Cool atmosphere, great service and that's it. Maybe it's an off day, but I'm wondering how they got a Michelin star. We got the course meal without wine pairing. The dishes were either ok or a miss, nothing to rave about. And for that price, water really should be included, instead they charge 7.50 euros for a bottle of water. Overall it was a very disappointing experience, I do not recommend.

Hit and miss... 3 of the 6 courses where great, the other 3 ok... The restaurant very informal, industrial and minimalistic. From a 1☆ restaurant I expect more luxury like some nice amuses or other nice extras. The staff is friendly and attentive. Wine pairing was good, unfortunately no option for half glasses. Overall not the value for money I've hoped for.

An incredible evening. This is not an easy place to find, but it was well worth the search. Each of our seven courses was complex, interesting, engaging, and delicious. The service was professional and superb. The atmosphere is enjoyable and the result is successful. This is a special experience and the restaurant deserves it’s great Michelin rating

I don’t like writing bad reviews and generally i believe in “If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all”. Well, so let’s start positive. The experience leading up to the dinner is fun and exciting. The concept is something i like as well: this industry needs to innovate and try new things. The restaurant space itself was quiet disappointing to me. The rugged and industrial “designed” restaurant felt more like an afterthought to a warehouse. Very berlin i guess. It is also quiet cramped with very limited space in between tables. It was packed with customers and very loud imo. It was also quiet warm in there. These are all things that made me feel especially uncomfortable considering we are in the midst of an pandemic. They did only let people in that got tested, but i still think it was not necessary to fill the space like this. Even without corona this would have been an issue. The food was overall disappointing to me. The dishes overall lacked flavor and expression. I felt at times basic seasoning was missing. The presentation seemed excessive compared to the overall result. Besides the beet root dish i did not like much. The wine pairing was only good. Service seemed stressed and rushed with the dishes. For me a no-go! After mentioning it they slowed it down. Food was introduced and that’s it. I missed a feeling of passion and proudness for their trade in their overall attitude. Overall very disappoint considering the price and prestige coming with a star. The quality was just not there. This is purely my opinion and based on many visits in all sorts of fine dining venues around the world as well on my education in this industry. Casual fine dining is a niche that can be done a lot better.

Summary: nice vegetarian restaurant with cool design. Dishes in different quality but esp. the signature dishes a bit disappointing (Parmesan dumplings)

The experience begins with the email you receive containing directions to the restaurant. A door in the most unexpected location greets you upon arrival. Cookies Cream has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were all friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was truly exceptional. The restaurant's commitment to using fresh ingredients really shone through in each dish I tried. The flavors were bold and creative, and the presentation was stunning. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in each dish, from the artful plating to the expert pairing of flavors and textures. It becomes clear why the restaurant has a Michelin star rating. I highly recommend trying the non-alcoholic drink pairing. Each drink has a unique flavor that is very different from the typical wines served at restaurants.

It was not a first time for me and my husband to visit this type of restaurant, so expectations were quite high. We took menu of 5 dishes with wine paring and non-alcohol drinks. We should take a water: the drinks were not matching the dish ( on our taste). The wine or non-alcohol drinks interrupted the taste of the dish instead of supporting it… Did not get the point. Non-alcohol drinks, to be fair, itself tasted very nice…They are made by a restaurant, and I would buy those separately. Food: The starter was great. It was an egg with caviar of seaweed: unusual presentation, interesting taste. Super! It was very intriguing what is coming next. What a disappointment, I must say… A mushroom soup was very salty. Could not finish it.. The dish with beetroot tasted ok, but nothing special. The tomato- sauce was too experimental for my taste ( teriyaki with truffle) Couldn’t eat it… Dessert was tasty ( maybe in comparison with previous dish😂 ). Presentation: if starter was amazing: we did a lot of photos, the rest- just usual restaurant presentation, nothing interesting, not in line with the expected level of a restaurant. Service: restaurant was fully booked. The waiters were very nice! But restaurant should hire more people. We were waiting for a service for 20 min, and we were not the only one. Anyway Cost vs benefit: I will not recommend it.

Lovely setting, everything very Berlin [insert stereotypical expectations] but unfortunately the experience wasn’t quite worth the money (if it was cheaper probably I’d have given it 4 stars). Food was good and really creative takes on vegetarian dishes but the best things were off menu!! Literally we had 4 dishes swapped / added extra and these were by far the most impressive. Fermented potato didn’t quite make the cut, cannoli was too vinegary, turnip was great as far as turnip goes but not worth 20 euros.. The service was good but we arrived at 8:45 and were only sat down at 9:45 pm (no complimentary drink or apologies) and then they brought every course every 30 mins. We finished our meal at 1:15 am and we insisted that we need to go..! They were way too relaxed as they finished with the first setting. Quite disappointed as we’ve been highly recommended this place and it was good.. but not worth 200 euros per person good. More like 70 euros. Atmosphere was really nice though - good ambient music, excellent cocktails, clear concrete decor, nice vibe overall.

The best all vegetarian restaurant I have ever been. Menu was amazing, the service in the restaurant exquisite. You feel welcomed and will be surprised along the way. Typical Berlin feeling. Loved the welcoming area in the bar downstairs. Only bad thing from my side was the rude and completely unfriendly welcoming/ bar man. Expect from that I can recommend this place to everyone who wants to spent some money for a great experience in Berlin.

What people expect from Michelin restaurant - experience. Our experience was: Atmosphere 7/10 Interesting location, nice design. Stuff 7/10 All are friendly and nice, but there are small mistakes in the order and long waiting time to be served. Presentation/creativity 2/10 One dish out of 5 (a black egg with caviar) was the only dish which meets Michelin star expectations. You want to take a photo and remember it next day. The rest 4 dishes - just products nicely put together in a plate:) Taste 2/10 It's just sad, that after this experience some people will think that it's the best what you can get from vegetarian food. Tastes don't complement each other, structures don't add any value to dishes and all this even not vegan (except for an ice-cream) , so there are so many easy ways to do it really tasty. Drinks 4/10 Wine was tasty on its own but didn't fit the meal for 3/5 dishes. In some cases we ate food and drinks really separately. Michelin star? Seriously?))

Amazing experience, I went with my wife for our anniversary and we had delicious food, absolutely recommended. I don't give 5 starts just because the person who was in the entrance was not kind. When you go to this kind of places the whole experience should be special, and that wasn't

Cookies remains a must when visiting Berlin! Delicious, amazing flavors, great wine and non-alcoholic pairings. The staff is also great, friendly, flexible, professional. Try the parmesan dumplings with truffle and if you still have room, try the truffle cheesecake.

Every city we travel to, we try to dine in at least one high end restaurant. Even though we are meat eaters, we thought we would try a vegetarian restaurant, and we were not disappointed. Really enjoyed our dinner here. The journey is exciting even before you start eating, as you have to find the door to enter. Service was excellent. We did the set menu without pairing and enjoyed nearly all the dishes. There was one or 2 dishes that didn't hit the flavours for us. The Sauerkraut Dashi was on the bland side and needed a tangy or spicy kick. We loved the pointed cabbage. The dishes had the surprise factor and we didn't miss the meat element at all. Would come back here.

Great place. Went there the third time and I was never disappointed. Creative cuisine where vegetarian is the standard. Great tastes and combinations. Wine is a thing they understand and bring to life with their dishes. A great non alcoholic variant is offered which is home made and pairs with the dishes. Service is natural and honest. Nothing is a problem which can't be fixed. When you enter you feel like entering another world. Should go for a special night out.

The bread with the side of cottage cheese and herbs is no ordinary Bread. Really crunchy on the outside and cake-y on the inside. Leeks, sesame and black radish. So delicious. The leeks were substantial and soft, the radish biting and sesame nutty. Parmesan dumpling in a sherry truffle sauce and nuts. The service a little too abrupt for my taste. Yes I had to rush to an appointment afterwards but there was no reason for them to rush through everything. Drinks: green tea with agave and lime juice. Sparkling lemonade with rosemary. You can smell the rosemary but not taste it.

Firstly the fresh bread and leek butter, with a sesame snap on top....was incredible! They bring more too if you ask (hehe). For starters we had the onion, leeks, and vegetarian caviar. The onion and leeks were tasty, but the caviar was insanely good and blew our minds! A definite must have.

The food was great. The entrance is in a shady alley and hard to find, what makes it fun to find such a high-end place there. However. From the moment we got in, they were trying to serve us our dishes as quickly as possible so we would leave asap and they could sell another table. I understand you want as much customers as possible, but if I spend €250 in a restaurant I want to feel free to linger a bit, maybe drink another glass of wine and really enjoy the evening. And not feel rushed and get kicked out after 1.5 hours.

Was disappointed with this restaurant. We went having read all the hyped reviews. we felt it was pretentious and the food did not inspire. Whilst we were told how meticulously crafted these dishes were with the long explanation given to us by the waiters. We simply wanted to eat some food. The meal went on forever. We felt it was more of a show and a performance by the waiters than it was a culinary experience. For the price, it would’ve been nice to have felt a warmer atmosphere and to have had more food. there were too many cold dishes for December. Incredibly expensive and uninspiring. We would rather have had some more creative wines on the menu that were less expensive. We were not allowed tapwater and had to pay for bottled. The wine all started at about €60. Whilst it suggest a cool modern restaurant it’s actually quite old school in its attitude. It would do well to follow in the footsteps of Oh Panama which is much more modern and user friendly

Stunning. So much fun (including finding it). Amazing cocktails. Cant believe how they transform veggies. Left very full. Nice non alcoholic drink pairing too. Splurge for the egg w seaweed caviar. Ate it too fast to get a pic.

Last night we enjoyed the 5 course meal with an additional speciality each. My fellow diners ordered without dietary requirements, I ordered vegan. The service, hospitality, and quality of the dining experience was exceptional, with the ingenuity of the meals pushing it into the realm of inspirational. While I may be a culinary philistine, I can appreciate the adventure of my palate was taken on last night. Additionally, I would highly recommend the non-alcoholic beverage pairings to the meal. This, more than anything made the night stand out, as the flavour enhancements went far beyond the typical 2-dimensional nuances of a wine pairing. I would like to imagine that should an emphasis be made on this style of pairing, Cookies Cream will find itself another star richer.

Cookies Cream has been the most precious gem of a restaurant in Berlin and has been my favourite for over a decade now. The place is awesome, it has a very Berlin entry, the staff is super friendly and the food is out of this world. No surprise that they have a Michelin star as one of the first vegetarian restaurants in Germany. I really love it and recommend it to everyone

Loved the 5 course menu, wasn’t very excited about the wine pairing though, except for the dessert wine. Kohlrabi and asparagus dishes will go down in history. 🫶 the service and the place itself are top notch.

It had been on my bucket list for a very long time to visit a fine dining restaurant, but since I'm vegan, my options are quite limited worldwide. Finally, in Berlin, this place was my immediate thought. The place is extravagant in its own way. The interior is super simple, with no extraneous details. The music in the dining hall was a bit too loud, so I had to strain my voice every time I spoke to my partner. Water is not complimentary, which may be a German custom. My belief is that when you're paying over 150€ per person, some still water could be offered as a courtesy. The food was the star of the night, and as a vegan chef myself, I had high expectations. It did not disappoint. The presentation, plating, and flavors were spot on, and the dishes complemented each other perfectly. We started with a Jerusalem artichoke tartare with tonburi and yuzu gel—a very fresh and appetite-inducing way to start. Then we continued with the bell pepper tartare, which, for me, was the highlight of all the savory courses. The flavor was so intense yet gentle at the same time; it felt like I was tasting this everyday staple vegetable for the very first time. Each bite offered something new, whether it be a flavor note or a new texture. Sometimes certain flavors were overpowering, like the verjus glaze on the celeriac. The dish with beetroot, chicory, and shallot confit had all the elements playing and complementing each other well, even though I would have preferred the beetroot to be slightly more tender. But the dessert was magnificent, with the combination of contrasting flavors, textures, and temperatures merging into a wonderful finale for the entire menu. The service staff were very attentive and friendly, each with their own character and manner of interacting with guests. Due to a misunderstanding, instead of receiving two vegan menu versions, we received one dish that was vegetarian, which they handled gracefully by providing us with a discount, a replacement, and complimentary pralines. Overall, I can rate my experience as meeting expectations (in a really good way because they were high). I highly recommend it for a special occasion.

This has got to be one of the "dodgiest" entryway to a restaurant to ever be awarded a Michelin star. Also one of the hippest "underground" restaurants in Berlin at the moment. Finding my way here to ring the bell at the unassuming door was an adventure in itself!

This was such a nice place to dine. It had such a wonderful atmosphere. It was hard to find which I loved. The aesthetics where don’t to a T. The food tasted amazing. And the drink pairings where absolutely perfect. The waiter was so smooth and the exact type of waiter I love not to much. And the drinks where delicious. The food was superb

The service was excellent (except for the awkward part where you have to tell the waiter how much you'd like to tip them when they are entering your total sum themselves) and the food was good, however not great with the price in mind. I did expect more complex flavors and inventive dishes. I had the five course menu and the dessert was by far the best one. Also a bit ridiculous not to have a better guidence to find the restaurant when it's so well hidden as it is.

Celebrated a special occasion here and everything about the experience was perfect. Started with a secret entrance which gives it a nice enigmatic feeling. The food and wine pairing was exquisite and the courses were well paced with no rush or too much delay. Of course none of this is cheap and be prepared to pay up for a one of a kind experience! Definitely one of the top 10 food experiences in my life!

One of the best restaurant experiences since I live in Berlin. I didn't take any pictures. Would be like a spoiler for TV shows. Not that it looks sooo different from other "restaurants", but it should be something you discover from scratch. It feels so Berlin, and then it is a Michelin star restaurant. Just make a reservation!

We never had such a nice experience in a restaurant as I had by Cookies Cream. The staff was so, but so friendly that we feel like home, the waiter sat by our side to explain every detail of the plate, and he told us the history from each wine that we were drinking. The food, without comments, just perfection. One suggestion: just go and enjoy it.

A unique culinary experience with high quality dishes, and an amazing and extremely attentive service. I would recommend it 100% for both vegetarians and not. The only remark is that it was a bit noisy to hear well the people at the other side of the table (of 6 ppl) but the experience is definitely worth it!

(Translated by Google) We stayed at Cookies Cream on a Saturday night. Almost without exception, we found the food to be good, some even very good. There were 7 courses with wine accompaniment. From my point of view and for my taste, all wines went well with the dishes. The service was very, very friendly, calm and quite unconventional. But an absolute minus point: I ordered a glass of Ruinart Rosé from the menu. Then another service person came to tell me that this champagne was out and that ER Ruinart and Moët (whatever Moët had to do with it) generally did not find it great anyway. Perplex I then asked him to bring an alternative. The alternative was: Ruinart Blanc. That was more than weird. Tip 1: Take everything from the card that you (or someone from the team) don't like. I hope that doesn't apply to Ruinart Rosé;) Tip 2: Communication with the guest in this way is extremely unprofessional. Still a clear recommendation! We'll be back for sure. Dennoch ganz klare Empfehlung! Wir kommen sicher wieder.

We treated ourselves to the 7-course; my colleague with alcoholic accompaniment and I me the non-alcoholic variant. It was just wonderful - haute cuisine at a high level and then also vegetarian. The service extremely attentive and competent; the atmosphere was very pleasant as always. Of course, such quality has its price, but it was always worth it. We definitely had enough with the 7-course and still enjoyed every course to the full. We would go back to Cookies Cream at any time and look forward to next time.

We had been shown to the table right away without waiting around. New dishes added every month, we were really pleased with the variety here. The staff had been usually on hand to hear our requests. Affordable menu prices, would visit here yet again. We totally enjoyed our meal here and would undoubtedly recommend it.

Let me start by commenting on the waiting staff: They were exceptional! I have seldom seen such a balanced team on such a busy evening (14th of February). They were not waiting on people and running around, they were performing a naturally formed ballet, switching tables as if it was all part of the performance. Furthermore, they talked about their produce (both food & drinks) with a deep and sincere passion. One should always nourish a team like this. The wines were not brilliant per se, but in combination with the food, they elevated each other. The menu was well balanced. Fresh, herby and even meaty dishes followed and brought loads of variation. An exercise that is not obvious this time of the year, if you want to use fresh and locale produce. A menu like this could convert true carnivores (like myself) to vegetarian food. Why did I only give 4 stars? Because I feel they even have a bigger potential.

Two things we have learned while visiting Cookies Cream. First: if you think you are on the wrong path and you will not find the place, move further around the corner into the offloading zone. And look up. Second: even meat lovers, like my wife and me, are able to immensely enjoy a vegetarian 5 course menu. Try it, it is worth it, with the wine pairing. Amazing until the end: the saffron ice cream.

(Translated by Google) Thank you for this event - as you can imagine - hardly to be found (like in the far corner, so that only cultivated people can reach this place) in the backyard of the Westin Grand or the Komische Oper, this culinary gem is a short distance from the Brandenburg Gate , And if the wall hadn't fallen 30 years ago - you would have brought it down with your food. You have to dig a little deeper into your pocket, but I would not have expected anything from the greeting - the service to the actual delicacies. In short, congratulations on the location - on the team - on the meal - anytime again!

(Translated by Google) for the price you expect the best and if it somehow doesn't live up to expectations you come out pretty disappointed, and so it was with us. Black truffle celery was not edible for my wife and she left more than half on the plate, but the kitchen response was top notch. She immediately got an alternative, even more expensive, gear for free. But ... it wasn't particularly tasty either ... And that's the way it is, you feel served in any case, but the food does not meet the expectations that you associate with a star restaurant ... actually a shame.

Still our favorite fine dining restaurant in Berlin! The food, the wines and the people make this place simply fantastic. It's so authentic and playful - we love it!

  • 4/5 Marco F. 2 years ago on Google
It is a nice place. It only serves 5 or 6 or 7 course dishes. You can have pairing with wine or non alcoholic drinks. Even though it is not my favorite type of food, I enjoyed the food. The price is very high, but you also pay for the "exclusivity". It is a funny way to get 8nto.tje restaurant, you have to go through the hotels rock 🤔, but I guess it is part of the experience. I did not take pictures of inside or the food because there was a sign requesting not too, but after seeing a lot of pictures from other people, Iguess I could have 😉.

We had a great experience. The flavors, textures and visuals are masterfully combined. It's worth to order the wine pairing, my partner ordered the non-alcoholic pairing and it was also really good. The service staff is youthful and authentic, as is the place itself, very Berlin.

Bravo !

We had a great night at Cookies Cream when we visited Berlin in December 2022. We "settled" for five dishes incl. the wine menu and everything was perfect: the food, the wine, the staff and the setting. It was a really good tasting experience. And worth every euro. We left full and happy and hope to have the opportunity to come again another time.

First of all, the concept of vegetarian fine dining is great! The general ambience is modern, urban, casual, but still sophisticated. We didn't like it 100%, but you still feel comfortable. The service was attentive and nice, however the communication was very focused on one person at the table, which seemed a bit odd to us. The menu was tasty, but most of the dishes didn't surprise or blow us away. The dessert, on the other hand, was to die for - very tasty indeed. All in all, it was a nice evening with good food.

We enjoyed a wonderful night out with friends. Would recommend wine and non alcoholic pairings. Peter the sommelier was knowledgeable and a lovely host. The atmosphere was relaxed and the food delicious and unique. All the options are vegetarian so i happily ate each dish with no hesitation.
