Room: overall clean but never changed our bed sheets and pillow covers during 4 days stay. The air was too dry and no humidifier in the room. The last day was horrific. The cleaning service was knocking at our door and suddenly broke into our room even though we were naked and still sleeping. Front desk: disaster👎🏻 long waiting time until we could reach to the counter; card reader was broken and shamelessly ask us to pay 300 Euro in cash regardless we have already paid by credit card in advance. The male receptionist claimed he never saw any check in pass before which I received right after online check-in on their website. They just claimed they don't know, they don't know anything. Even when we checked out, the lady at the front desk asked me if I needed the invoice. I told her"I've already got it" she couldn't even understand such a simple sentence in English. If you are not qualified for this job or if you don't like your job, don't respect your customers, you can just go back home and drink your milkshake on your own. Show some respect to your customers!!! (🤬they took over my iPhone and played it around without my permission)

I come to Berlin pretty often for work these days (every 2 months). I have tried 10 hotels now. My company is pretty strict on pricing and this hotel is a cheaper option near to the office and train station. There are better hotels I have stayed at in Berlin, but those are 5 stars and a lot more expensive. This is a good inexpensive hotel with a good location. The bar is also nice and the restaurant is good here too. I will be back for sure.

The service was awful, so many misunderstandings, some of the stuff was not polite, they required me to pay a guarantee for the room! I travel a lot and never anything like this happened before to me. (this was not mentioned anywhere). I am still waiting to get back my guarantee money. In general the Hotel, as a building, was fine and innovative. The view, the rooms, the decorations were quite good.

Check in: Their "system was down" when I arrived and consequently none of the approximate 30-40 people that were waiting to check in could get into their rooms. There was no backup or manual check in procedure, and the staff left no indication on when check in would be available. When asked, the reply was to come check back in 1-3 hours. They did offer to store luggage in the meantime, but it was still wild to see all these people just waiting around in the lobby to get into their rooms. I tried to requesting a refund or some sort of compensation (I missed a meeting at this point) and they couldn't assist. Once check in was available again they did offer a 15 euro voucher for drinks at their hotel restaurant. At least it was something. I wasn't going to write a review because I figured it was maybe just an off day for the staff / hotel. However, a few hours after check in I was in my room showering when I heard my hotel room door open (the bathroom door was also open because I was the only one in my room) and two other hotel guests walked into my room and consequently got a full view of me taking a shower as well. Recognizing that the room was occupied they left and I finished my shower, only for about 10 minutes later a second, different couple also walked into my room. Meaning that the room I was in was open to three different parties now all who had access. Thankfully I was in the room both times - all of my belongings to include wallet, passport, business phone, computer, etc were out and easily could have been taken. As I was getting dressed to go address the issue at the counter a member of the staff came up and asked my name and promised that they would correct it in their "system". I went downstairs and as I was walking by the same staff member asked for my name again and room number so that he could again, correct the issue. Not sure if the issue is systemic, due to an incompetent staff, or poor management, but overall my experience wasn't great. On a positive note, the interior of the room was good, comfortable bed, appropriate temperature, good shower, and it was relatively quiet where I was. Location is 200-300 meters from Berlin Central Station.

My 1st night review of a 3 night stay. On entering the hotel - 5 Front desk staff - 5 1st impressions of room - 4 Amenities - 0 (All this simple English man requires after a long journey is tea, no facilities available. Not even a free bottle of water) TV - 0 (remote control didn't work, and when I managed to power up, no BBC world news. Only several German channels. Admittedly, this is a silly complaint, as you don't travel to watch TV, unfortunately I'm sulking in my room because I have no tea or water. Bed - 0 ( two single beds pushed together with a single duvet each for myself and partner, and the mattress is awful) Room location - 2 (unfortunately, our room is on the 5th floor, one floor below the 6th, where they have a rooftop terrace, which was in full party mode. Although this was an issue last night, I plan to update review tomorrow as I'm going to the 6th floor myself and spoiling the better half. Now it's time to exit room and flirt with Berlin a little

Very slow front desk, rude staff. Front desk service was very slow. In addition, an incident happened at the moment of checking out on 16/09/2023 around 11 am. During the check out I only needed to pay the breakfasts and city taxes and they charged to my card also the 3 nights stay that I have already paid when I check in. I explained the front desk that I have already paid the 3 nights (846 euros) and that I only needed to pay the breakfasts and city tax (126 euros) and the man in the front desk did not understand neither review it on the computer and he abusively took my card and put it in the card sensor of the card terminal. They charged me a total of 973 euros when I only needed to pay 126 euros (breakfast and taxes) because the 3 nights stay was already paid. The front desk staff was very rude and did not apologize for the big mistake. 20 minutes later they gave me an invoice stating that apparently I will get the 846 euros refunded to my card but it will take 5 business days and again I did not even hear any apologies. Very rude people, they need to check better before charging the cards and also be more polite with their customers. Definately not coming back to this hotel in the future and not recommending it to my friends either.

Nice hotel with good rooms. Stayed in a superior room, had a nice size, and it looked clean. The hand soap smelled really nice. The floors could be more clean though. The interior looked new and modern, nice lighting, that’s a plus. Would be perfect if there were a kettle. The fridge didn’t work, unfortunately. But other than that, I would recommend.

Rooms very clean. Comfortable beds. All the staff very helpful and polite. The team supporting the restaurant were particularly welcoming. They gave great advice and support with my dietary needs(coeliac) always a genuinely warm welcome. Checked with kitchen team to reassure me I could eat with confidence. I can't thank them enough for their kindness, professionalism and attention to detail. The food was delicious too.

The service staff have terrible attitudes. I was overcharged at check in, and was told to email the reservation department to resolve it - and they have been really slow to respond. I had to call twice to get an ironing board and a kettle to my room, and it took all day to get them. WiFi is also terrible. And don't waste your money on their breakfast.

Slept terrible! The bed was so hard I could just as easily have slept on the floor. The pillows were very thin! My back hurts after the stay and i came home more tired than before the trip! Bedrooms were veeeeeery small! The staff was however nice and the lobby looked nice.

Beautiful hotel lobby and bar, I’m so pleased I booked to stay here. The room is quite basic but nonetheless it was warm and comfortable and the shower is amazing. They provide nice products for showering and the staff were super helpful and friendly. The location has been super helpful as it’s right beside the Grand Berlin Station so getting around has been great.

I can not recommend this gem of a hotel enough. Great location; across the street from S & U Hauptbahnhof. Amazing supermarket just down the street with a cafe. Good coffee. The hotel: lovely interior, chill out areas, two bars, one of which is a rooftop bar. Rooms of a good standard and the shower is amazing. The best pressure and the complementary products smell divine. The staff are also super friendly and attentive. Without paying late checkout, they will keep a hold of your bags in a locked room.

This three star hotel successfully delivers a chic and modern ambience, so upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s the exact definition of affordable luxury. At check-in I was informed that the economy room I booked is their smallest room. That wasn’t a big deal. I knowingly booked a simple room since it was just for me. Well, I was unpleasantly surprised at how small it actually is. There’s no separation between the bed and shower. A tiny writing desk, mini bar, and space for hanging clothes were among some of the room’s conveniences. But get this, for such a tiny room, they decided a large queen sized bed was appropriate. Although this bed was comfy, it’s also the obstacle between the door to the other side of the room (which has a nice view of the terrace). Depending on your level of mobility, you could crawl on or walk over the bed to get to that window. If I’m not painting a good enough picture yet, maybe this will be a good visual. My medium sized luggage took up approximately half of the walking/standing space. That said, the most time in the room was spent on sleeping. Despite all this, the room was clean and they have lovely bath products. The hand wash was my favorite; it’s a mild, soft scrub with a soft woodsy, herbal scent. Overall, I was satisfied with the hotel and would consider returning. Just gotta keep in mind to book a larger room.

Good location, directly across the street from the main train hub. The area itself is rather bland, but a few blocks through and past the station offers good food options. Rooms were spacious (for Europe) and clean. The front desk were gracious and helpful. Would stay here again. Oh, and the price was right!

This place has absolutely terrible service. The receptionists are chatting and hanging away from the desk when there is a queue of visitors waiting. They are totally uninterested in customer service. I waited 10 minutes before someone nonchalantly walked from the couch to the desk I booked the wrong branch and asked if I could make a transfer to this one (even if I needed to pay extra) and the receptionist was extremely unhelpful and uninterested and said « no because there are no rooms » - when I told her there were rooms on the website she said « oh yeah but my manager doesn’t want to » . . . Excuse me but a hotel experience is ALL about customer experience and providing a pleasant and nice experience. Showing a bit of flexibility when it does not cause any harm (there were still rooms) is important - would not recommend at all

Four stars goes the location, friendly staff and clean room. Would’ve removed a star if not for those things, because getting a good nights sleep was super difficult here- there is major construction going on directly behind the hotel, into the evening and on Saturday. I asked for a quiet room, which placed me on the second floor facing the courtyard and the bass from the rooftop hotel was clearly heard in my room until the early hours. So- stay here if you plan to be out partying until the early hours, want to be near the train station and in easy reach of the main touristic sites, but don’t expect a quiet evening for an early morning.

Nice affordable hotel in a great location (Central Station). The room was pretty modern, clean and spacious. The only negative is that it got quite loud at night. It was like there were people clubbing downstairs/outside as we could hear loud music and people talking pretty clearly Also we had called room service for an ironing board & iron, and a kettle two times and waited for an hour and a half and still no one came. We eventually had to go to the reception to ask again. They still didn't bring a kettle though even though they had told us they could provide one when we originally booked the room, so not sure if there was a language barrier when we actually asked for it or that they just didn't provide it even after multiple requests.

Horrible. Don’t waste your money. If you pay just a small amount more you can be in a better hotel. Room was not cleaned properly, staff was rude, no amenities. It was my birthday and when I asked where I can go to get a bottle of wine - the front desk person said they didn’t know. Maybe to a gas station they said? The cleaning person never refilled the mini bar so it wouldn’t have even been a problem if they did their correct job. Such a disappointment. I hope this place shuts down.

I had a wonderful experience at Amano Hotel in front of Berlin HBF. The location is perfect for easy commuting, and the overall stay was fantastic. The staff were friendly, and the amenities were top-notch. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Berlin.

  • 3/5 Nick P. 6 months ago on Google
The location is the biggest win in this case. There are so many nice spots around it. The rooftop bar is okay. It looks cute, the restaurant downstairs is really nice. The rooms are okay - one must like the rather open style were privacy is limited to the absolute minimum. Biggest minus to me however is that service quality was astonishingly poor. Even thought the front desk staff was incredibly friendly the service generally was a bit disappointing. For example, even though we asked at the front desk: - the first three days nobody even bothered to replace the coffee tabs for the Nespresso machine in the room (we didn’t even receive any). It would have been lovely to have a coffee in the morning :) - bedding wasn’t exchanged during all four dass of our stay even though one sheet was dirty when I arrived in the room. In the end we just turned it around 😕 - whilst we were still in the hotel and hadn’t checked out yet a guy came in to investigate if we had used any of the items in the fridge/mini bar. From a hotel with high standards I’d have assumed that this is done quietly in the background and not in such an “inspection style”. Overall: it was okay, the location was great. But I wouldn’t necessarily choose Amano again.

The Superior room wasn't big at all, especially for 3 persons. Apart from that, there's nothing much to complain about the hotel and its facilities. Would recommend it to everyone staying in Berlin, because of the central station being so close by!

  • 4/5 Dylan N. 2 years ago on Google
Overall solid hotel right near Berlin Central Station (Haptbahnhof). The comfort room came with a room for the toilet but the shower was in the living room. No privacy. Recommend the Superior room for a better experience. The glass counter top was cracked showing the aging of the room. Front desk staff was good. Overall solid stay, nothing great, but nothing obtrusively bad.

Scammers and Thieves. We booked a stay at Amano Grand Central Hotel for two days. Due to a car accident we did not arrive the first day. The next morning we called the hotel and asked if we could come. We received information confirming our stay. On the spot, after a long journey, they told us that they had no vacant rooms and could not do anything about it. The receptionist Marcel deceived us several times and lied to us. They refused to give us written confirmation that our stay was cancelled. They do not want to refund our money. This is fraud and the matter will be taken to court. We have recordings that confirm this situation. I do not recommend anyone to use the services of these mangy swindlers.

The room was beautifully modern and clean. I had a quiet stay here as well. The location of the hotel is perfect as it’s next to the HBF and walking distance to a lot of main areas in Berlin. Checking in wasn’t a pleasant experience as I had waited in line for 20 minutes just to be redirected by staff to a self check-in machine which wasn’t even working. Therefore, I had to go back in line for 20 more minutes to be assisted. Overall, it took over an hour for me to get checked in. Checking out was a lot smoother and faster thankfully. I had my “no housekeeping” sign on my door as I wanted to nap in the afternoon without disturbance, but they seemed to have disregarded the sign and attempted to enter anyways. Other than those few minor inconveniences, I had a pleasant stay and would consider this hotel for future visits.

Hotel AMANO Grand Central has a wonderful location, has a nice rooftop bar, and the service is sporadically good, but that is where it stops. The Internet is slow. The beds are uncomfortable. There is no room service. The restaurants are all closed most of the time. There is no desk in the room to work. The chair they include in the room is a wooden chair that you can't sit on for over 60 minutes without feeling pain. The breakfast service is not worth the money. They don't replenish the breakfast items and generally provide mediocre service. I can't stress the location is excellent, but beyond that this hotel is frustrating. I stayed for 6 nights and work not for the excellent location, my stay would have been a complete waste of money.

It was my first time at the bar, I bought a ticket to the NYE party with my friends and the security guards were blocking us from entering at 23:40 saying we had to wait for people to leave the party so we could get in. No one left and they let us in, so this was a lie apparently or they oversold tickets, not sure what’s worse. This was already a sign of how would the party go. The lady at the bar was extremely rude at whatever question about the drinks and someone maybe from downstairs was throwing the the fireworks so near the outside area that a bunch of people was scared and entered inside the bar. The view from other fireworks wasn’t great either. On top of all that, a guy was touching my legs and I pushed him, he threatened that he would hit me and I told this to the security guard and he didn’t do absolutely anything, he told me to stop pushing him. Oh thanks for letting him harassing me. Another body guard also pushed hard my friend to pass saying he works there. Absolutely unacceptable treatment for a place that the party costed 50€ entrance with a welcome champagne only and drinks cost 13€ each. The playlist wasn’t great either. Horrible, never coming back here.

We had a premier suite room for 3 adults. It is the smallest and most inconveniently designed room ever. The room pretty much had just beds (once the sofa bed was open there was no space to sit, not even a chair). You barely had any space to walk past the second bed. For 3 adults, this room is far less than ideal. Would not recommend.

Lovely place. This was infinitely fancier, with nicer facilities than a supposed 4 start park inn by Radisson. Staff had a friendly and pleasant demeanor and really seemed happy with their positions. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well decorated. The lounge was classy and served well made cocktails. Overall it was a highly pleasant experience. Well that was a pleasurable sensation.

Terrible experience. I am appalled that hotels like this are allowed to operate nowadays. Not only they refused to provide us with the service that we paid for, they lied to us. We arrived in Berlin quite late, around 10PM, extremely tired just to find out that we do not have a place to stay. In other words, we were left out on the streets of Berlin at night. Even more disturbing is the fact that they confirmed our reservation when we called earlier that day. Furthermore, being promised an alternative arrangement to stay at a different hotel, we were even more disgusted with them when the receptionist at the other hotel said that nobody has arranged anything for us. We were just lucky that they had free rooms. And just to be consistent with their rudeness, they promised a refund for our reservation and now are refusing to give that to us. Only trouble, wasted time, nerves and money. Extremely rude and unprofessional.

I would definitely advise against staying here! The hotel refused my stay even though I paid for it because they sold the stay to someone else. They refuse to refund my money despite initial promises which turned out to be a lie. This is fraud. The staff was very unpleasant, unprofessional and lying. Stay away!

The reception area is totally dark( guess it's meant to be a design hotel) but the front desk team being dressed completely in black either makes them less friendlier than in other hotels or they are just expected to be that way. The only friendly face we experienced at the reception area was not part of the front desk, unfortunately. Most of the staff seemed to have no time to explain anything. Check in and check out is extremely slow, bring some time with you. The staff for the meeting rooms was super friendly and helpful that we felt like being in a hotel atleast for a day.

Very beautiful and clean rooms equipped with all you need. The size is perfect. Personnel was very nice with one small exception. The position is perfect being in front of the main station. The price is very cheap for what you get.

Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a room. This website will compare hundreds of hotel sites and typically will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This resort is the best rated in this area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few nights you definitely will love it I'm sure! Very beautiful and clean rooms equipped with all you need. The size is perfect. Personnel was very nice with one small exception. The position is perfect being in front of the main station. The price is very cheap for what you get.

This hotel punches well above its weight as a three star hotel, more like a nice 4 star. Awesome location if you’re traveling by train, staff were incredibly friendly. Book direct to get the most out of your stay!

We needed a room for 3, so we had a superior room with the sofa pulled out into a bed. That made the room very crowded, but the bathroom is also really small, so I wouldn't consider it superior in any case. We had to ask them to bring the advertised espresso machine to the room, and then realized that probably the reason why there wasn't one was because there was nowhere to put it that had a socket nearby. On top of all that, noise from other guests leaks into the rooms. The breakfast buffet is pretty good.

  • 4/5 Mira H. 1 year ago on Google
We stayed in this hotel for one night. The pros: - excellent location - clean room with new furniture - decent breakfast buffet with fresh coffee and variety on each item The cons: - no slippers in the room - very limited mini bar, a bottle of water would be nice - bathroom needed more isolation from the room or at least some ventilation

Good hotel nearby the main station in Berlin. Nothing too fancy but also not budget. Clean room upon entering. When we needed additional stuff it was provided quickly. We stayed in the winter but the temperature in the room was too warm.

I stumbled into this place, thoroughly jet-lagged, after screwing up a reservation at a nearby Menninger Hotel that, odds are, at a cost of around 60 euros I would have been unhappy in anyway. But the room at the Amano was expensive -- more than double that. Still, it was comfortable, stylish and roomy enough, and very close to the central station. Service was good and, supposedly, I was upgraded to a "comfort" room -- probably BS but the room was comfortable in any case. Apart from the high price, I'd stay here again if I couldn't find anyplace comparable nearby that was a bit cheaper.

Beside location is walkable from main train station, design of each room is great, spotless with nice amenities, I got studio with overlooking of other building that under renovation 😅. Staff is helpful and when they forgot to add extra pillow, they bring immediately, just wondering why they have nespresso machine when they don’t provide capsules? 🤦‍♀️. Breakfast got plenty of choices from 6-11. Perfect hotel for transit. Highly recommend

Good located and modern. But, they promised a “surprise on arrival” and we didn’t get anything. Cleaning staff opened our room twice when it was the check out day (8 and 9 am!), the remote didn’t worked. And our room was two single beds when we asked a double. We won’t repeat :(

the hotel in itself is pretty. looking nice. good vibes. the rooms are not as small as some reviews said. not clean enough - the rooms floor was actually extremely dirty in a way that made me uncomfortable to walk around the room. and you get exactly what the hotel describes - they will not accommodate a single tissue over what is promised. we came at 1am and there was not even water available.

A very lovely hotel to relax or enjoy your holiday in Berlin. It’s like a 2mins walk to Berlin central station. Just across the road beside Ibis Hotel. They have lovely staff and you can view the central station from the rooftop restaurant. It’s a lovely sight to behold. Their breakfast doesn’t have to many options but it’s totally nice for 18euro. I’d prefer you eating at the central station for lesser amount. There are so many food stores at the central station. Their check out time is 12pm, the room is spacious with comfortable pillows & mattress. I totally enjoyed my stay there. Will surely stay there next time I visit .

Perfect location very close to the main railway station. We were lucky to have a room with windows looking to the inner yard. The room was clean, there very only small details missing but generally for one or a couple of nights it’s a very good option.

stayed for three nights. initial room given to us when checked in had hair strands on one of the quilts. got a room change and the room was an open concept shower which had strong sewer smell. requested for kettle and it was so dirty inside. plus points? bedroom slippers requested were comfortable, shower gel and hand wash were good quality, and hotel is just opposite main train station.
