Its sometimes good sometimes no saving. If you are travelling mainly with public transport remember a day ticket is aprox. €7-8 per day. Entrance is reduced a little. If you are a student it wont pay off due to better student discount without the card. If you are a family it might sometimes pay off. Kids less than 14 are with free transport. However, sometimes the Berlin Welcome card reduction gives a worse price than paying a family ticket in the entrance. Conclusion: It's convenient when using the public transport. But you do not save anything on that compared to a day ticket. A typical saving for a sight is 10-20%. So a entrance of 10 might now be 8. Unless the family ticket is better, then you save nothing with the card. We were 2 adult and 1 kid at 11. That combo saved us good on transportation since kids are included for free. But we rarely saved euros on the entrance fees due to family ticket. If we were 2 adults we would just buy day tickets. So you better spend half an hour to figure out what 5 main attractions you want to see, how many you are - and then decide!

We were in Berlin for three days and chose the all-inclusive version including public transport = 109 euros per person. We would do it like that again. Card booked online, then picked up at a location of your choice. Highly recommended, savings alert! The excursions we used: -Traveled by public transport several times -City shipping was good -City Circle bus tour, was ok, very little information -Sea World, was ok -Spy museum was good -Hitler, how could it happen. Was very impressive! -TV tower, was great! -Madame Tussauds, was good -DDR Museum was ok -Old museum, only suitable for real fans!

Having a travelcard is useful. But a lot of the discounts can be found on the cards in many hotel foyers, or by booking in advance on attraction websites. As you can't get the discounts online, you can often find yourself queuing for quite a long time to buy tickets, then just as long again to get into the attraction. Not worth the time.

Don't buy cards online the day of your trip/ night before. Ticket offices need them printed (but don't scan them or won't use their own printers). Customer service in person and by email is pretty awful. Useful card though

Please save your money! It is not worthy. I bought the all inclusive card, however they took the day of the purchase as the first day of use. Which means that I could not use a card that I bought in advance when planning my trip, I never could use it over there. At the tourist office, the staff did not mention about the card being "expired" when I first went, the person just said that I would not be able to go to specific museums without booking in advance and when I asked which museums instead of answering he was asking me "what museums do you want to go?" which is ridiculous because they have a looong list of museums, plus it was my first time in Berlin. He just needed to point to the places I needed to book in advance and he needed my prompt to do something as basic and obvious as that. Then, he said that I could not use the bus for the city tour today without saying when I could and the schedules. When I asked he just said you have to come tomorrow. It was really bad attention. When I went the next day the woman could not solve the issue with the date. This did not happen with the other passes I bought in other countries (Italy, France and Budapest) which tickets would be valid once you start using the card or pass. So, the lady told me this is a mistake that has not been solve by the company she made a phone call and tried to help but at the end she did not solve the situation and blamed as "they have not fixed this" and asked me to explain the situation when visiting the museums. I still was charged to a museum I went. Additionally, the staff seems overwhelmed so they are not really welcoming and helpful which should be the basic for an office offering touristic services. So, I gave to them 130 euros for nothing in exchange. A scam basically. Please save the headache, a lot of museums are free and other important museums are not expensive at all. You'll spend from 2 to 3 hours in each museum or attraction so if you're there only for 2 to 4 days, believe me you barely have time to use the card even if you buy it over there and are able to use it. It is just not worthy. You won't use what you will pay for. Its better just to buy your tickets online with each museum and buy the public transportation tickets over there. Additionally when I wrote to the contact information they provide, they replied 15 days later when of course I was back in town, the answer was about where to use the card as if I live there and can go any time and saying the can't not refund. (the 5 stars I gave are for people to be able to quickly read this) is not a 5 stars service at all.

I have little to say about the map. As fate would have it, my map was stolen about 7 minutes after I received it, so I only got to see it a single time. To travel I relied on my spirit of adventure and my ability to orient myself. Only once did I risk getting lost, I curled up on the ground, cried a little but then managed to find my metro stop. Since I can't review the map, I'll leave you with a joke below. His girlfriend Ilary gives Totti a book, he opens it and reads: "Summary...Nice, I know Francesco!"

Not usable for online bookings! Why? There is a big problem with this card. It advertises a lot of discounts, but most of them are only available when you buy tickets at the counter, not for online bookings. Which is currently requested by most attractions in Berlin due to Corona. Senseless....

Hamburger Bahnhof did not accept our Welcome Berlin 72hrs ticket while it is advertised as free entry on the website.

Very useful, informative and convenient: public transport is included, along with numerous discounts for museums and city attractions. It's very easy to get it online. However I recommend the hard copy for your first visit as the pocket (printed) brochure that comes with the ticket is quite handy. I already bought the Berlin WelcomeCard on 3 different occasions, to be able to move around freely and at a lower cost, with my friends who came for a short visit. I highly recommend it.

Discounts are really not that interesting and in order to use them you always have to go to the desk clerk. So you end up queuing for hours to save 1 or 2 €,w those who don't have a card but their tickets from the Internet or at an automated machine and can enter straightaway.

It is not played with open cards. For example, the Friedrichstadtpalast is advertised with a 25% discount. However, this is obviously not true as only high-priced card categories are discounted. What use is a card that advertises high discounts that don't actually exist? This is not serious!

Unfortunately, the promises are not kept. I had to pay €38.00 for 2 city boat trips of 2 hours, even though a 25% discount was stated. With a single price of €22.50 = €45 for 2 people, that would be a saving of €11.25 and not actually just €7. Improvement is certainly possible.

We got scamed! Missing information in the machines where we bought this card. We chose in the machine a 5 days welcome card, then it shows up "Do you want to include the museum's island" we say yes, it showed 4€ more, we agreed and finished the purchase. Then we start moving around the city. At the 3rd day, an inspector in the train approached to us and we showed him the ticket so confident that we had purchased the 5 day ticket. Unfortunately, he showed us it was just a 72 hour ticket and let us go. We started looking out for information about this card, because we were so sure we bought 5 day ticket. What we found is that we had chosen a 5 day ticket, but when we choose with museum island, instantly, the machine move to 72 hours ticket plus museum. Meaning there's no 5 day ticket+ museum island, it is just 72 hour ticket plus museum. So for us was a scam that you are allowed to pick museum island even when you already chose the dates. Why is that missing information in the machine?. Thanks to the inspector we didn't receive a fine. We are tourist and don't know how the system works, that's why it should be clear in the machines. We ended up playing around 20€ more that a citizen pay normally.

AVOID Their website is not clear at all about which discount you get with which card. I booked free entries for Pergamonmuseum only to find out that it wasn’t covered by the regular welcome card. It was my last day in Berlin and I was on a tight schedule so I couldn’t get another ticket in time and couldn’t visit the museum as a result. It kind of ruined my last day. To summarise : the regular welcome card doesn’t cover museum island. You should make this clearer on your website !

Welcome card? Should be called Scam a Tourist Card! Travelled from the UK to Berlin July 2023. They entice you into the welcome card but it was worthless for us however cost £112! So not cheap at all. We booked it for the public transport mainly and at no point did any conductors ask for tickets or check them in Berlin. It is basically free transport. Do not book it for the transport. Even the train from the airport to the centre is unchecked. You more or less can get on any train you want!

The Berlin Welcome Card is great for traveling on public transport. However, if you have booked plus Museum Island, you should know that it is only valid for 72 hours and you will not receive a reservation for the more popular museums on the island during this time. One predicts that, but no one predicts that. Too bad!

Our experience with booking a 6 day Berlin Card on line was absolutely disgraceful. I made a genuine error on the date which was entered on the booking. It defaulted to the date of the booking rather than the dates (3 weeks later) when we were visiting. I immediately emailed the company and there followed a series of emails back and fore but I was refused my request to just change the dates on the Berlin Card. We had spent 112 euros. We weren’t asking for a refund, merely an exchange. It was repeatedly denied despite an obvious, genuine mistake. (Why would I book it for dates when we weren’t in Berlin?). I then tried to sort it out in person at the Tourist Information centre at the Brandenburg Gate. Again my request was refused. It totally spoilt our trip to Berlin. I was too upset. We are pensioners and can ill afford to lose over 112 euros AND then pay again when we were there. It certainly didn’t feel like a Berlin WELCOME card. The total opposite in fact.

You save very little money and you end up wasting a ton of time. For your discounts you have to que for hours while the online bought tickets go straight in. And a day ticket for transport will cost you less.

The berlin welcomecard is quite useless in time of covid. All museum have to be booked online well in advance if you want to visit them. This had to be done online where you can not use the discount. If you wait until the day self, there is no more places available.

Very bad idea to take the welcome card in the summer 2022: all public transport unlimited for 9€ / month. Besides we didn’t had any discount in the top musea of Berlin.

Tourist trap, don't take it! It was refused to us almost everywhere except at the television tower but on the internet the tickets are cheaper than online... useless!

Purchasing the welcome card (25% discount) was absolutely uncomplicated. We took it from the machine as a ticket at the Grünau S-Bahn station. We got the other extras (a booklet with the participating facilities and a small city map, which you can also get in the information center) at the tourist information office at the Brandenburg Gate. Otherwise, I have the question of whether it makes sense. If you book combination tickets for several facilities, you get a discount but no additional discount for the WelcomeCard. At the TV tower there was a note on the ticket machine that the WelcomeCard was not accepted. I have no idea whether it would have been different. At least there were inspectors at the entrance who wanted to see tickets. They were accepted at Sea-Live, which is why we didn't pay any extra.

I ordered the 72-hour ticket twice. It was paid via PayPal. I then received a booking confirmation, unfortunately no tickets. So I assumed that the booking confirmation was sufficient when I checked and the tickets were no longer required. Unfortunately, the first day of operation was a Sunday and no one was available at the service center. I then wrote an email and described the process. On Monday I was pleasantly surprised and received an answer. The content was less positive. Due to a technical problem, the tickets were not sent via email. Why do you only find out about this when you ask? I would be asked to go to a Tourist Information office and have the maps printed there. Unfortunately, there was no such location in the surrounding area. A second email to send me the cards to my email address was not received at all. I received the information that my booking had been canceled and I would receive a refund of the money I had paid. So I had to go and get a ticket at a train station. If I had been driving while black and was stopped, would I have been reimbursed for the fine? Hardly likely. The service telephone number provided on the website can also be removed. After the announcement that an employee would be in touch: There is currently no availability by telephone. Service is different!

When we bought it, we were told that we could also use it in the museums. We realized that it is not possible with all the ticket versions. Unfortunately, we had to buy additional tickets for museums.

Purchased the 72hr all inclusive card. We had no idea how to use it on public transport. There is limited information on it. Information on attractions are limited. We ended up arriving at attractions only to find out that the place was still closed. When we returned, we were told that we had to book time slots for English tours. Staff at the tourist center had limited information about the hop on busses which led to more delays and frustration.

I am unhappy about my experience of using the Berlin Welcome Card for Museum Island. I note from the City Guide provided with the card that I am entitled to a free entry to each Museum on the Museum Island once a day during the 3 day covered by the card. However when I tried to book online, I found there is no option for such free entry at the Alte Nationalgalerie. So I went to the Gallery to ask the staff and one of them told me that there's a Special Exhibition and if I want to see anything at the Gallerie, I got no choice but to pay extra. There is no option apart from the Special Exhibition. This is different from situation at the Pergamonmuseum, where there is an ongoing Exhibition in addition to a Special Exhibition such that card holders of the Museum Island category can still enjoy the regular Exhibition free of charge. Thus my family and I do not have the option of free entry to the Nationalgalerie even once, not to mention once a day as described in the Cityguide. And the Welcome to Berlin card website or Tourist Information office or the ticket machine at train station does not provide this information. I find it a waste of money and time spent on booking timeslot in vain online. The organizer owes me an explanation on this unfair treatment to tourists.

Arrived in Tegel airport. Went to the info counter and got a 4 day ABC zone pass for €37 as I wanted to visit Potsdam on this trip. I was able up one it on all public service. S U M and buses. Plus i did get discount from several museums I visited. Just stamp once when you are getting the first trip and then keep in your pocket.

    * EDIT. Avoid at all costs. No refunds or date changes available even though Germany is refusing entry from UK visitors. The rude customer services team then implied it is my fault for booking with them in the first place during a pandemic (there were no travel restrictions at all when I booked my trip and we seemed to be coming out the other side!). Definitely won’t make that mistake of booking with them again. They’re just out to take as much money off people as possible, and they’ve made the entire experience so much worse than it needed to be, particularly with their rude replies. Really disappointed that the welcome card hasn’t adapted to the new requirements set out due to covid. You are unable to book online with the welcome card but most attractions require you to book in advance now. Seems like a complete waste of money. The website and information is also difficult to use in English, as even if you select English as your preferred language, it changes back to German on the next page. I’m not due to travel until December but they still won’t let me cancel the pass now that I’ve realised it’s essentially pointless. Until they sort out making online bookings easy and available for all attractions, I would avoid completely, as you are spending more on this pass than you are saving.

If I could give this negative stars, I would. It's not worth it, as others have said. On museum island, it was turned down by the clerk there. I had to buy a ticket to see the museums there. I checked with the Welcome Berlin card people and they told me I was supposed to be given entry. I told them I knew that and showed them my purchased tickets as proof it wasn't accepted. After asking for a refund or even a partial refund, they stopped contact with me immediately. Do not buy this card as it's a scam and should not be allowed. It's nothing but a way to turn tourists away from Berlin at this point. Edit: I responded as requested to the email provided within a week, got not a single response. It's been over a month now and still nothing. They just want people to believe they care that you're unsatisfied. Total waste. City isn't very good either -- I'd suggest other cities in Germany though like Frankfurt.

I ordered the cards and they were sent to my home by mail. However, since they were no longer needed, I should refuse to accept the package and I would then be refunded the money I paid via PayPal. Unfortunately, this package has disappeared and I am now stuck with the purchase price of the cards. The employee was very uncooperative on the phone and insisted that I pay the purchase price or that I would not get any money back. A goodwill refund could have been made here. However, the company does not see itself in a position to do this. I would also like to point out that we didn't need the maps on our trip to Berlin. So you should think carefully about whether you buy these cards. You can explore a lot of Berlin on foot. I will never buy the Berlin Card again.

Not really worth it. Many attractions have to be booked online in advance in order to be able to use them, which is NOT possible with the Welcome Card. The Welcome Card is a nice idea. Unfortunately it doesn't work in practice. My advice: stay away.

Don't buy it, it seemed like a scam to me since almost nothing of what they advertise is included and if you only go sightseeing for a few days you can't take advantage of it. The television tower doesn't fit, neither does the victory column, etc. If we didn't buy it, it would have been more expensive to pay for transportation and attractions separately.
