four) but they are very clean, neat and pretty. The service is impeccable, with extraordinary staff who's always helpful, smiling and caring. We had a great weekend thanks to the peole who work there. They do their best and always go an extra mile to make your stay unforgettable. You're amazing, Meininger people!

Excellent room, delicious breakfast, and friendly staff. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Special thank you to the reception staff who helped me when my luggage didn't arrive promptly from the airport. I would gladly return!

I had a great couple of stays in this hotel and staff are fantastic. I stayed in one of their amazing rooms (you can choose the option of having your own room even if all by yourself or with someone). Mr room was big and very clean with lots of space. Breakfast had lots of choices. I will be back again. Thank you to the Meininger team.

Living in this hostel was a great experience! I was so lucky because when I was there just one other guest attended the room while it is designed for 6 people. It is super clean. There is enough place to hang your clothes. There are 6 lockers which you can put your stuff inside to be safe but you should bring your own lock or you can simply borrow a lock from the reception for 10 Euros and once you return the lock it will be refunded into your card. You should pay everything with your card only. The room was so quiet and well designed. There is also a tv inside each room. The bed was clean but not so comfortable but it was ok for one or two nights. The staff were so friendly. The location was not that much good and it was not located near the famous areas but there is a huge Kaufland just beside the hostel that you can buy your daily needs there. In general, i totally recommend it to everyone since it is really good compared to the price you pay in Berlin. It cost 22 Euros for one night for me which is amazing!

The place was excellent for our family, we could sleep all together which made things easier. The people of the hotel was very nice and helped us in everything they could. The surroundings were the worst part, they were working on the road, although the noise was not a problem. And it was not as near of the Mitte as we thought at first place.

Stayed in this hotel back in June 2022 after a long cycling tour across Europe, and it was one of the coziest places I experienced in a while. It literally felt like home and I would definitely love to go there again but for a longer period this time. The staff are super friendly. The coffee is perfect. And they have a washing machine 😍

Probably nice if you are coming with friends but not so good for a business trip. The lobby area was nice: with a bar, table soccer, reading area... The room had an industrial modern style which I personally like but at the same time is sort of an excuse for having less comfort and less things. The table was very narrow and there was just a basic stool to sit, so working for a long time was certainly a no-go. The curtains let too much light in the room, too. Additionally, during my stay there was at least one high school trip. I would assume that since they offer big rooms with bunk beds, this is a regular thing. In one of the occasions I had to jump through a circle of drinking teenagers in the middle of the corridor to get to my room. They were not super loud but of course weren't quiet either, so falling asleep took a while. Breakfast was ok but no warm dishes.

I have traveled to 9 different countries multiple times each, and with every trip I took, i stayed at different hotels, and I can safely say that this hotel hits my top 5. It has multicultural staff with a great sense of humor. the hotel has house rules that make complete sense, which only enhances the experience. the security does checks every now and then to make sure everyone is safe and comfortable. (Of course, they don't enter your rooms without your full permission). the staff is very understanding and isn't stuck up. I would give the breakfast 7/10 it's not the best, but it's a hotel, not a restaurant. there are only 2 negative things about this hotel, which are: 1. they don't have a 1st floor it skips from the ground floor to the 2nd floor 2. the elevators look and work great, but they're weird... p.s there's a very nice rule that the security enforces heavily which is that "partying"(loud music, jumping and running around, etc) isn't allowed at night which is great for families and people who just want to sleep without being disturbed. 10/10 would visit again

This might be the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in. The rooms are basically hotel rooms but converted to have 6 beds (2 sets of bunk beds and 2 beds next to each other). Very clean and comfortable. The only downside is it feels like a hotel, where you don't really meet anyone other than the people in your room. It felt like all the other rooms were hotel rooms with families. I wish they hosted some social events so we could meet other travellers. Another thing to note is the bathroom is in the room, where the toilet and shower are behind separate doors. The sink is open to the room, so it's a bit awkward if you want to brush your teeth or blow dry your hair super early or late while your roommates are sleeping. The location was ok. Public transport wasn't as convenient as it would be if you stayed somewhere more central. I chose this place because it was more west since my main attractions for this trip were more west Berlin. There was a lot of construction in the streets outside, so all the bus stops were in different spots than what google maps indicated. I ended up missing a lot of buses because I had to go a bit further than what I originally allotted time for. That part was annoying.

The staff is very friendly and nice. The room looks the same as on the pictures, fairly enough for a 4 persons family. The breakfast is okay, we stayed 5 nights and it wasn’t boring. The location is also good.

Had to pay a very abusive prize for late check in… but personnel was very friendly and warm (thank u) . It’s not their fault this abussive policy. very crowded breakfast ,like a summer camp. The room was ok and had good rest, comfortable bed . Would come back

A good hotel for a short stay in Berlin. Our goal was to see Berlin's famous places, so we didn't have high expectations for the hotel. It is important to get a good night's sleep and a good breakfast. I and my family were satisfied.

As a family we stayed for 2 nights at the Meininger Tiergarten, all in one room. Beds were very comfortable. Room had a great big window and we could open it for fresh air. Room and bathroom were small, not much space to move around in. Metal coat hangers very noisy and there's not enough of them. Little shelf space in the bathroom. However, great location (not really Tiergarten, more Moabit) with good restaurants nearby and underground station too.

Good location, easy access to the city, direct access to public parking from the hotel (was a plus we were not expecting). Public space nicely designed and modern, with an industrial touch (also replicated in the rooms, but in a brutal way). Prior to arrival, we received information about what to do in Berlin, which was helpful. Breakfast is ok for the money (same every day though), but we missed the omelet (only hard boiled eggs available) or some French bakery and especially a decent cup of coffee (available at the hotel bar with extra cost). We stayed in 2 quadruple rooms (we booked one double room and one quadruple for 6 adults in total, but we were proposed to exchange so that both rooms would be on the same floor. It was a mistake we realized too late and chose not to complain). The rooms have air conditioning, which must be pleasant during hot summer days. We switched it off and opened the window, as the outside temperature allowed us to do so. Seems there is also WiFi connection, but as it is not secured, we preferred using our mobile data. The beds were comfortable. The rooms are however way too small for the capacity proposed (17 sqm for 4 beds and 4 people). The circulation around the beds and "furniture" is very limited, less than the regulation, which is unacceptable for a newly designed hotel and raises a security issue in case of emergency evacuation (the open shelves for clothes, the small desk and the additional bunk beds were not designed for the room, leaving limited space to move around). The bathroom is adapted to the room: a very minimal ~3 sqm, just enough to fit a WC, a sink in front of it and a shower (comfortable size). It is equipped with 2 hair & body gel dispensers (next to sink and in the shower cabin) and a hairdryer. No toothbrush holders, not enough hangers for the towels. Definitely, the photos on the website are misleading (on purpose?) and the room surface is not available. We travelled with a dog (medium-large size), no way for him to rest in the room, without being in our way. We hurt him on several occasions with the bathroom door, which opens over the room entrance door. This to say again that the room is really small. Be aware also that there is no cleaning foreseen during your stay (for sustainability reasons), only on demand, probably with an extra fee, not mentioned on the website (read however all the info on the website; I missed this one and was very disappointed, especially that I expected the 15€ per night for the dog to be for the extra daily cleaning, as charged in some other hotels). Seems that the 75€ we paid in total for him were to clean the room afterwards. This covers a lot of cleaning. What is included as a service is emptying the trash cans and making the beds (happened only once in 5 days). The personnel was friendly, but not very helpful with the questions we raised, which were probably too specific. It would have been nice to be informed about the direct access from the hotel to the parking upon arrival (I missed that too on the hotel website), as we mentioned we were travelling by car. But we discovered it ourselves the next day. Overall it was not the experience we were hoping for for the money we paid (~2400€, for 6 persons + 1 dog for 5 nights, mid July). The rates should be adapted to the services and comfort this "hotel" offers. With what we paid, the expectations were higher. There is a lack of transparency during the booking process. I was surprised to see, when receiving the detailed invoice I requested, that the rates were varying per night from simple to double, never the same price per night per room. This created some a posteriori frustration, which could have been easily avoided if all details would have been available when booking. The rates for a double room during our 5 nights stay was between 127€/night to 230€/night, breakfast included. The quadruple room from up to 373€/night.

Modern hotel where we had a nice and clean room for thtee people. Good bathroom with all the necessary facilities. Great and tidy kitchen where you can cook your own meals and save money. Relatively cheap garage in the same building and close to multiple parts of the public transport network. Staff was effective and friendly. There wasn't much cleaning of the room during our three-night stay, however we slept until 11 every day so that is probably the reason.

Arrived late but late check in was no problem. Quad room is reasonable size, bathroom excellent, everything very clean and good quality. No problems with anything, Berlin centre is easy to walk to, lots of restaurants and shops very close to the hotel.

We found the hotel very modern and clean, with nice furniture, comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. We enjoyed the atmosphere in the lobby/bar and the 'gaming room' and library. Most of all the staff is excellent, assisting and answering questions at any time! It is located in a nice area close to communications, everything that Berlin has to offer and a broad variety of restaurants, cafés and bars. The only thing we did not really like was the breakfast, which we thought wasn't really worth the money (more hot food and vegetables would have been appreciated for the price). And in the family room there is too little space to store the luggage. All in all, however, we had a great experience staying with you!

If you do not have any problems, it is a nice hotel, the price is affordable for its quality, the location is very nice, but the beds are quite uncomfortable. But if you have any problem the hotel management do not help you to resolve it. I booked a room with 3 beds and selected non-refundable option. Then I tried to upgrade my room by paying the extra cost for the upgrade. Although the room that I wanted to book was available they denied to upgrade it. They said they denied my request because I had chosen the non-refundable option. Although I explained that I do not want any refund, instead I wanted to upgrade and willing to pay extra, the result has not changed.

We booked a family room so all four of us could sleep together. At the same time the hostel offered amenities like a well equipped guest kitchen or washing machines. A great plus for us, as we arrived in Berlin after two weeks of cycling, was the safe spot we got for storing the bikes. This is not something Meininger does by default, but we got it after a few rounds of enquiry.

The room service is kind of nonexistent, the staff also isnt very helpful. The rooms are quite dirty and super dusty. The location of the hotel is however good with quick access to the main train station. The breakfast selection is also good.

Small but ok room for a family in relatively good location. Very soft beds. Minus that we found bugs on the floor with unknown origin. Breakfast was ok but not more. Music volume of Nirvana and Weezer was very high an noisy and not appropriate for morning. I asked the personnel to turn down the volume, but it was remained. Very fast response on question via email and booking was convenient. Nice to have parking house in same building.

We were here for a few days to visit the city. We had 3 rooms: 1 for 2,1 for 3 and 1 for 4. Check in took a bit long because we had minors with us and we weren't informed before that they needed parental consent to stay. Luckily it was an easy fix by just sending a form to the parents. The rooms were nice, especially the 2 person one. The TV sadly didn't have any apps but we used the connecting app to connect our phones. The 3 and 4 person ones were nice as well just a bit too small. Rooms were cleaned every morning, new towels and blankets and the trashcan was emptied. You had to use cards to get in the hotel and rooms which gave us a feeling of security. At night there were often staff near the entrance which was also nice. The hotel is next to a mall with kaufland, a DM, H&M and many more stores. Overall a really good experience, especially for the price we paid Definitely recommend!

Very nice location, convenient parking garage under the hotel, shopping mall and park next to the hotel. Breakfast was not as great unfortunately, only made use of that one day. It's a budget hotel and you can feel that but still a very good deal.

Great hotel for a good price. For tourists who come with a car should note that there are green are in Berlin center. Also parking place near hotel is great, but not more than 2.05m height. Our buss was 1.98, and we made it :) Remote from TV did not worked.

Nice hotel if you want to explore the city. It's cheap with a great metro connection (10-15min from the centre). Rooms are clean and cozy but nothing special. Breakfast is fine but the choices are very limited, coffee was good tho.

We stayed one night there. I have no words to explain how awesome were all. The staff was so pleasant and helpful, the room so clean and the breakfast was enough to keep you up for a nice day in Berlin.. Thank you

Overall is was good. Nice room, nice breakfast and nice personell. There are some remarks: - in room 518 the bathroom smells. It's the drain I guess. - In the corners from the shower the corners were black (mold?) - the juice at breakfast was way to watery.even after I poited it iut for the personell.

Positive: - amazing location - safe and modern building - friendly and nice staff - clean room and bathroom - nice bathroom with enough utilities Negative: - I didn't notice any cleaning services during the stay. It can become uncomfortable for longer stays.

Dear all, Here is my review for my last stay from 1st. Feb 2022 to 2nd Feb 2022. Check in crew was very nice and helpful. The hotel and room with a nice design and everything clean. Breakfast was also okay. But had only 4 hours of sleep because of the very loud noise of wind in the room. Seems to come from the air condition from outside. The sound was like a hurricane and didn't stop. I guess the hotel need to repair something here. Room number was 202. Also the tv remote was missing and need to go to the counter 3 times to get a spare one. The first beer from the bar was not cold. But I got a new cold one from the crew. Still overall a okay stay for me. But with the above improvements it could be much better next time. KR Markus

Nice hotel! Everything is clean and relaxed. The chamber itself has everything it needs, but nothing special. It's just okay to sleep and not to spend your day here (but that's not necessary when you are on a trip). The breakfast is good! A lot is available. The loby itself is lovely! You can sit here and relax (drink something or play some games). This is a very nice hotel for young people or people who like to be in 'groups'. When you want something more private, this is not your hotel but i was very pleased wit this hotel! Clean, nice, close to the metro station + shops/pharmacy/center I would recommend this hotel !

Stayed here for 5 days in December and we couldn't have been happier! Our room was clean and spacious, the guest kitchen on the reception floor was very useful, we can't say enough good things about the staff who were so friendly and kind during our stay! The proximity to the subway was fantastic and made getting around the city very easy, also a bus at the stop across the park went straight into the heart of Berlin going past the hauptbahnhoff. The price of the hotel was fantastic and very affordable. We couldn't have hoped for a better experience and will return if going to Berlin again in the future!

  • 4/5 Pamela G. 1 year ago on Google
Good for what we needed it for. Room was smaller than anticipated, but our purpose was to visit the city of Berlin, not hang out in our room. College dorm like atmosphere, a lot of school travel groups. AC worked well, bathroom was smaller but manageable. Staff was kind & very helpful. Great location in the city; easy to get anywhere on a scooter or the UBahn. Suggest having more than 1 washer/dryer for the whole building; maybe 1 set per floor would be better? We were still able to do our laundry, just at odd hours. Overall a fun experience.

The hotel is at a good spot, has afforable/fair prices and the room was very nice. It wasn't to loud, the furniture and designs are stylish, the bed was perfect and it was surprisingly cool - considering the temperature outside pending between 30C and 35C.

Satisfactory if you want to explore the city and use hotel only for resting. Room clean, tiny, minimalist. Great location. When commuting by car, take in mind that this hotel is located in low emission zone, where older cars cannot enter.

  • 4/5 Martina Z. 1 year ago on Google
Overall, we had a great stay here. The location was perfect for exploring the rest of Berlin. Our room was neat and spacious enough, but the bathroom could have been equipped a bit more (with a cup for toothbrushes and a cupboard for toiletries, for instance). The staff were very friendly.

  • 4/5 Kurt & Thea M. 1 year ago on Google
Great location, mostly clean and nice spacious rooms. Was very nice to go downstairs and be in the mall. I also arrived by car and this was the most spacious parking lot I have had on my trip. Very safe for car users! My only complaint is the front desk staff seemed like they could use some customer service training. Usually we have very friendly German staff at Meininger hotels but here something was missing at the desk. One example was it took quite a while to honour my 5% discount.

Well, tiny rooms and bathrooms are a squeeze to get in. Noisy hotel with so MANY school aged groups. Very slow elevator, you should expect some real waiting time. The location is perfect and you are near so much food choices, super markets, shopping mall, and an underground station, so if you plan on going around city on a budget, this is the hotel for you.

  • 3/5 Amira Al M. 1 year ago on Google
Good hotel overall but rooms were dirty. They don’t clean your room also during the stay. We had to ask to change rooms because the first one was reeking of cigarette odor. The lift situation is also complicated, you can wait ten minutes for a lift. The receptionists were nice and friendly though. The location is great also with the metro right next to the hotel.

  • 5/5 Bilge D. 1 year ago on Google
Important notification: The hotel is in green zone and you need green sticker. You can get sticker online if your visit is planned few weeks before or TUV, DAKA vs. on that day if they are open and has stocks. My main reason to choose this hotel is the garage (currently 10 euro from 00:00-23:59) and the metro. There are some open park spots next to the hotel, 2 euro/hour (between 8-20 I assume, I forgot the time range) and free on Sundays. The hotel is very nice place to stay. Rooms are just enough. If you plan to discover the city and just rest in the room, perfect. If you plan to spend some time at the hotel room, you might want to check other options. Rooms are clean but cleaning needs some improvement. Our room was dustier than expected. Breakfast is nice and has a lot of options. People are so great and helpful. They have 24 hour open reception. They have a shared place to hang out and it was very lively at the night of our stay . I wanted to hang out but too tired to do so. The only downside of my stay is, metro station that is just in front of the hotel is currently under construction and you need to walk to another station. (~15 mins) There is nothing for Meininger to do about this, it is just a bad luck for us :(

The check-in/out with the front desk staff was excellent. Very competent people. The room was modern and for a hostel provided a lot of amenities. There was confusion for several roommates with the assigned beds in the room. Too many lights on during daytime.

Very nice hotel with a good, mixed atmosphere of families, youngsters, etc. We had a family room with a bunk bed that our kids loved. Nice facilities with a playroom area for kids, basic kitchen with washing machines, and in a very convenient location for a very reasonable price. Very satisfied!

Everything was just the way it was supposed to be, very comfortable place to spend a night. Kitchen well equipped and clean. Bathroom in the room. Room had a table with chairs which made it possible to sit and reorganise thighs without putting it on a clean bed. To the staff - there was only a little bit of mold on the bathroom floor, but the amount was super small and in the corner. The hotel is a bit far from the centre but it was not a problem for us.

The beds and mattresses were horrible. For the price you pay it is not worth it. Room service did not clean the rooms properly. The furniture and decor were cheap. I would not stay here unless I had no other choice. The Ameron across the road is 100x better and the same price.

this hotel was advertised to me as a hostel. although the room was very nice and clean, the layout was weird—1 bunk bed, two twins pushed together to make a king. it was a odd to share a room clearly intended for a family with 3 strangers. the kitchen was very small and poorly stocked, and the laundry service was one of the most expensive I’ve encountered in “hostels” ($4 per cycle). not the fault of the hotel I guess, but during my stay, there was what seemed to be an entire school of high school students. they took up the majority of the top 3 floors, where I was also staying, and spent all hours of the day and night running up and down the hallways, making literal congo lines, and getting up to all sorts of other teenage mischief. I thought it was kind of entertaining, but it was definitely the most disorderly thing I’ve ever seen in a hotel or even a hostel. all that said, the staff here were super nice, and it’s a pretty good location depending on what you’re looking to do.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights, and we both agree that this is a good, safe hotel with very friendly staff. The room was very clean and of good quality, and we were really happy with the view from the room. The hotel is located close to the tram, bus and Ubahn - so it’s really easy to get around with all sorts of transport. It’s also a big plus that the hotel is close to the main train station. There is a small mall right next to the hotel, making buying groceries/snacks/other necesseties really easy. There are also small cafes and shops close to the location. The only thing we would like to mention is the breakfast - there were several options, but we were hoping for a broader selection with more variaty, and the food being of a bit better quality. We would probably not recommend staying out too late, considering Berlin being a city with a lot of different people - but that pretty much goes for every other place too. Keep your belongings close, and you’ll be just fine! Thank you so much for the service!

Warm, friendly checking. Keeping the same warmth and friendliness throughout my stay by everyone I came into contact with. Good Continental breakfast. Clean public areas with space for games, reading and socializing. The bathroom was a wet bathroom as water while showering sprayed everywhere. This is fine if this doesn't bother you but just make sure electronics are not in bathroom while showering. I had to lay my shower towel down on the ground from the door to the sink as not to walk out with wet feet / socks. Once, my shower towel was replaced with a hand towel. Good cafés and restaurants around. There is a little, convenient shopping mall attached to the hotel. Enjoyed my stay overall.

Public areas great, check in and out very easy, breakfast good, but there could be better and fresher rolls (Brötchen) and a greater variety of bread (instead of toast bread, soft). Room was too tiny with baby bed and baby stroller. Lack of shelves and bar for the towels in the tiny bathroom. Bathroom for kids who can reach the sink on their own totally suitable but with a toddler who needs to get his hand washed too small. We saw more spacious rooms, but did not get one of those. Lack of wardrobe with doors, toddlers like to put things out of furniture so doors are a good invention (seem not to match with the industrial charme). The table/desk/shelve in the room is at the exact height of the baby bed. Due to this fact, the baby bed can't be placed in front of it and has to be situated in the passage between bathroom and wall. But the baby stroller needs to be out there as well.... Moreover the windows could be better isolated in order to quieten the noise of the street. Last point: at our first night it was too warm to sleep with 22,5° C (there was no way to cool it with the ventilation. After leaving the windows open the whole day, the second night started with 15 ° C.
