A heavy metal spectacle at the Velodrome Arena: Ghost Shines, while navigation takes a spooky turn: Amidst an incredible performance and a night to remember, there were a few hiccups that added an element of adventure to the evening. First things first, let's address the daunting task of finding the entrance to the Velodrome arena. It was like embarking on a quest to find the elusive Hogwarts—everyone seemed to face the same confusion. The labyrinthine paths and lack of clear signage made the journey to the entrance feel like a needle-in-a-haystack endeavor. But, fear not! Embrace the chaos and let it add to the mystique of the night. After all, what is a heavy metal concert without a little adventure? Once inside, the magic truly began. Ghost, the enigmatic heavy metal band, graced the stage with a spellbinding performance. Their energy was infectious, and the crowd was electrified from the first note. The band's musicianship, combined with their theatrical stage presence, created an atmosphere of dark enchantment that left us spellbound. From powerful vocals to mesmerizing guitar solos, Ghost delivered a show that was nothing short of phenomenal. It was an unforgettable display of musical prowess and showmanship. However, it's worth noting that the absence of giant screens at the venue was a small disappointment. These screens often serve as a way to enhance the visual experience, allowing concertgoers to see close-ups of the performers and enjoy a more immersive view, regardless of their seating position. While it didn't detract significantly from the overall enjoyment of the concert, it would have been a welcome addition to capture every intricate detail of Ghost's performance. Despite the minor setbacks, the evening at the Velodrome arena was a thrilling and memorable one. The magic of Ghost's performance overshadowed any navigation challenges faced beforehand. The band's undeniable talent and stage presence made it an unforgettable night for metal enthusiasts and new fans alike. 4.5/5 Stars

As a concert venue, it's quite interesting. Finding the entrance ist the easiest thing if you've never been there before. The venue itself is quite nice. Food and drinks are surprisingly cheap compared to other venues which is a pleasant surprise. Depending on the concert, the venue sizes changes. If you get a ticket for the "rang" you'll get a seat in the upper part. The seats are a bit short and slim, not the most comfortable chairs, but passable. Sound quality is good and overall atmosphere is great. The staff is friendly, but the ones working the entrance/security do seem overwhelmed at times.

We went to My Chemical Romance concert and experience wasn’t nice. Everyone was confused about where the entrance was. We were told to go down the "Schwimmhalle", walk to the end of the line under the bridge and then go back in line to enter. 🤷🏻‍♀️ There was a small area at the entrance for merch and we can’t go in there. Stuff tell us to come after 8 pm (start of the warm-up), when we came they said if we went out to buy merch, we would not go back in.🤦🏻‍♀️ Strange arrangement of seats. It is not clear how and from which side to find a place. Many people simply stood behind because, they could not find their place or even go threw people to find it.😐 I give 3 stars only for the good staff. Thank you very much for the attentiveness of the employees, they did a good job, quickly and clearly answered questions❗️

Oh well. Was probably my first and last concert in the Velodrome. We were there 1.5 hours before the Tom Odell concert started. The queue was more than a kilometer long - we really didn't expect something like that... After 20 minutes of waiting, we went into the arena with a relatively easy bag check, where fortunately the crowds were better divided. Drinks and food were great, you could also pay by card! Thanks to the free choice of seats in the stands, many people didn't get a seat... Parts of the room were so poorly lit that many rows of seats remained empty in the dark because the new arrivals thought that all the seats were already occupied. The escape routes were actually permanently blocked by everyone who couldn't find a place and was sitting on the stairs. The sound wasn't set well from the start, it was just way too loud at times. And after just 5 minutes of the concert, the first person in the pit at the front fainted. People were pulled out of the crowd several times. Luckily (contrary to other reviews) water bottles were distributed to the front rows at this concert. Still, there has to be a better way somehow. More barriers in the open space, better division of the pit, with stamped entry, so that people also dare to have a drink and go to the toilet. I wouldn't want to experience a crowd surge in such a crowd. Please work on your concept so that visitors are safe!

We were here for the RTL high diving and the atmosphere was unique. Despite the commercial breaks, it was never boring. Although the event lasted from 8:15 p.m. until well after 1:00 a.m., we didn't want to miss a moment because the atmosphere was simply phenomenal.

A very impulsive building. Cool. We were in the concert hall, so the rating should be understood in that direction. Great sound. Great concert hall. It feels like you can see very well from all sides. The only thing is that the cloakroom and entrances to the hall feel too close together, which creates a lot of crowding. However, I believe that there is no other way to solve this. Conclusion: Always happy. P. S. Cool connection via S-Bahn Berlin.

The concert hall is large, but not too big. Impressive architecture outside, but also inside. Very good acoustics. There are several cloakrooms and toilets and also drinks stands, so you don't have to queue for long. Definitely recommended for concerts!

Queue was incredibly mismanaged, we were there early and queued for hours before we got close, to discover that there was absolutely no queue management putting 12,000 people through one door. Because of this, we missed both support acts which were the whole reason we had bought tickets. Incredibly disappointed and not to mention stupidly dangerous for all of us. Acoustics are very good though (if you ever make it in). We all have tickets, this isn't Berghain.

The venue looks cool but the organization is a bit chaotic. Only one queue to enter the venue so long waiting lines. Coat rooms did not have enough space to queue up neither. On the way out after the concert, the stairs were so full and everything was blocked for so long. Also could not really go out since everyone was blocking the exit waiting for the coat...

I was here for ESL Berlin Major 2023. The entrance was quite difficult to find, I was expecting a huge building, who would've thought it stand underground. The entrance itself is huge, there's lift inside if you come with wheelchair. Toilets are easily accessible. Food price are decent, with vegan option.

It was my first time at a race like this in person. First off, clean, professional, and welcoming. Loved the food, the coat check, and just the open area to walk around and explore. If you visit for an event you will have a great view from anywhere you decide to watch from.

Went to see My Chemical Romance at Velodrom last night. Great concert, but beyond poor organisation. We had to wait in line for more than half an hour despite arriving just after the doors opened. After finally entering, we were told that the merchandise area was closed, most likely because the staff was simply not up to the task of handling all the people wanting to buy band gear. We then wanted to buy a few drinks and had to spend another 30 minutes in a queue before ultimately discovering that it wasn't possible to pay with card, as it was cash only. How that can be the case in 2022 is beyond my comprehension. Whenever we had a question, it was almost impossible to find a member of the staff with the knowledge and English language skill to answer it.

The toilets on the lower floor smell very unpleasant of sewage, even though our event had only been open for about 20 minutes. Not acceptable in our case because the VIP area was down there. The owner of this location should do something about it. It was really disgusting

Visit of the Schlager Champions - live broadcast by ARD, ticket price over 100 euros. When we arrived about an hour before the start of the event, there were at least no long queues in front of the hall, the entrance is literally "underground", the signage could still be improved. At that point, the cloakrooms were all full and no longer accepting jackets. At some point there was a tip about an additional wardrobe in the “gallery”. At the other end of the hall and waiting in line for half an hour. I only reached my seat 5 minutes before the live broadcast started. Overall, due to its size, it's more like watching into the distance than watching TV. The sound is of course loud, but even overdriven in places. What's really annoying are the mobile beer sellers who like to stop in the middle of the field of vision and as a result of this, at some point there are some drunken spectators who can then become quite unpleasant. At the end of the event there is a mass rush to the few cloakrooms and the 5 doors, it takes what feels like an eternity to get out of the hall. The next hit champions will definitely be at home in front of the TV. It's simply more relaxed - with much better visibility!

I went to the Underworld concert at the Velodrome. The hall itself is large and there was an incredibly good light show. The sound was great too. Definitely negative points for the fact that the entry and exit situation from the hall was not regulated during the break and there was therefore a lot of crowding and traffic jams right in front of the stairs. Something like that shouldn't actually happen at an event of this size. There were also very, very long queues at both of the 2 bars, so there were far too few for so many people. What I also found very questionable was an older security lady at the entrance who didn't want to let me in with my cell phone chain because "I could hit someone with it." This necklace has been going to all concerts and clubs with me for 5 years without any problems, but the lady probably needed something to fulfill her quota :)

Long uncomfortable walk. Strenuous for older people and those with limited mobility. Elevators out of service. Not enough functioning toilets. Program parts very hectic and quick one after the other. It's a shame that there wasn't even time to give proper applause for the individual performances and artists.

Went to Disney on ICE and sat very high up. Nevertheless, we were able to see the stage very well. The seats are small and everything is very cramped. If several taller and more corpulent people sit next to each other, it becomes difficult. Otherwise great venue with lots of parking spaces next door. The S Bahn stops almost right in front of the door. The prices for drinks and food are high. 0.5 liters of Cola cost 5.20 euros.

I was here for Disney on Ice. I actually thought it was great. Of course, the velodrome can't help it because it was very full and there was a lot of waiting time at the stands. But as I said, the velodrome can't do anything about it. All the employees were very friendly and helpful.

Nice venue for concets. Was there for The Offspring. Beer points could be organized better to allow more efficient people flow and purchasing. Often, many streams of people mix and then it takes longer. Door management can be improved. Very long queues, only 1 entry point, takes ages and new people mix in between all the time which is a bit unfair to the ones waiting for a while. Should be better organised. Some restricted items not to bring are ridiculous.

If you have free choice of seats, it's definitely worth arriving early, as there will be really good seats at the top and back without obstructing your view. If the staff closes almost all the exit doors before the end of a concert, presumably in order to quickly get to the end of the day, then that borders on attempted mass murder. As if the catastrophe at the Love Parade in Duisburg hadn't happened, the flow of people is led along increasingly narrow walkways. It seems very lucky that no one has been hurt yet.

Even in winter it was a very pleasant stay. A highlight every time - breakfast in the captain's room. The only negative point: there is no way - without a car - to get onto the property from behind. You have to go around several streets outside to get to the main entrance, where you are not allowed to park. Great especially in rain and storms. Parking your car at the back in the parking lot and checking in with your luggage is not possible. Unless you pay for the rather expensive house parking lot.

Performance and the sound was great. (James Blake) Not sure that all of that about the place, however, things to consider: queue on the bar, queue after the concert, fresh air during the concert, quite basic visual support inside the place. Overall I spent 2,5 hours and 45 minutes waiting while the technical team arranged things.

The way there is very "special": you sometimes feel like you've been transported back to a day of hiking in elementary school :D There isn't much room for crowds between the elevators/staircase and the entrance to the hall. I attended two concerts: My chemical romance and Underworld. Very bad sound. The high frequencies are cut off altogether, the mid frequencies are not very good either, and the bass is so-so, to be honest. Dull, quiet sound. The problem is in the sound engineer or in the acoustic system - I don’t know. I won't go to this place again.

We went to Disney on ice at the Velodrome. The rush of the public was huge and yet the entrance went quickly and smoothly. The service starting from the cloakroom, food and drinks. Everything was super organized. The only thing that was very bad was the acoustics at the show.

I attended a concert there The light and sound were great! My only complaint: We bought a "Stehplatz" ticket and we were looking where we were supposed to stand. They told us, "Pick any entrance and stand wherever you find space." It was hard to find a space unless u came very early. Or, like many others, and to avoid blocking the view for others, some had to sit on the floor, or sit on the stairs (even though it's not allowed) because no one had any other option.

Music and acoustics were perfect. However, I found the organization rather difficult. Poor signage, not everyone who had a seat ticket had a seat at the end (it was described that way in advance, but I just find it strange) and the elevators weren't all in operation, which is really a problem for people with disabilities!

Good, clean concert location in the SSE style, so it looks a little old. Toilets too small, but whatever else: you can stand in them, buy drinks and snacks and that's it, an event location like this basically doesn't have to be able to do anything more... the rest is up to the organizer!

We went to Disney on Ice today. The event itself was great. We also had great seats with a great view. We were shocked by the prices for popcorn (17 €) and the fact that you basically got thrown out at the end, even though you waited in line at the toilet downstairs in the premium area. Not barrier-free! The velodrome and the organizer have put various barriers in the way (wheelchair user and companion). The wheelchair space we booked was only accessible by stairs. When asked, they said: There are wheelchair spaces, but at such large events you have to see for yourself where there is space. We went to the organizer again...then, after waiting again, a man came and looked for a place on the edge for us...poor visibility and we couldn't get further away from the shot. We missed the opening act and were only in a seat 5 minutes after the main act started. There was no seating provided for the accompaniment! Even on the way there and back you had to figure out how to get the elevators to work by asking around a lot! Velodrome - we'll never see each other again! All wheelchair users on site at Montez today, April 13th, 2024, went home feeling dissatisfied and with a renewed reminder: You are different and your life is not normal because of your wheelchair. The Velodrome shows no interest in having people with disabilities on site! There was no compensation upon request! In the photo you can see where you are being transported.

I visited the venue for a Powerwolf concert. I've found it cozy, yet you have enough space to go away or the crowd in case you wanna keep it quiet. It conveniently has a lot of storage posts, so you can hang tour cold clothes and attend the show with just enough stuff.

There were a lot of places tp buy beer, but still couldn't manage to get the logistics of it in a proper way. Don't know if it's fair to strip a star or two because of that, but I felt that beer was kind of important.

I went for a bicep concert there and the sound and lighting was top notch. This can be partly attributed to it being a bicep show but nonetheless I think this venue is great for concerts. The acoustics aren't bad.

Went there for the Within Temptation and Evanescence concert. The organization was excellent, the line was very long but moved very fast. The sound was good. But the view on the stage from sector 11 was really weird, I had to watch the stage from the side and could not properly appreciate cool effects the artists were using

The audio was mixed in such a way that the voices could barely be heard over the guitars at times which was such a shame. Plus the security team seemed quite annoyed at needing to help audience members that fainted and refused to offer concert goers water bottles after the set ended. The concert was great, but I'd only recommend Velodrom for the artist, not the venue

What an amazing place - although we had a conference there.. I see why this place is of Olympic standard. Clean and inviting.

👍 Super facilities BUT if you're not a local, perhaps even if you are, navigating the process of finding a club and then signing up and then actually finding where it is takes a bit of patience and experimentation. But there are people to help and if you are polite and patient then you can get throug...
