There’s always tables of used books for sale outside the building. The statues of the Humboldt brothers are stored indoor during the winter. Step inside the courtyard to view the statues of physicists Max Planck and Lise Meitner. Best location to connect to eduroam.

Majestic-looking building that is reminiscent of the two great Humboldt brothers. Anyone interested in German history cannot avoid a visit. Also definitely recommended because of the location. Fascinating 5 stars.

Attended several Winter and Summer scchool courses here - enjoyed them immensely. Humboldt has a long and fascinating history. It has produced no less than 29 Nobel Prize winners in its time. It occupies a magnificent old palace on the Unter den Linden that I gather was onced owned by Frederick the Great's brother.

This place is the star of Duolingo language course! And I'm personally so glad that I see it just for this reason. The building itself is very monumental. The interesting thing that I hadn't heard about before is the floor window through which you can see area of an old library.

Radical students who trample on the basic laws and violently attack other students should be punished with a ban on studying at all universities in the Federal Republic of Germany. The university is a place of free thought but not of violence.

Free entrance and you can look around or use any facilities. Also there is a bookshelf in the main lobby where you can take free books: a great souvenir from Berlin!

The history of Humboldt University includes many famous scientists. In 1901, the year in which the first Nobel Prize was awarded, one of the coveted prizes went to the University of Berlin to the Dutch chemist Jacob Hendrik Vant-Goff. A year later, the Nobel Prize for Literature went to Theodor Mommsen, a professor of the history of the ancient world. The Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to numerous scientists whose scientific work was associated with the university. The 29 winners included Albert Einstein and Max Planck. Emil Fischer, Walter Nernst and Otto Hahn received the prize for achievements in chemistry, and in medicine Robert Koch and Otto Heinrich Warburg received the prize.

Humboldt University of Berlin is a stimulating and welcoming place to learn. It's filled with students and faculty from all over the world, and there's always something to do on and off campus. The university is located in a vibrant part of Berlin, so you're never far from the action.

If you are person of color don't come to Berlin, and particularly to this university, the professor of Migration and integration research is spreading hate speech online. Imagine how he treat his students. It is definitely not Elite University

Flagging for Israel is well meant but sends the wrong message: Urging Reconsideration of Support for Current Israeli regime and human rights violations . Supporting just one side of the conflict without at least considering civilian victims on both sides and the desperate situation for years in Gaza seems inappropriate. Especially with the far-right regime led by Prime Minister Netanyahu, announcing and performing actions in clear violation of international law without regard for human rights. While it is crucial to unequivocally condemn the violence and barbarism that Hamas has unleashed on Israel, it is equally important to critically evaluate the actions of the Israeli government. Netanyahu's recent alliance with far-right, pro-settler parties, trying to undermine the supreme court and advocating for the annexation of Palestinian territories raises serious ethical and legal questions. The Israeli government policies are de facto like apartheid. Eg consider the minister in the Israeli government clearly states the rights jewish people are more important when talking about illegal occupied territories by extemist settlers (Ben-Gvir has been convicted of incitement to racism, destroying property, possessing a terrorist organisation’s propaganda material and supporting a “terrorist organisation, thisbis why he wasn’t allowed in to the israeli military) Supporting such a regime could inadvertently legitimize actions that are in direct violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law. For instance, the use of white phosphorus in military operations in Gaza by the Israeli forces is considered a war crime. This, along with the Israeli government announced plans for a "total siege" , and to cut off Gaza's electricity, fuel, water, and food, is neither responsible, appropriate, nor productive. As the occupying power, Israel has a clear obligation under international law to ensure the basic needs of Gaza’s civilian population are met. The current actions and policies of the Israeli government are in stark contrast to this obligation. I urge you to reconsider its stance and instead emphasize support for the civil society, including Israeli, Arab, Palestinian, and other minority communities. These are the groups that are most affected by the conflict and are in dire need of support and understanding. Supporting Israel is not like supporting a football club. Flagging for Israel in the current context sends the wrong message, legitimizing actions that are in clear violation of international law. I believe that Humbold University, as a respected institution, has a responsibility to promote peace, justice, and respect for human rights, including Palestinians. Maybe a practical approach is to half mast a UN flag or half mast both Palestinian and Israeli flag instead. ☮️🇮🇱🇵🇸

Teaching is becoming less and less every year because there seems to be no money. At the same time, every resource is used to make political statements and maintain external perception. Unfortunately no recommendation (anymore)
