Some turkish guy (a barmen I guess) was being racist and very rude. Not an attitude one would expect in 2022, unacceptable even for Berlin standards

The pubcrawl was good and kind but the barman is a total antipatic guy. In addition i didnt like how he treated his coworkers

The bar was cool and cozy, the waitress very kind, but the manager was very rude which is a pity because nobody wants to go for a drink where people start to shout at you.

You don't ever plan to go to the silberfisch but you find yourself always coming back. There is a certain charm to a dive bar. And this has got the chic in spade. its going to be fun and its going to be a little rough. but the laughs are real and the drinks always measure right... Enjoy.

Really small, good and underrated bar in the city. Staff was really welcoming and provided us a good service. They have cool industrial lightings and overall a fun place with music to enjoy with a small group or a friend. Love Berlin and this place, Surely visiting here again.

We were about to enter to the bar but still finishing our bootled beer, when the old guy came to us and asked us to leave the bar because we did not buy the beer in his place.... Hahaha 🤣. So be aware!

We have been to Berlin for 5 days, everyone was kind everywhere we went, this guy at the bar was the rudest person I have met in Germany, I asked for a drink and he said that the name of the drink was forbidden in Germany for some reason, his way was unacceptable. By the way 2 nights before that we were again there and we order the same drink with the “forbidden” name the staff then was great and really professional, too bad just one guy can ruin the reputation of a good spot.

We loved it here! The bartenders were extremely nice and the music was just perfect :)

Been on 2 trips to Berlin, in Jan 2017 and Dec 2022. Hasn’t changed a bit, and that’s not a bad thing! Will certainly go back every time I’m in Berlin! Great small little bar/pub vibe. Wide ranging music taste and open super late (compared to UK) Whatever they’ve served beer wise I’ve enjoyed. Never questioned, just whatever they’ve recommended. Been a nice vibe even if you go in at 9PM or 4AM. I’m not close to Berlin pricing, but doesn’t seem particularly expensive. Music varies a lot, at midnight we had System of a Down, 4am we had a 80s collection. Had Panic! at the Disco & Fall Out Boy last time I was there too. Perfect for someone that has massively varying msuic tastes. Not sure if they take requests, never felt the need to ask as I’ve always enjoy the vast majority of whatever they’ve played. They have a small dance floor type area in the middle and it’ll spontaneously start up when a great song comes on haha! Bar staff were always attentive as far as my standards go, collecting glasses, even brought larger orders to the table for us even though the place isn’t large, so was quite happy with the experience! I think the nights we were there there was an Irish (I think?) barmaid and a older barman both friendly and happy to help. No complaints at all. Location is good since I’ve stayed in the street both times at Generator and Meininger, but I’ve noticed no real noise from the pub / street despite staying street side both times.

For many years the place to go for a good time, with good music and a great selection of drinks! Also the toilets are always very clean. Definitely a recommendation!

Place Is nice, but music was too Loud and staff Is a bit offputting both the Guy at the entrance and the waitress.

My wife and I stumbled upon this place on our last evening in Berlin. The staff and locals are all friendly and we ended up drinking and chatting with some local Berliners until the early hours of the morning. I'll be coming back here on our next visit to Berlin!

We went there as such a big group but they were able to have us, i was so glad. The vibe is good and the music is good. Maybe because we are a big group, they make us pay right after our drinks come. But i find that really logical. Because everybody forgets what they've bought and in big groups it causes a big problem. And we were all from other countries but we didnt came across any racism (so not really like some reviews said). The reason im giving 4 stars not 5 is that I've read the reviews and even tho the owner is right in some of the comments, the way the owner says it is a bit rude.

I went to this bar last year, and it is a great place to chill with friends at night.

Eine gemütliche Bar, gute Hintergrundmusik (mit viel Rock aus den 90ern und später), gute Getränke und eine sehr freundliche Bedienung. Aber auch die anderen Gäste waren sehr freundlich und respektvoll. Definitiv zu empfehlen, für einen gemütlichen Abend zu zweit oder auch in einer kleinen Runde. Zur Info: man darf drinnen rauchen ;) Man kann nur mit Bargeld bezahlen!

Someone once said "it's not what people say - it's how they make you feel that matters". I don't remember much of the conversations, but I had a cracking time there. Solid place with great people that will make any night creature feel welcomed

My favorite bar in Berlin! Great reliable place, Open 7 days a week until 6 AM, service is friendly and quick and the vibe is easygoing. Full of expats and you can smoke inside, just a nice place to spend a few hours.

Nice bar right in Hackescher Markt. The waitress on Thursday night was really nice and attentive, came to check us several times, and service was fast. Decoration fits the name of the bar also.

I really enjoyed this bar. It's a literal underground dive bar with an excellent beverage menu. The bartenders were awesome and friendly (and spoke perfect English, if that matters to you). Good crowd, music playing, and a low-key vibe. Definitely recommend a visit.

Horrible attitude form the bar keeper. Thought he was something way better than his costumers. We asked for a song request and he arrogantly denied it! So rude!!! We’ve spent some wonderful evenings here but that bar keeper got us to never go here again!!!

Extremely nice owner, very good music. I am having hard time understanding all the bad reviews. Prices are quite alright as well. It is one of the older places which shows the heart of Berlin, they should be proud.. Very good for expats, english service is better than most of the places around.

Avoid at all costs! Staff extremely rude, racist and discriminatory. disgraceful, narcissistic behaviour - we were abused and mistreated since we arrived. A group of 8 of us Irish were accused of being too loud (it’s a pub, not a library)? I do not recommend to anyone. There is nicer places in Berlin, do not go here!

Terrible bar. Staff was very rude! Owner was very racist and disrespectful. Kept telling us to keep it down or else we will be kicked out because we were too loud!! (It’s a bar) I definitely absolutely do NOT recommend!! Should be ashamed!

Was having a good time here until bartender here made deeply antisemitic remarks. My group left, as did a few others around us. I would avoid this place.
